Movie of the Week Reminder: Against the Ice

On March 2, the Netflix movie Against the Ice will debut online.

In 1909, a Denmark expedition led by Captain Ejnar Mikkelsen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau from Game of Thrones, who also co-wrote this film) was attempting to disprove the United States’ claim to North-Eastern Greenland, a claim that was rooted in the idea that Greenland was broken up into two different pieces of land. Leaving their crew behind with the ship, Mikkelsen sleds across the ice with his inexperienced crew member, Iver Iversen.

The cast includes Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Ed Speelers (Outlander and Downton Abbey), Joe Cole (Peaky Blinders and Gangs of London) and Heida Reed (Poldark and FBI: International).

It was a full night of programming on the major networks last night with a handful of comedies, one reality show and new episodes from eight Thursday night dramas, which included the debut of a revival drama, the return of most of the primetime line-up and a crossover event on ABC.

New Show Introduction: Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber

The new Showtime anthology series Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber will air at 10 PM on February 27.

The anthology series tells the story of one of Silicon Valley’s most successful and most destructive unicorns: Uber. The season pivots on Travis Kalanick (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Uber’s hard-charging CEO who was ultimately ousted in a boardroom coup, and his sometimes tumultuous relationship with his mentor Bill Gurley (Kyle Chandler), the plainspoken, brilliant Texan venture capitalist who bets his sterling reputation on Uber’s success – and then has to live with the consequences.

The ensemble cast includes Ben Feldman, David Krumholtz, Elisabeth Shue, Hank Azaria, Kerry Bishe, Richard Schiff, Rob Morrow and Uma Thurman.
