The Wednesday primetime line-up on the major networks was filled with game shows, a repeat, comedies and reality along with new episodes from four Wednesday night dramas, one of which was the show’s season finale.

The Tuesday primetime line-up on the major networks was filled with repeats and comedies along with new episodes from five Tuesday night dramas, one which was the show’s two-hour series finale and one was the second part of the show’s season finale.

Here is how those five Tuesday night dramas fared in the overall ratings on Tuesday night:

Outlander News: Series to End After Season 8

The news broke yesterday that Starz has given the final season order to Outlander.

The series will come to an end after its eighth season, which will consist of 10 episodes.

But, don’t lose heart Outlander fans, as the show’s 7th season, which will consist of 16 episodes, will premiere on Starz sometime this summer; and given the show’s track record with breaks – otherwise known as Droughtlander – between seasons, the 8th and final season will most likely not air until 2025.

In the meantime, the cabler has also announced that a prequel centered on the love story of Jamie Fraser’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, to be called Outlander: Blood of My Blood, has been given a series order. Outlander showrunner Matthew B. Roberts will serve as showrunner and executive producer on that new series, which will consist of 10 episodes for its debut season.

The new series will explore what lengths a person will go to find love in a time when love is considered a luxury, and when marriages are made strategically, often for political or financial gain. The title of the series is a nod to Jamie Fraser’s marriage vow to Claire and there will be several names and faces that Outlander fans will know and recognize.

Make sure to mark your calendars for season 7 of Outlander this summer on Starz.

New Show Introduction: Accused

On January 22, the new FOX drama Accused will debut at 9 PM.

This series is a collection of 15 intense, topical and exquisitely human stories of crime and punishment. Each episode is a fast-paced provocative thriller, exploring a different crime, in a different city, with an entirely original cast. Told from the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks, the show holds a mirror up to current times with evocative and emotional stories.

Audrey Harper heads to Hope Cove to write about the anonymous Ask Aunt Hope, a love advice column and a mainstay of the town’s local newspaper. There, she meets the charming and handsome Editor-in-Chief Morgan Cooper, who helps her uncover the true identity of “Aunt Hope.”
