Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:

On January 9, the long-in-the-waiting crossover event between NCIS, NCIS Hawai’i and NCIS: Los Angeles will happen tonight at 8, 9 and 10 PM respectively on CBS while that same night, the season premiere of C.B. Strike will air on HBO at 9 PM.

The Golden Globe Awards will air on NBC at 8 PM on January 10 while that same night, the first hour of the two-part season finale of The Resident will air on FOX at 8 PM

On January 11, the season finale of Willow will air online on Disney+.

The second season premiere of Vikings: Valhalla will air online on Netflix on January 12; that same night, Walker and Walker: Independence will return with new episodes on The CW at 8 and 9 PM respectively and also on January 12, Criminal Minds: Evolution will be back with new episodes on Paramount+.

On January 13, the season finale of Echo 3 will air online on Apple TV+; and that same day, the second and final season of Hunters will premiere online on Amazon; and also on January 13, Servant will air its fourth season premiere online today on Apple TV+.

On January 15, the second season of Mayor of Kingstown will premiere online on Paramount+ while that same day, the season finale of Tulsa King will air online on Paramount+. Also that night, the 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards will air at 7 PM on The CW; and also the second season premiere of Your Honor will air on Showtime at 9 PM. And, on January 15, the third season premiere of Godfather of Harlem will air on MGM+ (formerly EPIX) at 9 PM.

Also on January 15, the new Hallmark Channel drama The Way Home will debut at 9 PM. This is a new family drama that follows the lives of three generations of women – Kat Landry (Chyler Leigh), her 15-year-old daughter Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) and Kat’s mother Del (Andie MacDowell), who are all strong, willful and independent. More than 20 years prior, life changing events prompted Kat to move away from her small, Canadian farm town of Port Haven and she remains estranged from Del to this day. Alice has never met her grandmother and is unaware of the reasons for their fractured family. With Kat’s marriage coming to an end and having just been laid off from her job, she decides to return home after receiving an unexpected letter from Del urging her to come back. Although Alice is none-too-thrilled, Kat and her daughter arrive at her family’s farm, though the reunion isn’t what Kat had envisioned. As the three generations of women slowly work on finding their footing as a family, they embark on an enlightening – and surprising – journey none of them could have imagined as they learn how to find their way back to each other.

The UPtv movie The Princess and the Bodyguard will debut on January 15 at 7 PM. On her 35th birthday, Lexi discovers who she secretly always was a royal Princess. She now has two weeks to find a suitable date for the royal gala under the watchful eye of her handsome but infuriating bodyguard, Noah. The cast includes Emily Alatalo, Ryan Bruce and Marcus Craig.

And lastly on January 15, the HBO drama The Last of Us will debut at 9 PM. The series takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival. The cast includes Anna Torv, Ashley Johnson, Gabriel Luna, Graham Greene, Jeffrey Pierce, Melanie Lynskey, Merle Dandridge, Nick Offerman, Pedro Pascal and Storm Reid [among others].

CANCELLATION/RENEWALS

CBS has given a second season renewal to Fire Country. (TV Line)

Netflix has finally given the thriller series Wednesday a second season renewal. (TV Line)

Netflix has canceled the German period piece drama 1899 after only one season. (Variety)

AMC has pulled the plug on the drama 61st Street, despite the show originally receiving a second season renewal. (Variety)

TV CASTING NEWS

Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Keiynan Lonsdale and Sendhil Ramamurthy will all reprise their roles in the 9th and final season of The Flash on The CW. (TV Line and Collider)

Benedict Cumberbatch is in final talks to star in the upcoming Netflix 6-episode limited series Eric that will be set in 1980’s New York. Cumberbatch will play Vincent Sullivan, the lead puppet maker and puppeteer of America’s most popular children’s show, whose life begins to unravel when his young son, Edgar, disappears. Now homeless and dealing with substance addiction, Vincent finds his only companion is Eric, a seven-foot tall blue puppet, who leads him on a journey to find his son and to find a way home. (Variety)

Nicole Kidman has joined the cast of the upcoming Taylor Sheridan drama series Lioness that will air on Paramount+. Kidman is already set as one of the executive producers. The show is based on a real-life CIA program, following Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira), a rough-around-the-edges but passionate young Marine recruited to join the CIA’s Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organization from within. The cast already includes Zoe Saldaña, Jill Wagner, Dave Annable and LaMonica Garrett [among others]. Kidman will play Kaitlyn Meade, the CIA’s Senior Supervisor who has had a long career of playing the politics game. (Variety)

BOX OFFICE NEWS

Paul Mescal (Normal People) is in talks to star in the Ridley Scott sequel to Gladiator, which made Russell Crowe a superstar. Mescal will play Lucius, the son of Lucilla (played by Connie Nielsen in the original film). (Variety)
