Netflix cancelled the fantasy series Warrior Nun after two seasons six months ago, but the show’s creator and showrunner went on social media earlier this week to say that the series will be back “somewhere, some way.” No deals are in place – yet – but discussions are underway to revive the series through a standalone movie or a shortened final season. It will not be on Netflix though. (TV Line)

TV NEWS

Gillian Anderson will star in Kurt Sutter’s upcoming Western series The Abandons that will debut on Netflix. She will join Lena Headey in the series. The tagline for the show is: As a group of diverse, outlier families pursue their Manifest Destiny in 1850s Oregon, a corrupt force of wealth and power, coveting their land, tries to force them out. These abandoned souls, the kind of lost souls living on the fringe of society, unite their tribes to form a family and fight back. In this bloody process, “justice” is stretched beyond the boundaries of the law. (Variety)

Film legend Kevin Bacon will star in the lead role in the straight-to-series thriller The Bondsman at Amazon’s Prime Video. The series centers on Hub Halloran (Bacon), a backwoods bounty hunter who comes back from the dead with an unexpected second chance at life, love, and a nearly-forgotten musical career — only to find that his old job now has a demonic new twist. (Variety)

Additional plot details, including specifics on Peters’ and Turner-Smith’s roles, are being kept under wraps. (Variety)

Deschanel will play Elenore, a woman grappling with the disappearance of her husband (Trammell), after he enlists in a scientific experiment run by Dumezweni’s character. But, a year later he returns, and she learns he’s from a parallel dimension. She soon has to decide whether to pursue the man who is 99% of the husband she married or wait for the return of the man she once knew. (Variety)
