On October 6, the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie Hannah Swensen Mysteries: A Zest for Death will debut at 9 PM.

They say the real estate business is deadly, but no one is more surprised than Hannah Swensen (Alison Sweeney) when her mother, Delores (Barbara Niven), discovers the dead body of the homeowner – and regular customer of The Cookie Jar – while house-hunting for her sister Michelle. Hannah is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery and is convinced that the prime suspect Mike (Cameron Mathison) and the Sheriff are focusing on isn’t the culprit.

Hannah’s sleuthing becomes a family affair when Delores, Michelle and even her sister Andrea – who pays an unexpected visit – take part in the investigation. As Hannah uncovers clues she slowly rules out suspects and is led to the shocking truth about the killer’s identity.

Tom Nichols (Benicio Del Toro), a hardened New England detective unflinching in his pursuit of a case where nothing is as it seems, one that begins to dismantle the illusions in his own life.

The cast includes Justin Timberlake, Alicia Silverstone, Eric Bogosian, Domenick Lombardozzi, Frances Fisher, Ato Essandoh, Michael Pitt and Thad Luckinbill.

Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:

On October 3, the season finale of Only Murders in the Building will air online on Hulu; while that same day the Disney+ drama Star Wars: Ahsoka will air its finale online.

The new NBC drama Found will debut on October 3 at 10 PM. In any given year, more than 600,000 people are reported missing in the U.S. More than half that number are people of color that the country seems to forget about. Gabi Mosley (Shanola Hampton), a public relations specialist, who was once herself one of those forgotten ones, and her crisis management team now make sure there is always someone looking out for the forgotten missing people. But unbeknownst to anyone, this everyday hero is hiding a chilling secret of her own. The cast includes Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton, Arlen Escarpeta, Gabrielle Walsh and Karan Oberoi.

On October 4, the second season premiere of Quantum Leap will air on NBC at 8 PM followed by the 5th season premiere of Magnum P.I. at 9 PM; while that same night the second season premiere of SurrealEstate will air on Syfy at 10:01 PM. Also that day, the streaming premiere of the box office film Haunted Mansion will air online on Disney+.

The Canadian transplants Sullivan’s Crossing and The Spencer Sisters will make their US debuts on The CW on October 4 at 8 and 9 PM respectively.

For Sullivan’s Crossing: Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan from When Hope Calls) is a star neurosurgeon who seemingly has it all, until her business partner is indicted for fraud and she finds herself charged with negligence. Looking to distance herself from the fallout, Maggie decides to leave Boston and return to her childhood home of Sullivan’s Crossing, a rustic and remote campground set against the stunning coastline still run by her estranged father, Sully Sullivan (Scott Patterson from Gilmore Girls). There, Maggie rekindles old friendships and builds new ones with the local residents, including a handsome newcomer, Cal Jones (Chad Michael Murray from One Tree Hill), who only serves to complicate her life further. As Maggie works on clearing her name and reputation, she is forced to confront her painful past, as she attempts to reconnect with a side of herself she had long forgotten.

For The Spencer Sisters: This lighthearted procedural follows mystery novelist Victoria Spencer (Lea Thompson from the Back to the Future franchise and Switched at Birth) and her daughter Darby Spencer (Stacey Farber from Superman & Lois and Schitt’s Creek) who are mistaken as sisters as they tackle puzzling cases. The cast includes Edward Ruttle and Kaitlyn Leeb.

On October 5, the third season of Lupin will premiere online on Netflix; while that same day the second season of Loki will premiere online on Disney+.

The power of three is put to the test as they face even bigger challenges this year – new students – like Toralei (Salena Qureshi), a feisty British were-cat – new powers, evolving friendships and an even bigger threat that could not only tear their friendship apart but could change the world forever. The cast also includes Ana Ortiz and Steve Valentine [among others].

On October 7, the new movie Swing Into Romance will debut on Great American Family at 8 PM. When former dancer Christine Sims (Danica McKellar) temporarily returns to her hometown in time for the town’s Fall Festival, she discovers her family’s General Store is in trouble. In her efforts to save the business, Christine will need to dust off those dancing shoes one more time, face her ex-fiancé, and maybe even find love. The movie co-stars David Haydn-Jones.

The UPtv movie Sweet As Maple Syrup will debut on October 8 at 8 PM. Rachelle (Brooke Nevin) is in a race against time when her family’s maple orchard starts to decline, just ahead of the upcoming Maple Syrup Festival. With the help of Derek (Carlo Marks), a professor of arboriculture, they combine her hands-on experience and his scientific knowledge to heal the orchard, along the way discovering their newfound friendship may have a sweet ending of its own.

Lastly also on October 8, the season finales of Professor T, Unforgotten on Masterpiece and Van der Valk on Masterpiece will all air on PBS at 8, 9 and 10 PM respectively.

Hey All,

Here are the few entertainment news items from this past week, but first let’s all cheer the Writers Guild of America as an agreement was finally made between them and the studios last week.

CANCELLATIONS

Starz has pulled the plug on the sophomore shows Run the World, Blindspotting and the Stephen Amell drama Heels. They have also scrapped plans for the new drama The Venery of Samantha Bird, which had been in development. (TV Line)

MUSICAL ADAPTATION

The 2004 comedy 13 Going on 30 which starred Jennifer Garner (Alias and The Last Thing He Told Me), is getting a musical stage adaptation from its original writers, Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa. 13 Going on 30 The Musical is set to premiere next summer. (Variety)
