Here is the long list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:
On November 29, the new drama The Artful Dodger will debut online today on Hulu. This series is an irreverent follow up to Charles Dickens Oliver Twist that explores the adult double life of Jack Dawkins (Thomas Brodie-Sangster). Set in 1850’s Australia, in the lively colony of Port Victory, we meet Jack, The Artful Dodger, who’s transferred his fast fingers as a pickpocket to the nimble skilled fingers of a surgeon. His past returns to haunt him, though with the arrival of Fagin (David Thewlis), luring him back into a world of crime. A greater threat – to Dodger’s heart – is Lady Belle (Mia Mitchell), the Governor’s daughter, determined to become the colony’s first female surgeon. From heists to life-and-death surgeries, from soirées to street violence, this is a tale of reinvention, betrayal, redemption and love with a twist. The cast also includes Damon Herriman and Jessica De Gouw.
The third season of the Apple TV+ drama Slow Horses will premiere online on November 29.
On November 30, the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries holiday movie Time for Her to Come Home for Christmas will debut at 8 PM. Facing her first Christmas without her mother and looking to avoid loneliness, Carly (Shenae Grimes-Beech) heads to a quaint town to lead the church choir at Christmas. Once there, Carly meets Matthew (Chris Carmack), a man back in town after serving in the army. As she gets to know Matthew, the choir and townspeople, she stumbles across clues that suggest she may have been brought here for a life changing reason. As the mystery unravels one thing is clear, this journey will teach Carly about true love, learning to trust, and that forgiveness is needed to finally heal. The movie also stars Grace Leer.
The BET+ holiday movies A Royal Christmas Surprise and The Christmas Ringer will both debut online on November 30. A Royal Christmas Surprise is about Riley, who is planning the perfect Christmas for her soon to be husband, Mandla. As Riley’s family hosts Mandla’s South African royal parents in Kentucky, Riley receives a surprise from Mandla that will jeopardize her plans with her future husband. The film stars Jennifer Freeman, Thapelo Mokoena, Abena Ayivor, Sello Maake Ka- Bcube, Trisha Mann-Grant, Tony Grant, Andi Anderson and Andrae Bicy. The Christmas Ringer focuses on what happens after her career is derailed by her manager-fiancé, the reigning Princess of Christmas and defunct R&B singer retreats to her family’s home for the holidays where her mother convinces her to direct the family’s ragtag church choir so they can win a Christmas Choir Competition. The cast includes Trenyce, Kelly Price, Tyler Lepley, Chrisette Michelle, Arischa Connor, Q Parker, Akbar V, Tamika Scott and Jarrett Michael Collins.
On November 30, the Netflix film Family Switch will debut online. A family descends into chaos days before Christmas when a rare cosmic event causes the parents to swap bodies with their teenage kids. Think of this as the holiday version of Freaking Friday, starring Jennifer Garner, Ed Helms and Emma Myers.
The new Netflix series Obliterated will debut online on November 30. This high-octane action-comedy tells the story of an elite special forces team who thwarts a deadly threat to Las Vegas. After their celebratory party, filled with booze, drugs and sex, the team discovers that the bomb they deactivated was a fake. The now intoxicated team has to fight through their impairments, overcome their personal issues, find the real bomb, and save the world. The series stars Nick Zano, Shelley Hennig, Terrence Terrell and C. Thomas Howell [among others].
On November 30, the two holiday-themed episodes from season 5 of Virgin River will debut online on Netflix. Mel and Jack (Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson) embark on a very merry scavenger hunt as Virgin River gets ready for the annual Christmas Tree decorating contest. More specifically, that scavenger hunt will be a search for Mel’s biological father, which she and her sister learned about in the final episode of the new season that aired back on September 7.
The Amazon Prime feature film Candy Cane Lane will debut online on December 1. A man is determined to win the neighborhood’s annual Christmas decorating contest. He makes a pact with an elf to help him win–and the elf casts a spell that brings the 12 days of Christmas to life, which brings unexpected chaos to town. The film stars Eddie Murphy, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jillian Bell, Genneya Walton, Nick Offerman, Chriss Redd, Robin Thede and David Alan Grier.
On December 1, the short film The Shepherd will debut online on Disney+. On Christmas Eve, a young RAF pilot flying home across the North Sea finds himself in peril when his radio and electric power cut out, leaving him stranded and running on limited fuel. Just when it appears his luck is about to run out, a mysterious good Samaritan guides him to safety. The movie stars John Travolta
The box office movie May December will debut online on Netflix on December 1. Twenty years after their notorious tabloid romance gripped the nation, a married couple (Julianne Moore and Charles Melton) buckles under pressure when an actress (Natalie Portman) arrives to do research for a film about their past. D.W. Moffat also stars.
On December 1, the Hallmark Channel movie My Norwegian Holiday will debut at 8 PM. JJ (Rhiannon Fish), grieving the loss of her grandmother and seeking inspiration, stumbles upon an unexpected holiday destiny. Meeting Henrik (David Elsendoorn), a Norwegian from Bergen, their connection deepens when he discovers she has a troll figurine from his hometown.
On December 1, the third season premiere of Power Book III: Raising Kanan will air on Starz at 8 PM.
The second part of the 3-part, entitled Wild Blue Yonder, 60th anniversary Doctor Who special will air online on Disney+ on December 2. The TARDIS takes the Doctor and Donna (David Tennant and Catherine Tate) to the furthest edge of adventure. To escape, they must face the most desperate fight of their lives, with the fate of the universe at stake.
On December 2, the Hallmark Channel movie A Not So Royal Christmas will debut at 8 PM. Tabloid journalist Charlotte (Brooke D’Orsay) attempts to land an interview with a reclusive Count. In response, the royal family has a groundskeeper (Will Kemp) pose as the Count since the real one fled years ago.
The holiday movie Christmas on Windmill Way will debut on December 2 at 8 PM on Great American Family. Mia Miejer excitedly anticipates the Christmas Market Fest Dutch Bake-Off competition and is filled with confidence she will win the festival’s top prize with her award-winning Kerststol. Mimi has difficult news to share, having to sell land around the family-owned Jansen Inn, including easements all around the heritage Tall Wooden and Brick Dutch Windmill renowned for centuries for its fine millwork and beautiful wooden furniture. It’s an especially tough pill for Mia to swallow when she learns the land developer’s representative is her former boyfriend Brady Schaltz who also must let Mia and Ann know the agreement includes the Inn and sawmill, all of which will be torn down. The film stars Christa Taylor Brown and Chad Michael Murray.
On December 2, the Lifetime movie Ladies of the ‘80s: A Divas Christmas will debut at 8 PM. Five internationally-known, glamorous, 80s soap opera stars (Loni Anderson, Morgan Fairchild, Linda Gray, Donna Mills and Nicollette Sheridan) reunite to share the spotlight and shoot the final Christmas episode of their long-running soap opera. The Ladies play cupid to the young director and producer and romance blooms. The cast includes Christopher Atkins and Travis Burns.
The OWN holiday movie A Christmas Serenade will debut on December 2 at 9 PM. When Jeremiah returns home for the first time in years to play a gig with his band, he is recruited to take over as the minister of music for the annual Christmas Jubilee at his home church reigniting the feud, and romance, between the pastor’s daughter Willow. Skye Townsend, B.J. Britt and Darlene Cooke.
On December 3, the final two episodes of the first season of Yellowstone will air on CBS at 8 and 9 PM.
The holiday movie Mistletoe Match will debut on Lifetime on December 3 at 8 PM. Journalist Olivia (Elena Juatco) goes undercover to the successful Mistletoe Match event. There, she meets single dad, widower Thomas (Ryan Bruce). Sparks soon fly, but with a promotion on the line, will she risk losing it all for the romance she never saw coming?
On December 3, the UPtv movie Yuletide the Knot will debut at 7 PM. When small town wedding planner Rachel is faced with planning her biggest Christmas wedding yet for an out-of-town influencer couple, she is thrown an unexpected surprise when the bride’s manager turns out to be Logan, her first love and high school sweetheart. He reminds her what it is to love, and through rediscovering the magic of Christmas, she rediscovers a part of her heart she closed off long ago. The film stars Mary Antonini, Peter Porte, Kelley Jackle, Kelsey Scott, Melissa Peterman.
The holiday movie Christmas With a Kiss will debut on the Hallmark Channel on December 3 at 8 PM. A woman (Mishael Morgan) returns home to help with her family’s Christmas Carnival and romance ignites. A photojournalist (Ronnie Rowe Jr.) curates a surprise reunion. The film also stars Jamie M. Callica.
Lastly also on December 3, the Great American Family movie The Jinglebell Jubilee will debut at 8 PM. A city manager recruits the help of a childhood friend in setting right his town’s Christmas charity event, while she gets to work setting him up with her close friend. The film stars Erin Agostino and Marshall Williams.
