Here is the long list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:
On December 19, the season finale of A Murder at the End of the World will air on FX on Hulu.
The first two episodes of the TV adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will debut online on Disney+ on December 20. Based on the best-selling book series by award-winning author Rick Riordan, the small screen adaptation tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god, Zeus (Lance Reddick), accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and Annabeth (Leah Jeffries), Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus. The cast includes Virginia Kull as Percy’s mom Sally, Adam Copeland as Ares, Jessica Parker Kennedy as Medusa, Megan Mullally as Alecto/Mrs. Dodds, Timothy Omundsen as Hephaestus, Toby Stephens as Poseidon, Jay Duplass as Hades and Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes.
On December 21, the second season of Dr. Death will premiere online on Peacock.
The BET+ movie Whatever It Takes will debut online on December 21. Santa’s big bag is carrying nothing but folks’ emotional baggage. When it all gets exposed, chaos ensues, and everyone must learn how to navigate unexpected obstacles. The movie stars Tami Roman (who also executive produces).
On December 21, the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie Miracle in Bethlehem, PA will debut at 8 PM. Successful and fiercely independent, Mary Ann Brubeck (Laura Vandervoort) adopts a baby girl to raise on her own just before Christmas. Due to weather, she and the baby get stuck in Bethlehem, PA for the holidays. When there is no room at the inn, her only option is to stay with the innkeeper’s brother Joe (Benjamin Ayres), a quintessential bachelor who lives in a house that he treats like a barn. As Mary Ann learns the value of community by spending time with Joe’s family and participating in the local church’s Christmas events, Joe starts getting his act together with new motivation… and the two begin to see each other in a new light.
The Zack Synder new movie Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire will debut online on Netflix on December 21. When a peaceful settlement on the edge of a distant moon finds itself threatened by the armies of a tyrannical ruling force, a mysterious stranger living among its villagers becomes their best hope for survival. The ensemble cast includes Sofia Boutella, Ed Skrein, Jena Malone, Charlie Hunnam, Cary Elwes, Anthony Hopkins, Michiel Huisman and Djimon Hounsou.
On December 22, the 9-episode second season of the Marvel animated series What If…? will premiere, starting tonight, on Disney+ and will air a new episode each night through December 30.
The OWN holiday movie Christmas Revisited will debut on December 23 at 9 PM. A group of old college friends gather for Christmas at their recently deceased friend’s mountain cabin as old resentments, secrets and unexpected romance blossom. The cast includes Tanyell Waivers, Jaime M. Callica, Andrea Lewis and Golden Madison.
On December 23, the Lifetime holiday movie Mom’s Christmas Boyfriend will debut at 8 PM. Precocious 10-year-old Lily Morgan (Ai Barrett) enters a writing contest about her Christmas wish. She wishes that her single mother, Emma (Jeananne Goossen), finds love and a father for herself, whom Emma adopted as an infant in China. After winning the contest, will Lily’s wish come true? Zach Smadu co-stars.
The Great American Family movie A Royal Christmas Holiday will debut on December 23 at 8 PM. An ambitious reporter (Brittany Underwood) looking for her big break and an impetuous prince (Jonathan Stoddard) sent to New York on assignment have their worlds collide during the holidays and discover love and what matters most at Christmas. William Baldwin co-stars.
On December 24, the Showtime series The Curse will move to its new time slot at 9 PM.
Also, lastly on December 24, the UPtv holiday movie A Christmas Letter will debut at 7 PM. This movie is a modern love story mixed with an epic adventure that ultimately brings a family together, with an uplifting, feel-good look at how the spirit of the holidays – and help from some pro hockey players – can unite a community and new-found friendships. This is a tale of how love, compassion and a little Christmas sparkle can bring us together when we need it the most. The film stars Colin Mochrie, David Lipper, Enrico Colantoni and Glenda Bragzana.
