Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:
On January 9, the Hulu series Safe Home will debut online. Phoebe (Aisha Dee) leaves her job at a law firm and begins work at a family violence centre and she must navigate a path that isn’t always clear, and people and events that aren’t always as they appear.
The third and final season of La Brea will premiere on NBC at 9 PM followed by the return of Found at 10 PM on January 9.
Also on January 9, the new Marvel series Echo will debut online on both Disney+ and Hulu. Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) as she is pursued by Wilson Fisk’s (Vincent D’Onofrio) criminal empire. When the journey brings her home, she must confront her own family and legacy. The cast includes Devery Jacobs, Graham Greene, Tantoo Cardinal, Zahn McClarnon, Chaske Spencer and Cody Lightning.
The new Apple TV+ series Criminal Record will debut online on January 10. This thriller is set in the heart of contemporary London when an anonymous phone call draws two brilliant detectives into a confrontation over an old murder case – one a young woman in the early stages of her career, the other a well-connected man determined to protect his legacy. The cast includes Peter Capaldi, Cush Jumbo and Zoe Wanamaker [among others].
On January 11, the second season of Skymed will premiere online on Paramount+.
The following finales will all air online on January 12: For All Mankind on Apple TV+; Monarch: Legacy of Monsters on Apple TV+ and The Curse on Paramount+.
On January 12, the Amazon Prime movie Role Play will debut online. Emma Brackett (Kaley Cuoco) has a wonderful husband (David Oyelowo) and two kids in the suburbs of New Jersey. She also has a secret life as an assassin for hire, a secret that her husband David discovers when the couple decide to spice up their marriage with a little role play. The film also stars Bill Nighy and Connie Nielsen.
The Netflix movie Lift will debut online on January 12. An international heist crew, led by Cyrus Whitaker (Kevin Hart), race to lift $500 million in gold from a passenger plane at 40,000 feet. The movie also stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D’Onofrio, Billy Magnussen, Jacob Batalon, Jean Reno, Sam Worthington and Burn Gorman [among others].
Also on January 12, the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie True Justice: Family Ties will debut at 8 PM. A law school student (Katherine McNamara) with the help of her friends sets out to prove her brother was wrongfully convicted. The only way to clear his name is by finding the real killer, but the closer they get, the more danger they are all in.
The Hallmark Channel movie A Scottish Love Scheme will debut on January 13 at 8 PM. Lily (Erica Durance) travels to Scotland with her mother and reconnects with Logan (Jordan Young), a childhood family friend. Unbeknownst to Lily and Logan, their meddling mothers have come up with a plan to set them up.
On January 14, the new drama Monsieur Spade will debut online on Acorn TV and AMC+ as well as on AMC at 9 PM. The year is 1963, and the legendary Detective Sam Spade (Clive Owen) is enjoying his retirement in the South of France,” reads the synopsis. “By contrast to his days as a private eye in San Francisco, Spade’s life in Bozouls is peaceful and quiet. But the rumored return of his old adversary will change everything. Six beloved nuns have been brutally murdered at the local convent. As the town grieves, secrets emerge, and new leads are established. Spade learns that the murders are somehow connected to a mysterious child who is believed to possess great powers.
The 2024 Critics Choice Awards will air on The CW on January 14 at 7 PM.
On January 14, the UPtv movie Love on Retreat will debut at 7 PM. When beauty brand Bloom decides to close its flagship store and focus on online sales, content creator Jenny (Ansley Gordon) must find a way to deal with the backlash from their loyal fanbase and spin the news into a positive thing via their social media. On top of that, Bloom is pivoting to eco-friendly products and a wellness angle, so Jenny spends the seaside corporate retreat in Miami trying to capture the “life” in “work/life balance.” Her drive to achieve clashes with the chill vibe of activities director Nate (Jonathan Stoddard). Sparks fly between these two as Jenny realizes Nate is a thrill-seeker who has work/life balance figured out, but there’s one problem, he’s the brother of her boss.
The new drama Belgravia: The Next Chapter (the sequel to Belgravia) will debut on MGM+ (formerly EPIX) on January 14 at 9 PM. The series tells the love story of Frederick Trenchard (Benjamin Wainwright), the third Lord Trenchard, and his new love interest, Clara Dunn (Harriet Slater), who is a newcomer to London society. Unaware that his birth was the product of an affair between his mother Susan (Alice Eve) and the scoundrel John Bellasis (Adam James), a troubled childhood has left Frederick deeply insecure, which challenges his courtship of, and marriage to, Clara. The cast includes Toby Regbo.
On January 14, the 4th season of True Detective: North Country will premiere on HBO at 9 PM. When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice. The series also stars Christopher Eccleston, Fiona Shaw and John Hawkes.
Lastly on January 14, the season finale of The Curse will air at 9 PM on Showtime.
