The Hallmark Mystery movie The Cases of Mystery Lane: Death Is Listening will debut at 9 PM on September 13.

In this sequel movie, as Birdie and Alden Case’s (Aimee Garcia and Paul Campbell) relationship strengthens, they discover a mutual interest for True Crime. But when their favorite podcaster is found dead, it is up to The Cases to listen to the clues.

The 90-minute special Wynonna Earp: Vengeance will debut on the streaming service Tubi online on September 13.

This special will pick up about 18 months after the events of the show’s series finale, calling Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano) back home to Purgatory to help fight a new evil.

Returning to their roles will include Tim Rozon, Dominique Provost-Chalkley and Katherine Barrell.

On September 13, the new Starz drama Three Women will debut at 10 PM.

The series finds three women on a crash course to radically overturn their lives.

Lina (Betty Gilpin), a homemaker in suburban Indiana, is a decade into a passionless marriage when she embarks on an affair that quickly becomes all-consuming and transforms her life. Sloane (DeWanda Wise), a glamorous entrepreneur in the Northeast, has a committed open marriage with Richard (Blair Underwood), until two sexy new strangers threaten their aspirational love story.

Maggie (Gabrielle Creevy), a student in North Dakota, weathers an intense storm after accusing her married English teacher (Jason Ralph) of an inappropriate relationship.

Gia (Shailene Woodley), a writer grieving the loss of her family, persuades each of these three spectacular “ordinary” women to tell her their stories and her relationships with them change the course of her life forever.

Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:

On September 9, the finale of 61st Street will air on CW at 9 PM.

The movie The Jane Mysteries: A Deadly Prescription will debut online on September 10 on Hallmark+ (formerly Hallmark Movies Now). Jane Da Silva (Jodie Sweetin) and Detective John Cameron (Stephen Huszar) fight for justice as they race against time to prove the innocence of a wrongly imprisoned teenager.

Also on September 10, the new drama The Chicken Sisters will debut online on Hallmark+ (formerly Hallmark Movies Now). With legendary actress Margo Martindale as the Narrator, this new family drama is dipped in southern charm, served up with a saucy side of romance. The setting is the fictional town of Merinac, where a generations-old rift between dueling fried chicken restaurants – Mimi’s and Frannie’s – has left the founders’ families fractured and the locals taking sides. When the popular cooking competition show Ultimate Kitchen Clash comes to town, it could be the recipe for ending this feud once and for all. But things are fixing to heat up both inside and outside of the kitchen as the reality show spotlight causes sparks to fly as secrets are spilled and feathers get ruffled. The cast includes Lea Thompson, Wendie Malick, Schuyler Fisk, Rukiya Bernard, Genevieve Angelson and Jake Foy.

The new movie Love on the Danube: Love Song will also debut online on September 10 on Hallmark+ (formerly Hallmark Movies Now). A daughter traveling with her widowed mother and a son traveling with his widower father meet on a cruise and decide that their musical parents would make the perfect couple. They, in turn, try to engineer a romance only to fall in love themselves. The cast includes Wes Brown, Nazneen Contractor and Catherine Disher.

Also on September 10, the second Presidential Debate – this time with Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump – will air on ABC at 9 PM.

The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards will air on MTV at 8 PM on September 11.

On September 12, part 2 of season 4 of Emily in Paris will return on Netflix while that same night the second season premiere of The Old Man will air on FX at 10 PM with two back-to-back episodes. And, also on that day, The Chicken Sisters will move to Thursdays online on Hallmark+.

Based on the novel by author Scott Westerfield, the movie centers around a future post-apocalyptic dystopian society in which a compulsory operation wipes out physical differences and makes everyone pretty. The movie stars Joey King, Chase Stokes, Jillian Murray, Laverne Cox, Luke Eisner, Keith Powers, Kevin Miles and Jan Luis Castellanos.

The box office movie Civil War will make its streaming debut on MAX on September 13. A journey across a dystopian future America, following a team of military-embedded journalists as they race against time to reach DC before rebel factions descend upon the White House. The cast includes Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny, Nick Offerman and Jefferson White.

On September 14, the Hallmark Channel movie The Heiress and the Handyman will debut at 8 PM. After losing her fortune, an heiress (Jodie Sweetin) moves to a rural farm where she mistakes her handsome neighbor (Corey Sevier) for the handyman. To live up to her family’s legacy, he helps her compete at the county fair.

The Great American Family movie Love’s Second Act will debut at 8 PM on September 14. Jamie (Jodie Sweetin), an aspiring filmmaker, heads back to her hometown for some inspiration. She finds it in ex-boyfriend, Nick (Tilky Jones), who still works at the small-town movie theater where they both first fell in love.

On September 15, the finale of Emperor of Ocean Park will air on MGM+ at 9 PM while that same night the 76th Annual Emmy Awards will air at 8 PM on ABC; and also that night, the second season of Tulsa King will premiere online on Paramount+.

Lastly also on September 15, the second season of Ridley will premiere on PBS at 8 PM followed by the debut of Moonflower Murders at 9 PM and followed by the 4th season premiere of Van der Valk at 10 PM. The new drama Moonflower Murder, based on the chart-topping books by Anthony Horowitz, is a six-part murder mystery within a murder mystery stars Academy Award nominee Lesley Manville as editor turned sleuth Susan Ryeland, and Timothy McMullan as famous literary detective Atticus Pünd.

RENEWALS/CANCELLATIONS

Hulu has renewed Only Murders in the Building for a 5th season. (TV Line)

MGM+ has pulled the plug on The Winter King after only one season and has also cancelled Beacon 23 after two seasons. (TV Line)

9-1-1: Lone Star will come to an end on FOX at the end of its upcoming 5th season. (TV Line)

Bosch Legacy, the spin-off off Bosch, will end with its upcoming 3rd season on Amazon Prime. (TV Line)

DEVELOPMENT NEWS

A spin-off of Reacher is in the work at Amazon Prime. Exact plot details for the spin-off are being kept under wraps, but it is believed to focus on Frances Neagley (Maria Sten). (Variety)

TV CASTING NEWS

Kelli Giddish will be back as Amanda Rollins on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit for its upcoming 26th season, but she will only be back as a guest star, making “a bunch of appearances throughout the season.” (TV Line)

Jay Hayden (Station 19) will have a recurring role in FBI: International, playing Agent Tyler Booth, an intelligent and charismatic agent in Budapest looking for assistance on a case. (Deadline)

Character actor Ron Canada will appear on season 2 of the NBC drama The Irrational, playing Eli Mercer, the dad to Alec (series lead Jesse L. Martin) and his sister Kylie. (TV Line)

Patricia Arquette will star in a Hulu limited series that will be about the Murdaugh family, a riveting account drawing from countless hours of reporting by Mandy Matney – journalist and creator of the popular Murdaugh Murders Podcast. The Murdaugh family were powerful players in the Lowcountry region of South Caroline, wielding great legal and political influence. But for the better part of a decade, the family has been accused of involvement in a variety of crimes, ranging from fraud to murder. Arquette will play Maggie Murdaugh. (Variety)

BOX OFFICE MOVIE NEWS

Alison Brie will play villain Evil-Lyn in the upcoming live-action Masters of the Universe that will star Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam aka He-Man. (Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter)

Chloe Bennett (Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD) and Phil Dunster (Ted Lasso) will star in the indie feature film Hello Out There, which will center on Minnie (Bennet), a young journalist who embarks on a road trip across New Mexico with her cousin, Rex (Dunster), a punk rock guitarist fresh out of rehab, who is trying to figure out what’s left. Their stated mission: to investigate Area 51 and unearth the truth about extraterrestrial life. But as the journey unfolds, a deeper, more personal reason for their quest comes to light. (Deadline)

Bridgerton alum Phoebe Dynevor will join Zac Efron in the feature film Famous, a provocative Los Angeles-set thriller that explores the dark side of celebrity with Efron playing dual roles: the overzealous fan, Lance Dunkquist, and Hollywood heartthrob, James Jansen. (Deadline)
