Spring TV Reminder: What’s on TV This Week

Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:

On April 3, the new thriller series The Bondsman will debut online on Amazon Prime. Kevin Bacon stars as Hub Halloran, a murdered bounty hunter who’s back from the dead after being resurrected by the Devil to trap and send back demons that have escaped from the prison of Hell. By chasing down those demons with the help and hindrance of his estranged family, Hub learns how his own sins got his soul condemned — which pushes him to seek a second chance at life, love, and country music. The cast includes Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles, Jolene Purdy, Maxwell Jenkins, Damon Herriman and Beth Grant.

The season finale of the biblical drama House of David will air online on Amazon Prime on April 3 while the third season premiere of SurrealEstate will air on Syfy at 10 PM.

Also on April 3, the new medical drama Pulse will debut online on Netflix. A group of ER residents navigate medical crises and personal drama amid a divisive allegation at their Miami hospital. The ensemble cast includes Willa Fitzgerald, Justina Machado, Jessica Rothe, Colin Woodell, Nestor Carbonell, Jessie T. Usher and Daniela Nieves [among others].

The new NBC drama Grosse Pointe Garden Society will move to Friday nights (from Sunday nights) on April 4 at 10 PM.

On April 5, the Hallmark Channel movie Hearts Around the Table: Josh’s Third Serving will debut at 8 PM. When after school programs see their funding cut, Teachers Josh and Ella (Jake Epstein and Stephanie Bennett) turn to fundraising before banding together in search of a larger donation, falling hard along the way. The movie also stars Mindy Cohn.

Lastly, the second season of When Hope Calls, the spin-off of the Hallmark Channel series When Calls the Heart, will premiere on Great American Family (its new home) on April 6 at 8 PM; also that night the finale of the MGM+ drama Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue will air at 9 PM and the finale of The White Lotus will also air on April 6 on HBO at 9 PM.

CBS has given the new medical drama Watson a second season order. (TV Line)

TV CASTING NEWS

Jessica Chastain and Adam Driver will star in the Apple TV+ drama series The Dealer which is being described as a biting exploration of power, class, seduction and culture set inside the glittering world of the high-end art market, told through the eyes of an aspiring super gallerist (Chastain) and the tangled relationship with her most gifted and unnerving artist (Driver). Tom Everett Scott has joined the cast of the Legally Blonde prequel at Amazon Prime Video, starring as Wyatt, the father of Elle Wood (to be played by Lexi Minetree). (Variety)

BOX OFFICE NEWS

Grammy winner Lizzo will play Sister Rosetta Tharpe, the gospel singer who was one of the first to appeal to rock n roll and R&B audiences in the film Rosetta, which will capture a pivotal period in Thrape’s life: one of groundbreaking innovation, defiant passion and secret love. (Deadline)

New Show Introduction: The Bondsman
