Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:
On July 21, the new series The Hunting Wives will debut online on Netflix. This 8-episode series was originally slated to debut on Starz, but was picked up by the streamer instead, focusing on Sophie O’Neil (Brittany Snow) and her family’s move from the East Coast to deep East Texas, where she succumbs to socialite Margo Bank’s (Malin Akerman) irresistible charms – and finds her life consumed by obsession, seduction and murder. The ensemble cast includes Katie Lowes, Chrissy Metz, Dermot Mulroney, Jaime Ray Newman.
The 6 episode British series Red Eye will debut online on Hulu on July 22. Jing Lusi (Crazy Rich Asians) stars as London police officer DS Hana Li, who is escorting Dr. Matthew Nolan (Richard Armitage, The Hobbit franchise) back to Beijing where he has been accused of murder. However, on Flight 357, she finds herself embroiled in an escalating conspiracy and a growing number of murders. The cast includes Lesley Sharp and Jemma Moore.
On July 23, the new limited series Washington Black will debut online on Hulu. Based on the bestselling novel of the same name, the series follows the 19th-century odyssey of George Washington “Wash” Black (Eddie Karanja as young Wash and Ernest Kingsley, Jr. as grown up Wash), an eleven-year-old boy born on a Barbados sugar plantation, whose prodigious scientific mind sets him on a path of unexpected destiny. When a harrowing incident forces Wash to flee, he is thrust into a globe-spanning adventure that challenges and reshapes his understanding of family, freedom and love. As he navigates uncharted lands and impossible odds, Wash finds the courage to imagine a future beyond the confines of the society he was born into. The series includes Sterling K. Brown, Rupert Graves and Tom Ellis among its cast.
The season premiere of Family Law will air on July 23 at 8 PM on CW.
On July 24, the second and final season of The Sandman will air its final six episodes online on Netflix.
The new drama Code of Silence will debut online on Britbox on July 24. The series focuses on Alison Brooks (Rose Ayling-Ellis), a Deaf canteen worker who is struggling to make ends meet, juggling two jobs, while also doing her best to support her Deaf mom, Julie. It’s not long before Alison is pulled into a high-stakes police investigation (since one of her jobs is in a police canteen) when DS Ashleigh Francis (Charlotte Ritchie) asks that she use her lip-reading skills to monitor a dangerous criminal gang. As her interpretation of their covert conversations becomes central to the investigation, Alison is plunged into an exhilarating new world. Her role quickly becomes key to unlocking the police case, but her feelings become complicated when she finds herself drawn to one of the suspects, Liam Barlow (Kieron Moore). Despite knowing the risks and growing threat to her personal life, Alison can’t let go.
The linear debut of the holiday movie Unwrapping Christmas: Olivia’s Reunion will debut on the Hallmark Channel on July 26 at 8 PM. The original movie debuted on Hallmark+ on November 28, 2024.
Lastly also on July 26, the Lifetime movie Before Your Father Finds Us will debut at 8 PM. Hallmark Channel alum Alexa PenaVega stars in the story of a woman who must draw on her faith to hide her and her teen daughter from her violent ex-husband. When Calls the Heart teen actress Jaeda Lily Miller co-stars.
