The new small screen adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo will debut on PBS on March 22 at 10 PM.
Young sailor Edmond Dantès (Sam Clafin from Daisy Jones and the Six and The Hunger Games) is betrayed by those he trusts most and is torn from his fiancé and thrown into a nightmarish prison. But fortune favors patient Dantès: he escapes, claims a hidden treasure, and transforms himself into the enigmatic Count of Monte Cristo to exact thrilling revenge. Can Dantès reclaim justice?
The cast includes legendary actor Jeremy Irons and Blake Ritson (The Gilded Age).
