The latest online series – H+ The Digital Series – debuts today at YouTube and comes from the creative team of producer Bryan Singer (director of Superman Returns), director Stewart Hendler, actor/co-writer John Cabrera and co-writer Cosimo De Tommaso.

This new web series is set in an apocalyptic future where technology has begun to spiral out of control. It is a future where the world’s population has retired its cell phones and laptops in favor of a stunning new device by Hplus Nano Teoranta, an innovative technology company that has found a way to connect the Internet to the human mind 24 hours a day.

But something else is coming. Something dark and vicious and within seconds, billions of people will be dead, opening the door to radical changes in the political and social landscape of the planet prompting survivors to make sense of what went wrong.

The cast includes actors Alexis Denisof (Buffy, the Vampire Slayer and Angel); David Clayton Rogers (Jane By Design) and Amir Arison (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) as well as an international cast that includes Finnish actor Samuel Vauramo, German actress Hannah Herzsprung, U.S. actresses Nikki Crawford and Lela Loren, Italian actress Francesca Fanti and Irish actress Caitriona Balfe [among others].

The following is an article from Rolling Stone regarding a tour by the surviving members of the 1960’s band The Monkees (verbatim):

The Monkees are set to return to the stage this November for a 12-date U.S. tour, marking the first time Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz and Peter Tork have played together since 1997. The tour kicks off at Escondido’s California Center for the Arts on November 8th and finishes at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on December 2.

The trek is also Nesmith’s first with The Monkees since a brief U.K. run in 1997; and of course, it’s the group’s first outing since singer Davy Jones passed away in February. “This seems like a good time to do this – the right time,” says Nesmith. “Who knows when we will get another chance?”

The Monkees will perform a selection of their biggest hits and deeper cuts from their first five albums, as well as music from their film Head and their TV series. Accompanying the tunes will be a multimedia show filled with rare films and photographs.

Jones will be saluted “in the show’s multimedia content,” according to a statement.

Full tour dates below:

November 8 – Escondido, CA at the California Center for the Arts
November 9 – Santa Barbara, CA at The Arlington Theatre
November 10 – Los Angeles, CA at the Greek Theatre
November 11 – Cupertino, CA at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts
November 15 – Minneapolis, MN at the State Theatre
November 16 – Chicago, IL at The Chicago Theatre
November 17 – Cleveland, OH at the Lakewood Civic Auditorium

The following is verbatim via a press release:

Comic-Con and Warner Bros. announced today that the Studio will once again follow the official Comic-Con® International: San Diego ticket distribution system for autograph signings at Comic-Con 2012, with the Con implementing a new procedure for 2012. The Studio will present more than 20 signings at the booth this year, including TV and digital series, as well as motion pictures (see current signing dates below). All signings will be held at the Warner Bros. booth, #4545 on the Comic-Con exhibition floor. For the second straight year, Warner Bros. will distribute wristbands for signings via daily ticket drawings held at the Sails Pavilion inside the San Diego Convention Center, under the long-standing Comic-Con system

NEW FOR THIS YEAR

* For 2012, The Following modifications will be in effect for the wristband line procedure:
* All ticket drawings and wristband distributions for all signings will begin in the morning of the day of the specific signing, when the Sails Pavilion opens to attendees. Badged Comic-Con members can begin lining up as soon as the Sails Pavilion area opens to attendees. The ticket drawings will begin at 8:00 a.m. or shortly thereafter.
* All of the drawings for all signings will now take place in one line on the morning of the signing
* Advisory to fans and attendees: Lines will likely be much longer this year, and we appreciate your patience and understanding

Here’s how it works:

1. Fans identify the signing they want to attend
2. On the morning of the day of the signing they hope to attend, fans should arrive at the Sails Pavilion floor (between Ballroom 20 and Rooms 6A, 6BCF and 6DE) in the morning
3. Ticket distribution for Comic-Con’s random draw will begin when the Sails Pavilion opens to attendees. Badged Comic-Con members can begin lining up as soon as the Sails Pavilion area opens. 4. The ticket drawings will begin at 8:00 a.m. or shortly thereafter.
5. A limited number of wristbands will be available for each signing, via Comic-Con’s random draw process
6. There will be one line for all drawings and signings. We appreciate your patience!
7. The random drawing will determine which fans receive wristbands granting access to each autograph line
8. Fans who obtain wristbands should arrive at the Warner Bros. booth 30 minutes before the signing to line up

Her Universe Doctor Who Apparel

The following is a press release from Her Universe:

Her Universe™, a leader in female genre merchandise, announced today a license with BBC Worldwide, to create a collection of Doctor Who apparel for the ever-growing female fan base for the television show.

Her Universe recognized the burgeoning force of female Doctor Who fans and the need to create unique apparel and merchandise just for them. The international iconic brand and television hit Doctor Who is the longest-running sci-fi series in the world and continues to earn critical acclaim as BBC America’s highest rated series as well as the number 1 downloaded series for iTunes in 2011. The new Doctor Who collection by Her Universe will premiere in July with fashion tops featuring images, characters and phrases from the Doctor Who universe all with fashion-forward designs for girls to look “Geek Chic“. To recognize their female Doctor Who fans, BBC Worldwide has created a special Doctor Who logo which will only appear on merchandise from the Her Universe collection.

Ashley Eckstein, founder of Her Universe and known to sci-fi fans as the voice of Ahsoka Tano on the hit animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars also designed and created the Her Universe merchandise. “Her Universe is a line for the fans,” said Eckstein. “Many of our design choices and decisions are influenced by our fans and Doctor Who was the #1 requested license by fangirls for us to pursue next. It was truly a dream come true when BBC Worldwide asked us to do their female merchandise and I am beyond excited to share this extraordinary announcement with our girls today! In the words of the Doctor, I feel like screaming Geronimo!”

Doctor Who apparel and accessories from the Her Universe collection will be available in the U.S. and Canada at both Her Universe and BBC America Shop and through national retail outlets such as Hot Topic. Throughout 2012, the Doctor Who merchandise will also be available at select conventions including San Diego Comic Con.

Her Universe was launched in 2009 by actress and entrepreneur Ashley Eckstein, and her partner, The Araca Group, known as one of the most innovative theatrical production and merchandise companies in the world. Her Universe was created to directly address the expanding market of female fans by entering into its first agreement with Lucas Licensing to develop and produce a line of female-centered Star Wars apparel and accessories. The success of that line was followed up with a collection for the Syfy network including such shows as Battlestar Galactica and with BBC America for its Doctor Who franchise. You can learn more about Her Universe and purchase the current line of fangirl apparel and accessories by going to Her Universe and by following Eckstein on Twitter and visiting the Her Universe Facebook page.
