Yes folks you read that correctly. According to a report at TV Line, the ABC hit series Castle will NOT be at next month’s Comic Con in San Diego!!!

While there is no “official” explanation for their not attending, Terri Edda Miller, one of the show’s writers, posted on Twitter late last night that “the show was not invited”. GASP! Not invited – What the hell, right?! Well it seems, again according to Ms. Miller: “[ABC has] new shows [to] put forward now”.

The only good thing out of this VERY disappointing news is that Nathan Fillion (who for the uninitiated plays lead character Richard Castle) is slated to make an appearance at the convention, but the details on where he will be, when he will appear or any other details are “still being worked out”.

Castle fans are not going to be happy about this at all (and that includes yours truly)!

The following is nearly verbatim from a press release from Warner Bros. Entertainment:

Warner Bros. Entertainment is the key to excitement at Comic-Con! The Studio has once again created a set of limited-edition collectible hotel key cards, which will be in use at top hotels throughout the San Diego area during Comic-Con 2012. This marks the fifth consecutive year for the popular room key program, giving fans instant access to a usable — and collectible — piece of artwork.

Over 40,000 branded room keys will be available to fans at 38 participating San Diego–area hotels, courtesy of Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing.

For Comic-Con 2012, Warner Bros. has created all-new key cards for three of the Studio’s highly anticipated new fall series:

* The 666 Park Avenue key card grants access to anything you desire — as long as it’s inside your room
* The Arrow key card features star Stephen Amell as the Arrow in an all-new in-character photo
* The Revolution key card opens hotel doors every time — no blackout here!

About the series:

The series also stars Rachael Taylor (Charlie’s Angels), Dave Annable (Brothers & Sisters), Robert Buckley (One Tree Hill), Mercedes Masohn (The Finder), Helena Mattsson (Iron Man 2) and Samantha Logan (Law & Order: SVU). The series stars Stephen Amell (Private Practice), Colin Donnell (Pan Am), Katie Cassidy (Supernatural), David Ramsey (Dexter), Willa Holland (The O.C.) with Susanna Thompson (Dragonfly) and Paul Blackthorne (The River). Revolution: What would you do without it all? In Revolution, an epic adventure thriller from Supernatural’s Eric Kripke, J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and Iron Man’s Jon Favreau, a family struggles to reunite in a post-apocalyptic landscape of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters where every single piece of technology — phones, computers, cars, even lights — has mysteriously blacked out … forever. Revolution stars Billy Burke (Twilight films), Tracy Spiridakos (Being Human), Anna Lise Phillips (Animal Kingdom), Zak Orth (Wet Hot American Summer), Graham Rogers (Memphis Beat), J.D. Pardo (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), David Lyons (The Cape), Maria Howell (The Vampire Diaries) and Tim Guinee (Iron Man films) and is executive produced by Kripke, J.J. Abrams (Fringe) and Bryan Burk (Fringe). Favreau directed the pilot and will serve as co-executive producer of the series, with Kathy Lingg (Fringe) and producer Athena Wickham (Fringe). From Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Bad Robot Productions, Kripke Enterprises and Warner Bros. Television, Revolution will air Mondays at 10/9c on NBC this fall. Riese: Kingdom Falling (Novel)

Did you get swept up in the online series and eventually Syfy supported web series Riese that featured cast members Christine Chatelain (Sanctuary and Supernatural), Ben Cotton (Harper’s Island), Sharon Taylor (Stargate: Atlantis) and Patrick Gilmore (Stargate: Universe) as well as appearances by Allison Mack (Smallville), Ryan Robbins and Emilie Ullerup (Sanctuary) and Alessandro Juliani (Battlestar Galactica) and was narrated by none other than Amanda Tapping (Stargate franchise and Sanctuary)?

Well if you answered yes to that question, you just might want to hit your local bookstore to pick up the prequel hardcover novel “Riese: Kingdom Falling” co-written by series co-creator Ryan Copple and Greg Cox.

Or, you order it at Amazon here

Riese (Web Series)

In the novel “Riese: Kingdom Falling“, Riese has never been happy as a princess; she’d much rather be hunting or fighting than sitting through another lesson on court etiquette. When she meets Micah, a wandering artist with a mysterious past, she pretends to be a peasant—it’s a chance to be just a normal girl with a normal boy for a while. But with war decimating her once-proud nation and the sinister clockwork Sect infiltrating her mother’s court, Riese’s moments with Micah are the only islands of sanity left in a world gone mad. As her kingdom falls and the Sect grows ever stronger, will Riese remain true to her duty as a princess…or risk everything on a boy she barely knows?

Actress Candice Accola (The Vampire Diaries) and actor Reid Ewing (Modern Family) have joined the cast of Alloy Entertainment’s popular web series Dating Rules From My Future Self, which stars Shiri Appleby (Life Unexpected and Roswell), as a twenty-something looking for love with the help of her two best friends and secret texts from her future self.

Accola will play Chloe Cunningham, a 26-year-old who receives a visit from her older, wiser self via face time who texts her advice from 10 years in the future, thanks to an app provided by Appleby’s character. Details on Ewing’s role are, as yet, unavailable.

The six-episode second season begins production in Los Angeles this week and is expected to premiere online in August.

The first season of Dating Rules From My Future Self received nearly 14 million views and ranks as the best-performing short-form series on Hulu to date. During its first week it served as the No. 1 most-watched show and No. 6 most popular video on YouTube. It stands as the company’s most successful web property to date.

The following is a direct excerpt from an article from The L.A. Times:

Comic-Con International, the massive San Diego expo celebrating entertainment of the fantastic, is more than four months away, but it will be the hot topic this weekend: Entrance badges go on sale online Saturday at 8 AM Pacific Standard Time.

Fans that met the February 28 registration deadline to register for a Member ID (a new first step added to the process this year) can purchase badges via Event Planning International Corp. (EPIC). Here’s hoping the rush to secure admittance to the event doesn’t launch the flurry of “epic fail” puns that followed last year’s online badge sales, which crashed Comic-Con’s website on three separate registration opening days. Eventually, on the final attempt in February 2011, the badges sold out in less than one day.

An email Comic-Con International sent out to those with Member IDs today declared, “As you know, because of limited space at the San Diego Convention Center we have had to cap attendance for the last few years. The new Member ID registration process is an attempt to streamline the process of purchasing a badge and hopefully reducing, to a great number, those who purchase badges only for resale.”

The pop culture event runs July 11-15, 2012. Over 126,000 attended last year.

Mark your calendars and be prepared!
