The following comes verbatim from ComicBookResoruces.com regarding the next WonderCon event:

WonderCon, part of Comic-Con International’s (CCI) family of conventions, today announced that the 2012 show will be held March 16-18, and Anaheim, California, will play host to the long-running comics and popular arts convention. San Francisco’s Moscone Center, WonderCon’s traditional venue, will undergo renovations in early 2012, leaving the 25-year-old show in the unenviable position of either being canceled or finding a new venue.

In a move to help alleviate an overcrowded calendar, ReedPop’s C2E2, which has been waiting to announce dates for its own show in March 2012, will now seek alternative dates while Wizard World has announced that it will postpone its April 2012 Anaheim show.

“It certainly was not our wish to move,” commented David Glanzer, director of marketing and public relations for the nonprofit event. “However, when faced with the prospect of canceling the show for a year or moving locations, after careful consideration we decided to keep WonderCon on the 2012 calendar at a venue that could accommodate our needs.”

“We fully understand the challenges of trying to secure dates at any venue, let alone one undergoing renovation,” said Lance Fensterman, Group Vice President of ReedPop. “In an effort to minimize the impact on exhibitors and attendees we are currently looking to shift C2E2 from our traditional March dates.”

Gareb Shamus, CEO of Wizard World offered a unique solution to offset any potential conflict for fans and exhibitors: “All of us who produce conventions know securing dates can often be a frustrating experience especially when you find yourself having to move to a new city.” Shamus continued, “Because of their long history, Wizard World has decided to accommodate WonderCon and postpone our April 2012 Anaheim show.”

“We appreciate the efforts of Lance and Gareb for going above and beyond in making the WonderCon transition more manageable,” said Glanzer.

Adele

According to an article at The Wrap, British-born singer Adele has set a new record for the 21st century. She has topped the Billboard/Soundscan sales chart for a 12th non-consecutive week with her second album called “21” and she has logged more times at No. 1 than any other album to come out since the turn of the millennium.

NOTE: The album is named “21” because that is how old Adele was when she recorded it. (WOW! to sing like that at the age of 21!)

The last album to come close to this chart-topping feat is the album “Supernatural” by Santana, which split its dozen chart-topping weeks between the end of 1999 and the beginning of 2001. Santana’s album went 15-times platinum, an achievement that Adele, nor any other contemporary artist, will be able to match; but “21” has sold 2.9 million copies in a little less than six months.

If you haven’t made yourself familiar with Adele yet, you owe it to yourself to take a listen to her music. Her current hit is “Rolling in the Deep” from her album “21“. You can see the music video here and judge for yourself.

Syfy’s popular series Haven will become the first television series to create a storyline that flows between the show itself and the micro-blogging service Twitter when it launches a special seven-episode arc beginning Friday, August 12, at 10 PM (Eastern and Pacific Time).

In the story, Vince (Richard Donat) and Dave (John Dunsworth), who run the newspaper in Haven, join Twitter as newcomers to the medium. Viewers who follow their characters (@VinceHaven, @DaveHaven) will see them interact with a mysterious Twitter user (@ColdInHaven) who knows more about Haven – and Vince and Dave – than anyone should.

As the special plot unfolds on Twitter, viewers will catch glimpses of it in the show itself, where they’ll be directed to follow the Twitter conversation through special promos. The outcome to the Twitter story will be revealed in the second-season finale on Friday, September 30.

Viewers can follow the story on Twitter with the hashtag #HavenNews as well as here.

Syfy and Twitter will be working together during the seven-week event to measure viewer engagement around the Haven Twitter storyline. The findings will be shared in an online case study, with best practices for any network to use when integrating Twitter directly into a storyline.

Now in its second season, Haven, starring Emily Rose, is based on The Colorado Kid from renowned author Stephen King. The series follows FBI agent Audrey Parker (Rose), who takes up residence in the small town of Haven, Maine, and soon discovers the town’s many secrets.

A longtime refuge for people with an eclectic range of supernatural abilities, Haven also holds the key to unlocking the mysteries of Audrey’s lost past. Among the townspeople are Nathan Wuornos (Lucas Bryant), a handsome local cop with his own supernatural affliction, and Duke Crocker (Eric Balfour), a smuggler and reluctant aide in solving Haven’s troubles.

In preparation for the upcoming fall FOX drama Terra Nova, fans can take part in the Eleventh Pilgrimage, the next voyage of the extraordinary global effort to save the human race, just like what will be depicted in the show. The lottery for this pilgrimage launches today at Live Terra Nova, a social-enabled website where fans can test their qualifications and enter the lottery for the next trip to Terra Nova.

Here are the details:

Fans can join the experience by logging in with their Facebook ID and then submitting to a “retinal scan” sequence. Once the participant’s identity is verified, he/she will be asked to select six Facebook friends as potential team members for the next pilgrimage. Ambitious applicants will begin with an individual psychological evaluation where they will be tested on mental and emotional acumen that generate results instantly. Because “a family is four,” three Facebook friends will be eliminated after this first exercise. Subsequent weekly assessments, beginning on September 5, will test endurance, recall and dexterity, each of which could result in the elimination of an additional friend from the lottery. Users can check the site regularly for updates, including news reports on the dire conditions of 2149.

The Journey to Terra Nova interactive fan experience is currently on the road traveling to 20 markets around the States this summer and early fall. This branded, solar-powered bus features an interactive video green screen, where fans can digitally insert themselves into a scene from the series and then share it with friends via social media outlets by visiting here. Visitors to the mobile experience can watch an exclusive sneak peek of the show, relax while enjoying a futuristic oxygen bar and receive limited-edition Terra Nova Pilgrimage Badges and other collectibles.
