Ksenia Solo

The new FOX pilot called Locke & Key, based on the comic book of the same name by Joe Hill, is building an impressive cast; among them being Miranda Otto (Cashmere Mafia and The Lord of the Rings franchise), Sarah Bolger (The Tudors), Nick Stahl (Carnivale) and Jesse McCartney (Summerland and Greek).

The latest addition to the cast is actress Ksenia Solo, who has a regular role in the Canadian drama Lost Girl, had a recurring role in the fan-favorite CW series Life Unexpected and a role in the Oscar nominated movie Black Swan.

The story behind this new pilot begins with a tragedy when family patriarch Rendell Locke is murdered. His widow, Nina (Otto), moves her three children — 6-year-old Bode (Skylar Gaertner) and teenagers Kinsey (Bolger) and Ty (McCartney) — to the Locke family mansion in Massachusetts, home to the kids’ uncle (Stahl). Once there, evil continues to haunt the family from across the miles and in their midst. The kids discover supernatural keys that unlock doors in Key House. The first key opens a door, and when Bode walks through it, he turns into a ghost.

Standing in for the pilot’s Massachusetts setting is the city of Pittsburgh, where filming is currently being done. If the pilot is ordered to series, more episodes could be filmed in the Steel City.

The show runner for the pilot is Josh Friedman who held the reigns over the FOX drama Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

NOTE: Thanks to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette for some of these details.
