Congratulations are also extended to fellow Glee cast member Jane Lynch for winning in the same category for Best Supporting Actress.

News broke today that the Wonder Woman project for which David E. Kelley has been overseeing for TV was picked up as a pilot by NBC. That news, of course, set off a maelstrom of comments; namely, why does a remake need to be made of yet another 70’s classic not to mention who would play the legendary character.

A number of articles went up today, proclaiming the news and speculating on various actresses who could play the part. To be honest of all the names being thrown around by bloggers and fans alike very few really FIT the part. When you visualize Wonder Woman, you see Lynda Carter who personified the character in the 70’s TV series.

But is there an actress who can fit the bill now? I say there are actually several who could pull off this monumental role. First and foremost, the actress who lands this part must be TALL after all Wonder Woman is an Amazon. She must be beautiful; that is a given. And, she has to have a terrific body. That is a “tall” order, but there are woman in the industry that fit these descriptions.

My choices appear below in no particular order:

Miracle Laurie

Miracle Laurie – Back in April of 2010, I wrote a column at NiceGirlsTV called “If I Were a Casting Agent” where I talked about who I would cast in the much-anticipated Wonder Woman movie that kept being shipped around. Miracle Laurie was my number one choice for the role in that column, and I stand behind that decision. Miracle had a recurring role in the FOX series Dollhouse.

Erica Durance

Erica Durance – Erica has consistently made the dream list of bloggers all over the net for this role simply because she is tall, beautiful and strong. She has proven that she can handle an iconic role and make it her own, playing the legendary Lois Lane in the CW series Smallville for the past 7 seasons.

Nadia Bjorlin

Nadia Bjorlin – This Days of Our Lives beauty has been counted among the many names touted for this role since her early days of the soap opera. Considering Nadia has 12-years’ experience working in soaps she can handle any type of storyline that comes her way and she has the beauty and physique to pull of this role.

Bridget Regan

Bridget Regan – This stunning beauty from the syndicated series Legend of the Seeker has the allure and charm to play this role effortlessly. The experience she gained from working on this series in terms of filming battles, wielding weapons and dealing with costumes would come in handy for portraying Wonder Woman.

So, there you have my top four choices for the legendary role of Wonder Woman. Which actresses would you like to see play this part. Please share.

For the January 20 launch of the new USA Network series Fairly Legal, mediation rallies will be held this Wednesday and Thursday in the following cities: New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and San Francisco

Why mediation rallies? Well, you see, the lead character in the new series Fairly Legal, Kate Reed, (as played by Sarah Shahi) is a lawyer turned mediator so what better way to kick off the show than with these rallies.

The following cities will participate in the rallies on January 19:

New York: At Times Square at 9 AM, at Herald Square at 10:15 AM and at Union Square at Noon

Chicago: At Daley Plaza at 9:15 AM, at Lake/State Street at 10:15 AM and at Michigan Avenue at 11:45 AM

San Francisco: At Union Square at 9:30 AM, at Fisherman’s Wharf at 11:00 AM and at Ghirardelli Square at Noon

Los Angeles: At The Grove at 10:45 AM and on Rodeo Drive at 2:30 PM

Philadelphia: At the Liberty Bell at 9:25 AM and at Rittenhouse Square at 12:15 PM

(There will be mediation rallies on January 20, as well, but those locations are yet to be announced.)

Again, inspired by (fictional) mediator Kate Reed there will be signs at these locations stating “Get Kate. Mediate.” and “No Litigation, Only Mediation,” the mediation rallies hope to encourage people to see mediation, rather than litigation, as the answer to conflict resolution. And to drive the message home, rallies will include the distribution of 60,000 custom “Not So Black and White” cookies from Oui Cater in NYC. Instead of the traditional black and white icing, these special cookies will be gray and white and include the statement: “Justice isn’t always black and white. A classic cookie in a shade of gray. Because for Kate Reed, life is never black and white.

In addition to the cookies, rally participants will hand out cards with information about a sweepstakes where consumers can go here to win an exclusive 5-day trip for two to San Francisco (where the show is set). For each entry, USA will donate $1 to Peace First, an organization that teaches kids how to talk it out rather than act out.

Fairly Legal will premiere January 20 at 10 PM on USA Network.

The executive producers for Glee – Ryan Murphy and Dante Di Loreto – have signed on to oversee the new reality competition series called The Glee Project for Oxygen. Did you participate in the “Name the New Character” for Pretty Little Liars that was part of the People’s Choice Awards? The name choices were Logan, Dylan and Gabriel with the winning name being…[insert drumroll here]…Logan.

It looks like relative newcomer actor-singer Tilky Montgomery Jones will play Logan Reed in the ABC Family drama, making his first appearance in the season 1 finale set for March. Jones has had parts in the films Never Back Down and The Guardian and a “blink and you will miss him” role on One Tree Hill. Here is a you tube video of his singer and guitar talents courtesy of Zap2It.

In point of fact, the folks over at Zap2It announced the above as an exclusive confirmation straight from ABC.
