TELEVISION

BBC One (in the UK) has given a renewal order for a third season to the acclaimed series Luther, which stars Idris Elba. Folks here in the US can expect that new season to air via BBC America at some point. (Mandi Bierly at Entertainment Weekly)

USA has announced they will not be picking up the drama Fairly Legal or the mini-series Political Animals back for a new season, which basically means they have been cancelled. (Michael Ausiello at TV Line and Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

Actress Annie Wersching (24) will guest star in the second season of Touch, which stars her former 24 co-star Kiefer Sutherland. She will play Dr. Kate Gordon, a smart and caring family therapist specializing in early childhood trauma and behavioral issues. Touch will be back on FOX starting on February 1. DEVELOPMENT NEWS

Feature film director Alex Proyas (I, Robot and Dark City) will direct and executive produce a new drama project called Evolve that will be written and executive produced by Jaime Paglia (the co-creator of the popular Syfy series Eureka. This project is based on the Toxic City trilogy of novels by British author Tim Lebbon, which is set two years after a mysterious biological agent is released over Los Angeles. When the city is still deemed too toxic to inhabit and remains sealed off from the rest of society, a small group of ordinary citizens outside the quarantined zone, who do not believe the government’s story, embark on a mission to uncover the truth of what happened to their family members who were inside the affected area. What they discover is a world where once-ordinary humans now have extraordinary abilities and powerful government forces seek to destroy them. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

British actor James D’Arcy (Master And Commander) will star opposite Chloë Sevigny in the A&E drama pilot called Those Who Kill, which is an adaptation of a Danish format that revolves around police detective Catherine Jensen (Sevigny) and forensic profiler Thomas Schaffer (D’Arcy) who possess a deep understanding of the serial killers they hunt. Thomas is described as a handsome and intellectual college psychology teacher with a PhD who focuses on serial killer behavior. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

BOX OFFICE NEWS

Actor Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy) and actress Amanda Seyfried (Red Riding Hood) will star in the upcoming romantic comedy called Wonderful Tonight that chronicles an unlikely love affair between a wealthy bachelor and a free-spirited woman whose one-night stand results in a child. (Tim Kenneally at The Wrap)

Actors Colin Firth and Michael Fassbender are set to star in the true story drama called Genius based on the biography called Max Perkins: Editor of Genius that deals with the real-life tender and complex friendship between literary giant Thomas Wolfe (Fassbender) and renowned editor Max Perkins (Firth). Wolfe became famous from a young age for both his talent and larger-than-life personality. Perkins is one of the most respected literary editors of all time who discovered talent such as F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway. While most writers struggle with their words, Wolfe had the opposite problem and butted heads with Perkins who demanded he keep to a tight word limit. It was a volatile relationship, but one that changed both their lives. (Dark Horizons)

The failed TV pilot Locke & Key could possibly be coming to the big screen in the form of a trilogy with screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman producing. The official synopsis for Locke & Key tells the story of Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion, with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them and home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all. Question: I need some Arrow scoop Please!!!! I’ve become so obsessed with this show, it’s easily my favorite new show of the year. – Grizzelle

Team Watch with Kristin:  Join the club! Arrow has also shot us through our TV-lovin’ hearts. In episode 12, we’re going to meet Laxer, who will be a potential recurring villain for our hero, Oliver Queen. And he’s not some run-of-the-mill nemesis; he’s intense, scary and a real badass.

Question: Any scoop on my favorite Teen Wolf couple Sterek? – Fernanaberry

Team Watch with Kristin: Sadly no, but we can tell you that the MTV hit series is currently looking to cast the role of the strikingly beautiful Heather, a long-time friend of Stiles who is celebrating her 17th birthday. Also popping up in Beacon Hills is the mysterious and raven-haired Cora, a beautiful young woman who’s been hardened by a life on her own and has secret ties to the town’s werewolves.

Question: Do you have any scoop on Tyler, Caroline and Klaus on TVD? – Nelson22

Team Watch with Kristin:  Klaroline fans, you may want to stand up before reading this next tease as you’ll probably start doing a happy dance while reading it: Klaus will continue to drive a wedge between Caroline and Tyler (using his powers of evil) and he’ll be pretty successful as he manages to land the reigning Miss Mystic Falls as his date to this year’s pageant!

Question: Any scoop on Castle you can share? –BJ

Mitovich: You’re starting to see the video sneak peeks of Monday’s Comic-Con-flavored episode, and based on the interview I did today with director/Star Trek: TNG alum Jonathan Frakes, the hour will be chockablock with crowd-pleasing moments. Frakes promises to deliver Nathan Fillion (as Rick) doing an “incredible” William Shatner impression, “much more comedy” than the Season 2 Castle he helmed and all-in-all a “wonderful forum for Beckett to reveal her fangirl side.” (Said simply: There’s photographic evidence of Kate once getting her geek on as a character from the episode’s Nebula-9 show-within-a-show – and her costume just might resurface in an extremely different context before the hour is over.)

Question: I’m absolutely loving the addition of Killian Jones (aka Captain Hook) to Once Upon a Time. Do you have scoop on what’s next for our favorite TV pirate? Any romance in the air, or is it all revenge-y stuff? –Stef

Mitovich: Yes, revenge is important to Hook. But I am told the eyeliner-lovin’ swashbuckler might also develop a soft spot for a certain blonde in a leather jacket.

Question: I am completely in love with Nashville! Got any news on what’s ahead for Deacon and Rayna? –Hilla

Mitovich: Well on Rayna’s side of things, watch for Peggy (played Kimberly Williams-Paisley) – the woman from husband Teddy’s past — to cause friction and doubt in that marriage throughout November sweeps. Meanwhile, Juliette is drawn ever closer to Deacon as he helps her with her drug-addicted mom … until her publicist sets her up in a fauxmance with a Tim Tebow-type football player (played by Pretty Little Liars‘ Tilky Montgomery Jones). Ironically, that all-for-show first date takes a wild turn that could jeopardize the jock’s career.

Question: Any chance that vampire Elena will go head to head with Katherine on The Vampire Diaries? That would be awesome! –Rashad

Mitovich: And showrunner Julie Plec can only agree. “I think it would be a tragic missed opportunity if we didn’t get to see that,” she shares with TVLine. Alas, that’s all she was willing to say on the hot topic. If the face-off of fierce femmes does come to fruition this season, it won’t be any time terribly soon. But you gotta figure it’ll be more than worth the wait.

Question: I was wondering if Death aka Julian Richings will return to Supernatural this season. He always puts people on their toes with his looks and voice he is the perfect Death. –Brad

Mitovich: Taking a page from TVD boss Julie Plec’s playbook, Supernatural showrunner Jeremy Carver had this to say about your fervent wish: “As always on our show, anything can happen.”

Question: Any chance that fans of Haven‘s Nathan/Audrey (Naudrey) will have something to look forward to anytime soon? All this angst and moments with other people is killing us. –Aimee

Mitovich: Your patience, it seems, will be rewarded. “Audrey has been pushing Nathan away to protect him from her own fate,” EP Jim Dunn notes. “But very soon, Audrey will confront a tragedy that makes her realize just how deep her feelings for Nathan really are.” In other news, I have nailed down Laura Vandervoort’s Haven visit: The Smallville alum will appear in the final two episodes of the season, airing Friday, December 14 and Friday, December 21.

TELEVISION

The drama series Common Law, which debuted back in May, has not been picked up for a second season by the USA Network. (Vlada Gelman at TV Line)

Actor Michael Madsen and actress Jennifer Beals will both appear in upcoming episodes of the new FOX drama The Mob Doctor (yes, FOX has not yet cancelled this series). Madsen will appear in two episodes, playing Russell King, a veteran criminal whose crimes require a certain flair and professional expertise. On the night of a big job, King has a flare-up of back pain and discovers he requires immediate surgery. Beals, on the other hand, is expected to appear in at least three episodes, playing Celeste LaPree, a former call girl-turned-high-class madam who used to date Constantine Alexander (William Forsythe) before he went to prison. Celeste is now married to a mafia boss who runs Chicago’s North Side. The Mob Doctor will be back on FOX on November 5. (Liz Raftery at TV Guide)

DEVELOPMENT NEWS

ABC is developing another soap opera/mystery series called Hollywood & Vines in which an A-list actress’s body is discovered lifeless in her pool, sending three sisters from a dynastic Hollywood family into panic mode as each discovers how their lives are connected to and affected by the actress’s death. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

FOX is developing a new drama called Olympus from writer-director (and former actor) Peter Berg that will center on a decorated soldier-turned-spy who finds out he actually is descended from the Greek Gods and may just be humanity’s last hope. FOX also has another Greek mythology series in the works called Athena, which is based on the graphic novel by Lisa Joy, and will follow the coming-of-age story about a 23-year-old woman who discovers she’s Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and warfare. BOX OFFICE NEWS

Actress Jennifer Garner is in talks to star in the long-in-the-works drama called Dallas Buyers Club where she would star alongside Matthew McConaughey. The fill would center on a man who was given six months to live after contracting AIDS in 1986; he lived another six years by illegally smuggling medicine into the U.S., making sure a lot of other sufferers got them too. (Dominic Patten at Deadline)

Q&A SECTION (with Michael Ausiello at TV Line and Team Watch with Kristin at E! Online)

Question: What’s going to happen with Auggie and Annie on Covert Affairs? —Alex

Ausiello: Chris Gorham recently told TVLine that Auggie and Annie are going to have that conversation — and now I can tell you when: the Nov. 20 season finale. It’s “a real game-changer” for the pair, Gorham teases, and “it changes everything.” And if you enjoyed the increase in serialized storylines this season, you’re in luck. ”That’s definitely going to continue,” he promises. “This season, it ended up being an 11-episode arc, and then a five-episode arc. Next season, what they’re talking about is having one long arc for the entire season.”

Question: Anything on my new obsession, Elementary? —Dave

Ausiello: The upcoming two-part November sweeps episode will feature what show runner Rob Doherty calls “a more proper story” for Aidan Quinn’s Captain Gregson. “We had an opportunity to pair Sherlock with Gregson in a really interesting way,” teases the EP. “It was a different kind of story for us.”

Question: Any idea on when we are going to meet Peter Pan and Tinkerbell on Once Upon a Time? – Beth

Team Watch with Kristin: Sadly, it seems like it might be a while as Colin O’Donoghue (Captain Hook) tells us he has yet to film any Neverland scenes (they are currently filming episode 11). In fact, he hasn’t even been told if they are definitely introducing Peter, though he’s hoping OUAT decides to—we hope so too!

Question: Do you have any scoop on Hart of Dixie? Just finished the first season and I’m dying to know what’s next. – Emma

Team Watch with Kristin: We hope you’re caught up on this season because it’s a good one, especially with all the George versus Wade stuff coming up. For the record, Rachel Bilson is a fan of both men for Zoe. “I am totally neutral. The love triangle takes a few different formations, a few different shapes,” she tells us. “There might be a square, because of the love interest for George. There’s a lot to play with.” Bonus scoop: Wilson Bethel will continue to be shirtless. “I think that his costume always is basically half naked,” Bilson laughs. “They really don’t give him clothing anymore.”

ABC is developing a new drama called Black Friday from box feature film writer Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) and executive producer Sheldon Turner (Up In The Air). The project is a thriller that follows a guy who unexpectedly finds himself in the center of a perilous event where he is responsible for the safety of others. The show will follow him as he works to uncover the conspiracy responsible for the event while also following the personal lives of those surrounding him. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

ABC is also developing another drama called Coup from Chris Black, who is a co-executive producer on Mad Men. This is a serialized thriller about a young American man whose wife is taken hostage in an overseas coup, who must join forces with a dangerous mercenary to get her back. BOX OFFICE NEWS

Actresses Olivia Wilde (Tron: Legacy), Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit), and Nicole Beharie (Shame) will star in the upcoming box office film called The Keeping Room that is a period piece that follows two Southern sisters (Wilde and Steinfeld) and an African American slave (Beharie) left alone in the dying days of the Civil War. The trio are soon forced to defend their home from the onslaught of a band of soldiers who have broken off from the fast approaching Union Army. (Dark Horizons)

Question: What’s this about Snow and Charming finding a way to communicate between worlds on Once Upon a Time? — Emily

NATALIE: It’s true. The star-crossed lovers will find a way, but like everything in these worlds, it comes with a price. “They find a direct line of communication that requires a great risk,” Ginnifer Goodwin says. “There’s something very tragic about the fact that the risk that’s taken is potentially a great sacrifice that is made in order to get Emma and Snow White home. There’s something really beautiful about the selflessness that is necessary to communicate.”

Question: Last week’s Last Resort was intense! Give me some more spoilers! — Steve

ADAM: As one might expect, shooting the Secretary of Defense isn’t going to be good for Admiral Shepard. “His actions make it harder for Kylie to interact with him,” executive producer Shawn Ryan says. “I mean, he’s dragged away by Marines, and he just shot the Secretary of Defense. It will certainly have consequences.” As for Capt. Chaplin & Co., they may not need the admiral as an ally to sustain their new civilization. Remember those minerals Sophie was testing for? “If they do exist, do they represent a means of surviving for Marcus and the crew?” Ryan teases. “How does it change the way the outside world views them?”

Question: An obvious Arrow question here: How does no one realize that Oliver is Arrow?! — John

NATALIE: Stephen Amell feels your frustrations, but don’t worry: It won’t be long before that very question is addressed! “It’s like, ‘Hey, he’s shown up to Starling City right at the same time that the vigilante has. How long do they expect us to suspend disbelief?’ I think that we do a good job of presenting questions and that’s an obvious one and it’s not going to take us too long to figure that out,” he says.

The home of Comic-Con will remain San Diego until 2016, extending their contract with the Convention Center in San Diego one additional year beyond the new contract. Next year’s event will be held from July 18 to 21. (Dominic Patten at Deadline)

Actor Mike Colter (Ringer) will join the cast of the mid-season FOX thriller The Following. He will have the recurring role of FBI bureaucrat Nick Donovan. The series is set to debut on January 21. (Michael Ausiello at TV Line)

The ABC political drama Scandal has been given a full season order. (E! Online)

The mid-season NBC mystery soap known as Notorious then was known as Infamous has, once again, undergone a name change. It will now be known as Deception. The series follows a female detective (Meagan Good) who returns undercover to the wealthy and troubled Lawson family she grew up in, as the maid’s daughter, to solve the murder of the notorious heiress Vivian Lawson who was once her closest friend. DEVELOPMENT NEWS

Former 90210 show runner Rebecca Sinclair is coming back to The CW with two new hour-long dramas. First is the untitled drama which centers on a self-obsessed young pop star – the black sheep of her religious family – who isn’t interested in saving anything but her own career, until a fan claims to have been miraculously healed by her touch and word spreads that she has divine powers. The second is called The Lost Girls based on the travel memoir of the same name by Jennifer Baggett, Holly Corbett and Amanda Pressner. The TV project will centers on four very different 20-something American women, each at a point of crisis, who decide to escape their lives and their country by going abroad. While in Cambodia, the wanderers bond, happy to find friends who are equally lost; but when one of the women vanishes under mysterious circumstances, the remaining three pledge to find her, embarking on the real journey, a quest that leads them off the beaten path, around the globe and on the road to finding themselves. Actress Brooke Nevin (Breakout Kings and The 4400) has booked a series regular role in the TNT drama pilot called Trooper that centers on KJ (Mira Sorvino), a recently divorced female state trooper who is as unconventional at work as she is at home raising her three kids. Nevin will play Dakota – KJ’s sister who herself is putting the pieces of her life back together. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

Actor Omid Abtahi (Argo and Last Resort) has been cast in the A&E drama pilot Those Who Kill, an adaptation of a Danish crime series. The project revolves around police detective Catherine Jensen (Chloe Sevigny) and a forensic profiler who possess a deep understanding of the serial killers they hunt. Abtahi will play Jerry Molbeck, a brilliant and dutiful homicide detective who is happy to do research for Catherine as she gets closer to finding a serial killer. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

That’s all I’m going to say at the minute!”

Question: Can we please get some scoop on Kensi and Deeks on NCIS: LA? Or any scoop you have on that show! Love it! – Barbara

Team Watch with Kristin: We talked to LL Cool J about what’s coming up this season, and he seemed borderline giddy (or as close as that man can get to “giddy”) about NCIS: LA exploring Hanna’s life and introducing more family and friends, which of course means they’ll most likely be in danger. When we pressed him for more, he only said that the show is about to get “interesting.”

Actress Mira Sorvino will star in the TNT drama pilot called Trooper (that was original a project at CBS). The project centers on a recently divorced female state trooper (Sorvino) who is as unconventional at work as she is at home raising her three kids. Her partner on the job is a widowed father who has a much more by-the-book approach to policing. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

Actress Rebecca Romijn will star alongside actor Jon Tenney in the TNT pilot called King And Maxwell that follows Sean King (Tenney) and Michelle Maxwell (Romijn), who aren’t the typical pair of private investigators. Both are former Secret Service agents, and their unique skill sets (not to mention their razor-sharp chemistry) often gives them a leg up on suspects and conventional law enforcement. With her striking beauty, athletic prowess and Beltway connections, Maxwell is a formidable investigator, determined to prove herself after being forced to resign from the Secret Service. Actor Joe Flanigan (Stargate: Atlantis) has joined the cast of the Lifetime pilot called The Secret Lives Of Wives inspired by the Iris Krasnow novel, which explores the unvarnished truth behind the marriages of four different women — Michelle (Kim Raver), Reed (Salli Richardson), Keaton (Amber Clayton) and Jessie (Lauren Bittner). Question: I have been loving the flirting between Eric and Nell this season on NCIS: Los Angeles, it has been adorable to witness! Can we hope to see more of it this season and see that relationship continue? – Cheryl

Sandra: Remember the almost-kiss between Nell and Eric earlier this season? Remember how bummed you were that it didn’t happen? Well, be sad no longer: There’s a KISS COMING! “I won’t tell you which episode,” teases executive producer Shane Brennan. “But there is a kiss coming. It’s nerd love!” (Extra hints because I like you: It will air before December and they are NOT on a mission.) Now, before Kensi and Deeks fans cry foul and claim they’ve been waiting for a love connection longer, Brennan is quick to point out that the two couples are on very different paths. “Nerds don’t hang around when it comes to love. They jump right in,” he jokes. “It certainly has developed. It’s an intellectual relationship that sometimes struggles to find its physicality, but that’s the nature of the characters. Whereas Kensi and Deeks there a playfulness and sexy tension.” Look for Nell and Eric to continue to sizzle this season, and, Brennan predicts, “If it’s a race to the end, I think they’re leading Kensi and Deeks.”

Question: I’ll be honest, I was not expecting Dig to be the first person to learn Oliver’s secret on Arrow. But now that he has, I’m completely on board — especially after executive producer Andrew Kreisberg explained to me what’s in store for this new dynamic duo.

Sandra: “Dig finding out is going to rock everyone’s world,” he says. “We always knew early on that we wanted to give Oliver someone to talk to. We didn’t want to constantly have voiceover where he was expressing his thoughts to the audience.” Additionally, Kreisberg says that, in a way, Dig understands Oliver’s predicament better than anyone else, and his view of the young crime fighter isn’t sullied by “preconceived notions of who Oliver Queen was.” “We always say that if Oliver is the dark then Dig is the light and the truth is somewhere in between,” he says. “They really need each other — Oliver needs someone to remind him of the value of life and that the extreme way is not the only way. And that sort of push and pull between the characters has given us so many great episodes because you get to see them not just having fun as partners but also see them wrestle with the morality of this quest they are both on.” But what does Dig get from Oliver? A sense of Purpose. “Since he’s come back and is in personal security, he feels like he’s not making a difference in the world. So teaming up with Oliver certainly gives him the opportunity to do that,” he says.

The USA Network is developing a new legal drama called Shadow Counsel from Law & Order writer Barry Schindel. The project centers on a former Army lawyer who, in order to crack an ongoing investigation, is recruited reluctantly by the FBI as a Shadow Counsel, a “secret” lawyer who operates in the shadows, completely off the record to circumvent existing roadblocks (hired attorneys, interrogators, etc) in classified cases. This project is described as Game Of Thrones meets Marie Antoinette if Marie Antoinette had a girl posse and was coming of age as a warrior queen. The drama project called The Return of Daniel Shepherd – from writer David Hubbard – has landed at HBO. A modern Sense and Sensibility has been sold to CBS by writer Margaret Nagle (Boardwalk Empire). Additionally, she has sold the crime drama called Paradise Falls to FOX. The project revolves around a down-on-his-luck documentary filmmaker sent by a crime reality show to cover a trial of a heinous crime that has engulfed the town of Paradise Falls, Pa. As he looks into the facts, he uncovers corruption and deceit at every turn and realizes the case is merely a smoke screen for the town’s twisted ambition for fame and profit. It looks like FOX is developing another drama with a brilliant but self-destructive professional as the lead, but this time it will be a lawyer instead of a doctor. And then Paige comes back more feisty than ever!”

Question: Since we didn’t get a new episode of Castle this week, can I get some scoop instead? — Jackie

ADAM: Been waiting to see what would happen when Martha Rodgers and Jim Beckett get in a room together? You’ll get your chance during November sweeps! Unfortunately, the family affair happens on the same night Castle and Beckett are stranded without their phones while protecting a witness from the mob. “There’s some tension because they’ve had the ‘meet the folks’ dinner and it hasn’t gone particularly well,” creator Andrew W. Marlowe tells us. So, what’s the problem? “It’s about who Martha is versus who Jim is,” Marlowe says. “It’s a bit of oil and water.”

Question: Got any NCIS scoop about Ziva? — Kristen

ADAM: In addition to a couple of “aw” moments with Tony during November sweeps — including Ziva reminiscing with her partner about her dead sister Talia — executive producer Gary Glasberg promises a “huge Ziva story” right after the holiday break in January. Although the precise details of the arc are still being hammered out, Glasberg confirms that “it’s going to rock Vance’s world” and it will feature the return of Michael Nouri as Ziva’s father, Eli David. “What goes down affects everybody and propels us into [the season’s next chapter],” Glasberg says. “I think it all sticks to the idea of knocking people down and picking them back up again, emotionally and psychologically.”

Question: Is Phoebe Tonkin going to get between my favorite Vampire Diaries couple, Tyler and Caroline? — Jonah

NATALIE: Tonkin’s character Haley has much more on her mind than hooking up with her old friend Tyler. “Haley isn’t there to do anything bad or mess up anyone’s relationship,” Tonkin tells us. “Haley’s a tomboy; she just likes hanging out with the guys!” So what is she coming to town for then? Adds Tonkin, “She’s trying to find out some things about her past and there are people in Mystic Falls holding onto that information that she wants.” Considering she’s a fellow werewolf, those people better watch out!

Question: I’m loving Nashville so far, but I have to know: Is Deacon going to choose Juliette over Rayna? — Amy

ADAM: I’ll just say this: Deacon makes his choice clear in the next episode — but he may have waited too long for anyone to truly benefit. In truth, both Rayna and Juliette will be distracted by family issues: Juliette is forced into closer quarters than she’d like with her junkie mother and Rayna will finally learn exactly why her father looks down on her career as country music’s queen. (Hint: Rayna’s mother probably inspired a few broken-hearted love songs in her day.)

Question: Can I get some scoop about what might be my new favorite show, Arrow? —Katy

Ausiello: This week, of course, marks the debut of DC Comics baddie Deadshot. But it’s Episode 4 (airing Halloween night) that promises to be the show’s first game-changer when, well, let’s just say that someone spies Oliver slipping into his “costume.” And that lookie-loo might not be the only person who gets wise to Arrow’s true identity that episode!

Question: What does Nikita‘s horrible ratings mean for Season 4? —Jarrod

Ausiello: Relax. Breathe. Chill. Let’s get a little deeper into Season 3 before we start worrying about a fourth season, k? Besides, there’s something more pressing you should be freaking out about. Like, what exec producer Craig Silverstein meant when he told my colleague Megan Masters that “no one on the show is safe,” adding, “There’s going to be some direct changes and threats to people in the core group and how you define the core group.”

Question: Any Alex-related Nikita teases you can share? —Jill

Ausiello: Hope you’re patient, because “The bigger Alex stuff is planned for a bit further down the line,” shares Silverstein. “One thing I can tell you is that she starts to flirt with a darker path starting around Episode 4.”

Question: Um, holy Switched at Birth finale bombshell! Any Season 2 scoop? —Lisa

Ausiello: Series creator Lizzy Weiss tells TVLine that the Angelo’s alleged baby mama “will be a huge part of Season 2 in terms of everyone’s responses to her, and what it means for each character to have this potential half-sibling out there.” Bonus Scoop: Next January’s season premiere will also feature a new character, Teo, played by Stephen Lunsford, who is part of “a big new story for Bay that will shake up her world. There will be a new friendship for [her].”

Ausiello: Someone (read: Samantha!) didn’t get the memo: Shawn and Gus are back on the case Wednesday, Feb. 27. And I can confirm exclusively that Full House and 90210 vet Lori Loughlin has just signed on to guest star as a gifted plastic surgeon who rekindles a past relationship with a major character whose identity will not be revealed here. Actor Titus Welliver (Lost) has had to leave the TNT drama pilot called The Last Ship due to a family health emergency. Taking his place is actor Adam Baldwin (Chuck). The project is based on the novel by William Brinkley that centers on the crew of a naval destroyer who, after a global catastrophe decimates the Earth’s population, are forced to confront the reality of their new existence in a world where they are among the only survivors. Baldwin will play Mike Slattery, second in command to Captain Tom Chandler (Eric Dane) onboard the USS Nathan James. He’s a fair man who cares deeply for his family. Actor Nicolas Cage is in talks to take over the lead role in the reboot of The Left Behind 16-book series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins that tells centers around the Christian belief of the Rapture, telling the story of what happened to those left behind after Jesus Christ returned to Earth and brought all Christians to heaven. It follows a group of people who eventually become believers and form a worldwide network to oppose the Antichrist, who rises to power in the years following the Rapture. (Variety and First Showing)

Well, Charlie won’t stay in the dark about it for long, and creator Eric Kripke teases that it will be “pretty explosive” for fans when she finds out. We suggest Miles starts watching his back now.

‘SUPERNATURAL’: ‘THINGS QUICKLY FALL APART’

Intel from Sandra: If you, like me, are still haunted by the image of Castiel calling out to Dean in Purgatory, sit back. I have some interesting intel for you. While talking to Misha Collins about his charitable scavenger hunt (more about that here), he also confirmed a hunch we’d had about the last time Dean saw Cas. It was, in fact, while Dean was exiting Purgatory. But there’s much more to it than that. “That very moment is a pivotal moment. I think Dean is confused about what happened at that moment and won’t actually find out what happened then until episode 7,” he reveals. “It’s going to take a while to see that moment play out.” Suffice to say the truth hurts — especially on this show. But when Cas does return topside, look for him to be “reinvigorated with a sense of purpose,” says Collins. “He essentially feels like he has to do good in order to right the wrongs of his past. So he starts to collaborate with Sam and Dean for that reason — so that he can continue to try to make things right. He’s no longer paying penance, really, because it’s no longer an act of suffering for him. But he’s doing his best to right the wrongs of his past.” Doing so won’t be as easy as he hopes, however. “He’s doing that in ways that help Sam and Dean and then, ultimately, it might also make life — as per usual with the Supernatural universe — complicated for Sam and Dean. At first, it seems like everything is hunky dory. But things quickly fall apart.”

Question: Are they leading up to a Carter/Reese romance? — @MollyFaraday

Sandra: My guess is no. But only because I preach the word of the lovely Taraji P. Henson, who had some majorly insightful thoughts on this would-be pairing. “I think just from being involved and knowing the characters in-depth like I do, I honestly don’t think Reese is capable of that kind of love anymore,” she says. “I don’t think that he has the capacity to give himself up in that way and save lives.” Of course, there’s never any telling what’s in the plans further down the line, but would you agree, fans? Would it be out of character for Reese? (Also, for the record, Henson says she’s “open to it.”)

Question: Please give me some Zoe/Wade scoop! They are the BEST part of Hart of Dixie! — Lara

Sandra: Really? Because I would go with 1) Wade’s abs. 2) Zoe/Wade. But we’re all entitled to our opinions. Anyway, according to Wilson Bethel, there’s plenty in store this season for this pair. “Zoe and Wade fans will be pleased to see where this season is going,” he says. “It’s not all roses by any means, but it’s a lot of fun Zoe-and-Wade stuff. For fans who’ve picked that side in the love triangle, they’ll be pleased.” Plus, Zoe Hart is a stronger woman than I if she can continue NOT falling for the good-looking guy who is constantly ready and willing to help her when she’s in a tough spot.
