Hey All,

Here are the news items for today:

TELEVISION

Actress Archie Panjabi will be leaving The Good Wife at the end of this current season as she has signed with 20th Century Fox TV and should be headlining her own pilot this fall. (Debra Birnbaum at Variety)

Syfy has acquired the new original series called Dark Matter that is based on the graphic novel by Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie. It has been given a 13-episode order that will air in 2015. The story will focus on the crew of a derelict spaceship awakened from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board. Facing threats at every turn, they have to work together to survive a voyage charged with vengeance, betrayal and hidden secrets. (The Futon Critic)

Cast members for the AMC series Humans, based on the Swedish series of the same name, have been announced. The series will be set in a parallel present where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a ‘Synth’ – a highly-developed robotic servant eerily similar to its live counterpart. In the hope of transforming the way they live, one strained suburban family purchases a refurbished synth only to discover that sharing life with a machine has far-reaching and chilling consequences. Among the cast will be William Hurt, who will play George Millican, a widower who has formed a close relationship with his out-of-date synth Odi, who he treats more like a son than a piece of machinery and Colin Morgan (Merlin) who will play Leo, who’s desperately trying to track down someone from his past. (The Futon Critic)

Actress Jes Macallan (Mistresses) will have a multi-episode arc on the new FOX drama Red Band Society, playing Ashley Cole, the sister of Hunter (Daren Kagasoff from The Secret Life of the American Teenager) a new patient at the hospital. (The Deadline Team)

Actor Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica) will appear on NCIS in the often-mentioned, but yet-to-be-seen husband, Jake Malloy, of Special Agent Ellie Bishop (new series regular Emily Wickersham). (Matt Mitovich at TV Line)

Actress Alexandra Breckenridge (American Horror Story) has landed a recurring role on The Walking Dead, but details on what character she will play are being kept under wraps. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

Actress Kim Dickens (Deadwood) has landed a recurring role on the Netflix series House of Cards for the show’s third season that will air in early 2015. The role she will play hasn’t been revealed yet. (Michael Ausiello at TV Line)

Actress Mindy Cohn (The Facts of Life) will appear in an upcoming episode of Bones, playing Valentina, the New Age-focused doula (basically a mid-wife) for Daisy. (Michael Ausiello at TV Line)

Q&A SECTION (with E! Online and Michael Ausiello at TV Line)

Question: I’m worried about Irving on Sleepy Hollow? Is he going to be OK? — Heather

E! Online: Actually, it turns out that selling your soul to the Horseman of War isn’t all bad. “There’s part of signing that contract that does work in his favor,” executive producer Len Wiseman says. “As dark as that is, there’s something in the offer that’s quite hard to turn down. It is something that his character is going to have to struggle with because the temptation is not an easy one to turn his back on.”

Question: What’s coming up on The Flash? — Matt

E! Online: On the October 21 episode, Barry’s loyalties will be tested when he considers using his powers to bust his dad out of prison. Of course, Barry’s adopted father Det. West won’t stand for it. Unfortunately for Barry, circumstances will eventually force him to choose between the two men. Meanwhile, we learn that Barry’s third father figure, Wells, has been waiting to take Barry under his wing for much longer than he lets on.

Question: I can’t wait to “Thank Grimm It’s Friday”! But isn’t Nick going to be handicapped by not being able to see the Wesen woge? — Mark

E! Online: You don’t know the half of it! Not only will Nick have to rely on Trubel to be his seeing-eye-Grimm, but he’ll discover that there’s another problem associated with losing his powers. It turns out that there’s an unintended consequence to the spell that Adalind cast on him that will only get much worse. Can’t that Hexenbiest do anything right?

Question: Felicity Smoak is the best part of Arrow, but will we ever learn about her life before Oliver? — Chris

E! Online: Yes — and soon! Episode 5, which is aptly titled “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak,” will finally fill in the backstory of everyone’s favorite I.T. Girl. “All the flashbacks will be from Felicity’s point of view,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim says. “You’re going to learn a bit more about her father. You’re going to learn a lot about her mother.”

Question: I need some Covert Affairs information. — Nick

E! Online: Unfortunately, Ryan is not doing too hot when Season 5 resumes. But Annie can’t stick around to nurse him back to health. Instead, she’s off to Istanbul to tail Belenko — with some help from an old friend. Oh, and someone dies.

Question: Any scoop on what’s coming up for my favorite Revenge character, Nolan? —Keith

Ausiello: Your favorite character is going to make a bold move on Sunday’s episode, and it’s not going to sit well with Ms. Emily Thorne. The ever-private Emily wants to keep last week’s intruder incident under wraps — especially from a certain cop friend of hers — forcing Nolan to go behind her back to keep her safe.

Question: Any spoilers on Revenge? —Ferlay

Ausiello: How about a nasty spoiler about a certain estranged father? Sunday’s episode reveals a habit of David Clarke’s that we’ve never seen before. No one’s seen it before, in fact, and something tells me he wouldn’t want Victoria catching him in the act.

Question: What do you know about Henry’s plan on Sleepy Hollow? Why does he have that miniaturized version of the town? —Raj

Ausiello: “Every man has a hobby,” executive producer Len Wiseman jokes. “He’s orchestrating a bigger plot and bigger plan. Really, the [3-D] map of Sleepy Hollow is not that different from an operations board. It’s his creepy operations board with his plan.” Though Wiseman and showrunner Mark Goffman won’t spill much about what the Horseman of War has up his sleeve, Goffman does say that there’s a “really tense” scene in the midseason finale, and Henry is in it.

Question: When are we going to see Abbie and Jenny’s mom on Sleepy Hollow? —Courtney

Ausiello: Mid-November. Aunjanue Ellis will debut as Lori Mills in Episode 9, titled “Mama.” Fun fact, courtesy of Goffman: We were originally going to meet Lori in Purgatory in the premiere, but because the Season 2 opener was “a bit of an overstuffed sandwich,” that scene will now air as a dream sequence in Episode 9.

Question: Was that NCIS’ Scottie Thompson in the new Blacklist promo? Who is she playing that is so important to Red? –Dee

Ausiello: Yes, that was her. She’s playing Zoe D’Antonio, a charming blue-color gal who holds a key to Red’s past. Her four-episode arc kicks off on Oct. 20.

Question: Before the first half of Once Upon a Time‘s season ends, will we find out who wrote the storybook? —Tom

Ausiello: Actually, no. As co-creator Eddy Kitsis revealed, Regina and Henry’s “Operation Mongoose is going to be a rather big story for the year. Whereas we are splitting seasons in half, this is a story that will transcend both halves.”

Question: If Maleficent is heading back to Once Upon a Time, does that mean we’ll see Aurora and Prince Phillip too? —B.D.

Ausiello: Oh, you’ll see Sleeping Beauty well before Maleficent’s midseason encore. When we recently chatted up Sarah Bolger, she was already heading back to shoot her second episode of the season, but we’ll first see Aurora in Episode 7, now “out of her princess gear” in Storybrooke. As for Phillip, Julian Morris is currently busy with New Girl, to be followed by Amazon’s Hand of God, but Bolger trusts, “I’m sure he will be [back],” in some capacity.

Question: I saw a very ominous tweet from the lovely Scott Porter which has me worried that Hart of Dixie will end after its upcoming fourth season. Please tell me it isn’t so! —Tina

Ausiello: No official decision has been made about a fifth season, but I’m told producers hedged their bets and wrote a Season 4 finale that could serve as a satisfying series finale, if need be. Probably a smart move considering Dixie barely survived to see a fourth season.

Question: Can you please tell me something about Laurel from Arrow? —Micaela

Ausiello: In addition to mourning Sara alongside familiar faces, the stages of grief also will point Laurel in the direction of a stranger — gym owner Ted “Wildcat” Grant, to be played by Emily Owens alum J.R. Ramirez starting with Episode 3. Meeting through her work for the D.A.’s office, “At first they definitely butt heads, but ultimately he surprises himself with the amount of respect he develops for Laurel,” Katie Cassidy tells us. And as one might surmise, given Laurel’s destiny to claim the Black Canary mantle, Ted is “definitely a part of her journey. He can see the potential that she has, and wants to help her evolve and grow.”

That’s it. Enjoy!

Hey All,

Here are the few news items for today:

TELEVISION

Manhattan has been given a second season order by WGN America. (The Futon Critic)

Actor Hunter Parrish (Weeds and The Good Wife) will appear in the third season of The Following, which will air in early 2015. He will play Kyle, one half of a “murderous” couple. (Andy Swift at TV Line)

DEVELOPMENT NEWS

Pretty Little Liars executive producer and co-showrunner Oliver Goldstick is set to write and executive produce a drama project called The Town for The CW. The project is based on the 2012 ITV mini-series that centers on a young man who starts to investigate his parents’ suicide and begins to suspect they were actually murdered and the entire town is culpable. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

Marc Cherry, creator and executive producer of Desperate Housewives and Devious Maids will team with Under the Dome showrummer Neal Baer on an action-adventure mystery drama project for The CW called Cheerleader Death Squad (I couldn’t make that name up if I wanted to, by the way). This project is described as Heathers meets Alias, centering on a disgraced CIA agent-turned-teacher at an elite Washington D.C. prep school. When he realizes that his students have high-level access through personal connections, he trains a select few to be his eyes and ears into the world of international espionage and help him earn his way back into the agency. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

BOX OFFICE NEWS

Actress Odeya Rush (The Giver) has been cast in the upcoming action-thriller called Hunter’s Prayer. She will play Ella, a young girl who teams up with the assassin hired to wipe out her family to find the person responsible. Actor Sam Worthington is in place to play Lucas, the contract killer who helps Ella navigate the tangled web of hitmen and thugs on her quest for justice. (Jen Yamato at Deadline)

Actor Javier Bardem is in talks to take on the villain role in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean film. (First Showing)

Q&A SECTION (with Kristin dos Santos at E! Online)

Question: I literally cannot wait until Sunday to see Emily and David finally come face to face! What can we expect from Revenge’s big reunion? – Jeaneen

Kristin: Fireworks, of course! “You’re going to see a father and daughter probably bond, although it’s going to be in a very tumultuous way,” Madeleine Stowe spilled to E! News. She also teased that we’ll see more of Victoria’s past, mainly her decision to betray David. “You’re going to find out Victoria never really understood why she did what she did and it’s actually very obvious because Conrad was involved with terrorists and Victoria knowing this, had to choose between her lover or her son’s life.”

Question: How is Sara’s death on Arrow going to affect Laurel and Oliver’s relationship? – Leah

Kristin: Producer Marc Guggenheim promises that their relationship won’t take a hit in the aftermath of that brutal and shocking murder (which I’m still not over, BTW). “It’s funny, I just watched a scene between the two of them in episode 6 where it’s like the sweetest scene,” he said. “I think Sarah’s death pulls them closer together rather than further apart. That’s not to say there aren’t some significant moments of conflict between them also. I mean, that’s one of the reasons we killed Sara off. The amount of story and richness that we get out of it…there’s a scene in episode two where they’re going at it and can’t stand each other. And there’s also a scene in episode 2 where they’re the closest they’ve ever been. And it’s all in the same episode.”

Question: I am a total sucker for the love triangle on Red Band Society! Who will Emma choose? – Madison

Kristin: How’s this for complicated? In an upcoming episode, Emma will kiss one of the boys, but hold hands with the other. And further complicating matters? A new guy possibly catching Emma’s interest.

That’s it. Enjoy!

Hey All,

Here are the news items for today:

TELEVISION

CBS has officially cancelled drama Unforgettable after three seasons. (TV By the Numbers)

Actor Wilson Bethel (Hart of Dixie) has joined the cast of the upcoming ABC drama The Astronaut Wives Club, which is based on thee Lily Koppel book of the same name. The series tells the real story of the women who stood beside some of the biggest heroes in American history during the height of the space race. Bethel will play Scott Carpenter, the most laid-back of the astronauts and husband to Rene Carpenter (Yvonne Strahovski from Chuck). He will juggle both his role on Hart of Dixie and this ABC drama since both shows have a 10-episode order each. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

Actor Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica) has joined the cast of the upcoming drama The Messengers that will air on The CW sometime next year. The show tells the story of five strangers affected when a mysterious object hits Earth. After collapsing, all five individuals come back to life just hours later with inexplicable powers, including strength and the power to heal. But once things begin to become clearer, those affected realize that they might be Earth’s only hope for stopping the Rapture or perhaps, they’re causing it. Bamber will have the recurring role of Vincent Plowman, the unapologetically aggressive co-chairman of Plowman Family Farms, one of the world’s most successful agricultural companies. Along with his older brother Mark, he is the face of a business on the cutting edge of new farming technology that has the potential of eliminating draught and famine worldwide. But in the end, Vincent’s favored son status may uproot his ambitious plans in more ways than one. Actor Riley Smith (True Blood) has also joined the show where he will play Mark Plowman, Vincent’s brother, who is a quiet, salt of the earth type of man you would expect to find walking the fields, not sitting in the boardroom of a powerful farming business. But as a family man, his heart is usually in the right place—especially when it comes to pioneering new ways to feed the world. But the shadow cast by his charismatic and outgoing younger brother has planted some deep resentment along the way that may destroy a lot more than the next harvest. The series is set to star Shantel VanSanten, Jon Fletcher, Sofia Black-D’Elia, JD Pardo, Joel Courtney, Anna Diop, and Diogo Morgado. (Samantha Highfill at Entertainment Weekly)

Gotham has received a full season order from Fox for its freshman season. (Variety)

MINI-SERIES NEWS

Actor Sam Neill (Alcatraz and Jurassic Park) has joined the cast of the upcoming 4-hour mini-series The Dovekeepers based on the Alice Hoffman acclaimed historical novel about four extraordinary women whose lives intersect in a fight for survival at the siege of Masada. Q&A SECTION (with Natalie Abrams at Entertainment Weekly)

Question: Will we see Tom Keen for real on The Blacklist? — Holden

Natalie: Word on the street is that we’ll see him in the flesh soon. But what’s really interesting is that he may find some new allies in a case of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Though the terms “enemy” and “friend” are used very loosely on this show since I hear Red and Berlin might actually team up at some point.

Question: I can’t believe Oliver and Felicity aren’t going to be together. Can you give this Arrow fan any hope? — Tina

Natalie: Executive producer Marc Guggenheim stresses that you should look at that first kiss-turned break up scene at the hospital as the first of a two-parter, which will continue in episode 2. “This is not the last time we’ll hear the words ‘I love you’ in connection with Oliver and Felicity,” he says. “The repercussions of that scene and that storyline in episode one, that’s going to follow them over the course of season 3. It’s not over. We didn’t just hit pause or reset on their relationship. This is just a development in an ongoing relationship for them.”

That’s it. Enjoy!

Q&A SECTION (with Adam Bryant at TV Guide, Michael Ausiello at TV Line and E! Online)

Question: Please tell me that Avery and Juliette are getting back together on Nashville! — Carrie

Adam: Would that I could, Carrie, but it sounds like Avery will continue to nurse his heartbreak with another blonde. “[With] what he’s going through with Juliette, there’s a natural instinct to gravitate toward Scarlett,” Jonathan Jackson says. “Their relationship-slash-friendship runs fairly deep.”

Question: What’s going to happen to Hetty on NCIS: Los Angeles? — Will

Adam: Bad news first: As the end of the last episode suggested, Hetty is in major trouble. “Someone has bought her personal information off the Dark Web, and they know where she lives,” Eric Christian Olsen says. The only silver lining: It doesn’t seem like whoever is pulling the strings wants Hetty dead… yet. “These guys are coming specifically for Hetty,” Olsen teases. “[It’s] like a brown-bag operation in the night… to kidnap her.”

Question: What’s next for Ichabod on Sleepy Hollow? — Kini

Adam: His wife left him for her former fiancé and his son is the Horseman of War — needless to say, Ichabod is struggling right now. But his partner’s got his back. In other words, expect some hilarious bonding time. “Abbie’s trying to teach him to chill out and we do yoga together,” Tom Mison says. “She says, ‘You know, it’s the 21st century. You’re allowed to show your emotions. You’re allowed to open up.'” Ichabod takes Abbie’s advice, but it doesn’t end well. “Things go wrong when he starts following his emotions,” Mison says. Why can’t anything be easy for these guys?

Question: Please say everything’s going to be OK with Castiel on Supernatural. — Pippa

Adam: Although it won’t be smooth sailing, all hope is not lost for the angel with the stolen grace. He just might have to team up with some unseemly allies to save himself. “As long as Metatron is not dead, you can always assume he’ll factor in somehow,” executive producer Jeremy Carver teases. Since Metatron is the one who stole Cas’ grace in the first place, could this mean he’s the key to getting it back?

Question: I’m still devastated that White Collar is ending! What can you say about the Season 6 premiere? — Daniel

Adam: Neal will actually use being kidnapped to his advantage when he learns his captor(s) are the gateway to an elite criminal organization the FBI has been tracking for decades. But after the FBI decided not to release Neal (again!) at the end of last season, will Neal share this information with the Feds or use it to secure his freedom?

Question: How much stock should we put into Kate and Rick’s new wedding date on Castle? —Carrie

Ausiello: They weren’t fibbing, Carrie. The wedding is happening in November.

Question: Got any new information on Captain Cold’s (Wentworth Miller) role on The Flash, beyond his first episode on Oct. 28? —Andy B

Ausiello: DC Comics’ CCO Geoff Johns says the producers “look at Heat a lot, with [Robert] De Niro” for inspiration on Miller’s villain (pictured, below). “He is this guy who pulls jobs very carefully, and, suddenly, [The Flash turns up] and he has to change his game,” Johns explains. “He has to figure out how to deal with this new threat in Central City to his way of life. It’s all about him evolving and surviving the new world order. Guns aren’t going to do it, so he’s got to have something a little bit stronger.” Adds executive producer Andrew Kreisberg: “He’s not the villain that we see in the comics yet. [But] we’re going to get there.”

Question: Loving Scorpion. Any news you can share? —Dylan

Ausiello: Major Spoiler Alert: Paige can sing! It was only a matter of time before CBS’ rookie drama made use of Katharine McPhee’s Smashing pipes, and I’m told that Paige will show off her skills to the team in November. “You don’t hire Katharine McPhee and not have her sing,” a Scorpion insider notes, adding that the musical interlude in Episode 8 is “not long, but it’s very sweet.” It’s hardly a coincidence that the episode in question centers on the death of a prolific music blogger.

Question: I’m really sad to hear that the ratings for Sleepy Hollow have thus far been less than stellar this season. I will be even sadder if it gets cancelled. Should we be worried? —Ross

Ausiello: No one is a bigger worrier than yours truly, Ross, and I’m not the least bit concerned about the axe falling on Ichabod and Abbie. While it is true Sleepy has been losing a decent chunk of its Gotham lead-in, the fact is Fox loves and is completely committed to the show.

BONUS SCOOP: A series regular tells TVLine there will be a “power vacuum” in the second half of the season, and said vacuum “will be fought for.”

Question: I think I might die without some Reign scoop, so please gimme some. —Omotola

Ausiello: Interesting choice of words because death is on everyone’s mind at Court this season — especially newcomer Narcisse, who’s got Mary in his target. “His son has been murdered, and as much as [Narcisse] is seen as a villain, it was his baby boy that Mary threw into that room of plague,” actor Craig Parker says. “There’s an absolute father’s fury there, but it’s tempered by a very savvy political mind. Throughout the episodes we’ve shot so far, there are a number of personal sides to this man, but he’s always playing a political game.”

Question: The wait for Arrow‘s return feels almost cruel. Can you give us an Olicity morsel to help dull the pain until Wednesday’s premiere?! —Sophia

Ausiello: Due to the events of the season premiere — some of which are expected, and some of which are not — Oliver and Felicity’s “relationship is going to take ups and downs and twists and turns,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim teases. “I think part of the fun — or agony — of watching these two people is they’re together, they’re apart, they’re together, they’re apart. We’ll see what the future holds for them.”

Question: Any news or spoilers on Gotham? I’m hooked after only three episodes and I’m curious what’s ahead. —Eric F.

Ausiello: A better question is who’s ahead, and the answer is… Dr. Leslie Thompkins. DC Comics’ aficionados know her as Bruce Wayne’s Godmother, but I hear Gotham is tweaking Batman lore a smidge by also making her a love interest for James Gordon.

Question: What’s coming up this season on Supernatural? – Callie

E! Online: Get ready to see a lot of soul-searching! “This season we’re exploring in terms of theme, ‘You are who you are,'” executive producer Jeremy Carver told us. “Every character is going to have a bit of a reckoning in coming to terms with who they are and making some very hard decisions about the kind of person or the kind of angel or the kind of demon that they are going to be.”

Question: Any scoop on Arrow? – Mark

E! Online: Now that Roy’s suited up in his own (and awesome) version of Ollie’s leather getup, he’s made the transition to a real part of the team, and there will be an episode that dives deep into what that means for the new, young hero. “We made a big deal about Roy joining the team and then didn’t get a chance to do that much with it because we were pushing a lot of other story,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim said about Roy’s earlier storylines that revolved around joining Team Arrow. “You really feel like Roy is a part of Team Arrow and it’s more than just wearing a costume. He’s really present and a member of the group. The trio becomes a quartet.” Plus, episode six will be all about Roy and explore his mentee/mentor relationship with Oliver.

Question: So happy Reign is back in my life. But will there actually be ghosts this season? – Nellie

E! Online: Oh yeah. “We’re seeing some ghosts this season it’s because people were really superstitious,” EP Laurie McCarthy previewed for us. “It’s a castle full of guilty people. Even people who aren’t villains feel a certain guilt for the way they live and what they’re given.” But are they vengeful spirits that may attack? “They’re ghosts that one could imagine n their psyche really,” McCarthy teased. “It’s your personal demons.”

That’s it. Enjoy!

Q&A SECTION (with Matt Mitovich at TV Line)

Question: Do you have any scoop on Once Upon a Time‘s Belle? The appearance of what appears to be The Sorcerer’s Hat from Fantasia has some worried that Rumplestiltskin may again keep secrets from her. –Natalie

Mitovich: Those “some” would be wise to worry. “Rumple certainly seemed to recognize the hat when he saw it. And he certainly seemed to think it was quite important,” co-creator Adam Horowitz teases. “What it is, and why he desires it become important to the story in the near future.” Now, if it cleans your palate any, Robert Carlyle promises that the Belle-centric Episode 6 should be a huge fan-pleaser: “Anyone that loves that [Rumbelle] relationship will really enjoy those scenes.”

Question: While I love Once Upon a Time‘s Hook/Emma, do you have any scoop on what’s in store for our favorite pirate this season outside of romance? I hear he has some conflict with the Knave. –Stef

Mitovich: You heard right. As Michael Socha says of his onetime Merry Man, “He’s a thief and a drunk, so he pisses a few people off” upon arriving in Storybrooke. “He gets locked up. He gets put in jail. He’s naughty. He’s always up to something.” As for the Knave/Hook dynamic, Colin O’Donoghue simply says: “It’s complicated. And I’m going to leave it at that.”

Question: Have you any information on The Fosters‘ Christmas episode? –Tricia

Mitovich: I can tell you that as Callie and Jude spend their first Christmas with the Fosters, Stef feels that Grandma Sharon is a bit excessive with her gift giving — especially when she learns where the money is coming from. Meanwhile, Lena must face her bias against a family member.

Question: Who will be the Big Bad of Supernatural Season 10? –Tom

Mitovich: Would you believe it’s… Sam and Dean? As the Winchesters battle their inner demons — literal and figurative — the show “be introducing, over the course of the season, characters that are very, very, very personal to our main characters,” executive producer Jeremy Carver previews, “and that’s all going to start to snowball into, ‘You are who you are,’ and having to deal with all this and drawing some lines. Of course, there’ll be Bigger Bads that emerge, but the central focus of the season is really on these personal arcs.”

BONUS SCOOP: Carver reveals, “You will most definitely see Charlie’s (played by Felicia Day) return from Oz.”

Question: Any Arrow scoop that is Roy Harper-related? –Andrew

Mitovich: Showrunner Marc Guggenheim says that Roy is more a member of Team Arrow than ever, and not just because he’s got a mod new Arsenal outfit. “He’s really present and a member of this group, so the trio becomes a quartet,” Guggenheim explains. “And that’s definitely true in Episode 6, [which] is a very Roy-centric episode. It speaks, in some ways, to Episode 212 [‘Tremors,’ in which Oliver trained his padawan]. I wouldn’t call it a sequel, but they’re thematically related.” All told, the EP says, “What you see in Season 3 is a much more mentor/mentee, master/apprentice relationship. You really see how Oliver is training this kid to be a hero in his own right.”

Question: Please tell me you have some scoop on Chicago Fire? – Quanita

Mitovich: It looks like Casey could be bound for Chicago P.D. to hash out his issues with Voight. Executive producer Matt Olmstead tells us that a visit from the firefighter is being targeted for the back nine of this season. “It all started with Voight almost losing his mind, trying to convince Casey not to get his own son jammed up, and obviously [he] went too far, apologized for it, copped to it, but Casey’s never going to forgive that,” the EP says. “That day’s coming [where they cross paths]. I’m not quite sure what it’s going to be, but it’ll be powerful.”

Question: Any scoop on Gotham‘s Riddler? –Mason

Mitovich: Given he’s rather mild-mannered (if quirky) thus far, I asked Cory Michael Smith what might ultimately steer Edward Nigma toward his villainous destiny. “He is incredibly well-intentioned… but he’s a little misunderstood and mistreated. He’s certainly abused by Harvey Bullock,” the actor shared. “He’s a brilliant guy who doesn’t have much power but thinks he deserves it, so when he finally starts to taste it, he’ll want more.”

Question: Do you have any Reign news you can divulge? –Cindy

Mitovich: In surveying Francis’ Season 2 journey, EP Laurie McCarthy told us he isn’t about to subject his own child to the life he had growing up under King Henry’s stern thumb. “Francis will have a chance to do it differently with his child by Lola, but it is going to pull him and Mary apart, among other things,” she said. “And they will, in fact, be drawn to others. But whether they’ll give into that temptation or not is anyone’s guess.”

That’s it. Enjoy!

Q&A SECTION (with E! Online, Adam Bryant at TV Guide and Michael Ausiello at TV Line)

Question: You were so right about Robin Lord Taylor on Gotham! He’s amazing as the Penguin. How long do we have to wait until he’s back in the city to get his revenge? – Tom

E! Online: As we all saw Monday night, Oswald Cobblepot is determined to make his way back to his city come hell or high water. And his return will come sooner than you expect!

Question: What’s the word on any female characters on Supernatural this season? – Rachel

E! Online: While females generally don’t have the longest life span on this CW fan-favorite series, the show is currently casting the role of Claire Novak, a 17-year-old tough, angry teenager described as “punk-rock-pretty.” Claire is sarcastic, smart and defiant because of her rough past: she has bounced from foster home to foster home since the death of her father and the disappearance of her mother. Even though Claire is always in trouble, underneath it all she has a big heart. Let’s hope that heart makes her a survivor!

Question: I need some Gotham spoilers! — Brandon

Adam: Yes, Batman is many years in the future, but Monday’s episode will offer up a prototype vigilante who targets Gotham’s most corrupt citizens using weather balloons! (The character and episode are fittingly titled “The Balloonman.”) The case will help Gordon realize that, as long as the GCPD is crooked, vigilantes will continue to rise.

Question: Is there any chance knowledge of the Machine could go public on Person of Interest? — Tyler

Adam: I had the exact same thought, particularly after last season’s finale when Finch seemed almost relieved to be confessing its existence during the “trial.” (His attitude about the Machine this season seemed unchanged.) But executive producer Jonathan Nolan insists that Finch’s faith will be restored. “Finch is kind of stuck in this shadow world, in which you have this group of operators who understand exactly what’s happening,” Nolan says. “We always said our show works best in the shadows. The Machine is the world’s last secret and Finch is kind of stuck with it.”

Question: What will Mary and Francis’ reunion be like on Reign after the way he left? — Bree

Ausiello: As you can imagine, “complicated” doesn’t even begin to describe Francis and Mary’s relationship in Season 2. “There is a connection between Francis and Lola, and he has to have a civil relationship with her, but he’s determined to show Mary that he cares about their relationship more than anything — and he does that through sex,” Toby Regbo says. “He just throws sex at his problems until they go away.”

Question: Some Sleepy Hollow scoop, please? —Becca

Ausiello: Next week’s hour spotlights money that has really bad mojo. “There’s a coin that
Henry puts into circulation around Sleepy Hollow that starts turning people against the ones that they love and they start killing each other, as well,” Tom Mison tells TVLine, adding that the cash has ties to at least two other severely bad moments in human history. Oh, and the Mills sisters will fall under its evil spell.

Question: Anything Ichabod-related from Sleepy Hollow would be more than welcome, thanks. —Jane

Ausiello: Ichabod’s finally learning how to drive! In an upcoming episode, “We see Ichabod and Abbie swap seats,” says Mison, who recently got his own first driver’s license and admits that his lack of experience was evident during production. At one point, the show’s stunt coordinator hopped in the passenger’s seat to talk Mison through a sequence where he was the only person in the shot. “I made one of the leading stunt coordinators on the East Coast whimper,” the actor reports, laughing.

Question: Is the Leo-Emma-Jordi triangle going to be an ongoing source of drama on Red Band Society?

Ausiello: I can answer your question in two words: Mmm. Hmm. But I’ll let series star Charlie Rowe, who plays Leo, flesh out the details. “We are shooting the last couple days of Episode 6,” Rowe reveals, “and things are escalating. We’re almost at the point where a decision is being made in terms of the triangle — and who wins who. There’s a lot of anger and upset involved from both guys, but it’s getting good and juicy.”

Question: Do you have anything to share for Hart of Dixie? —Nicole

Ausiello: A few weeks ago, Matt Mitovich regaled you with a little ditty about Dixie adding a character that sounded like the 2.0 version of Rachel Bilson’s Zoe. Well, allow me to welcome you to Dixie‘s upcoming O.C. reunion, bitch, because Autumn Reeser got the role! Reeser will play Olivia, a very attractive, fashionable and quick-witted New York attorney struggling to make sense of life in BlueBell. She’s set to appear in the Season 4 finale.

That’s it. Enjoy!
