Heusinger will play Max, Abby’s brother and best friend. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

(Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

Q&A SECTION (with Matt Mitovich at TV Line)
Question: Now that Once Upon a Time’s Emma and Hook kissed, and she let go of her walls and fears, is a CaptainSwan relationship possible, or is it too soon? –freak91
Mitovich: Just because old issues have been put to rest, you can count on new ones arising. “There will be some challenges for them,” co-creator Adam Horowitz teases. Eddy Kitsis elaborates, saying, “The very first obstacle is Emma’s guilt over the fact that she just destroyed Regina’s relationship [with Robin Hood],” by transporting Marian to our world. “So there’s a part of her that feels guilt in starting a new romance of her own.”
Question: A Season 2 premiere date is a start. But do you have any Sleepy Hollow scoop to follow up? –Claire
Mitovich: Can I interest you in one of the most curious casting calls I’ve seen in a while? For Season 2, the Fox hit is filling the guest role of Mary, an old flame of Ichabod’s who is as sweet as she is prone to moody fits of jealousy. But that’s not the fun part. This is: Interested actresses “must be comfortable working in the water” and “with wearing prosthetics.”
Question: Any scoop on Beauty and the Beast is much appreciated. Many thanks! –Anna
Mitovich: Oh, you say that now. But then I go and share this Kristen Kreuk tease about the season finale, and…. Well, just read it. “I think the fans would have been pleased [it had been a series finale], but what does happen is there’s a question that [Catherine and Vincent] have to answer about their future and how they want to proceed.” All told, she says the season ender is “rather emotionally traumatic for everybody.” So? Am I still appreciated?
Question: Do you remember the rings on Haven? Nathan found his after his dad’s death and Audrey got hers from Vince. Will we find out something more about those in Season 5? –Natalia
Mitovich: I can assure you that yes, the rings will play a role in the show’s supersized new season.
Question: I like the idea of Lydia being a banshee on Teen Wolf, but are we ever going to find out what she did in the woods when she went missing at the start of Season 2? –Erica
Mitovich: Season 2? Sorry, but I think we both know Teen Wolf isn’t big on going back and revisiting old story lines, especially from the Jackson era. But if you like the idea of Lydia being a banshee, you’ll love Season 4. In the June 23 premiere alone, Ms. Martin comes in contact with someone who knows more about her powers than she does — and who forces her to predict an imminent death.
Question: I would enjoy some Scandal scoop! –Kyle
Mitovich: If you fretted that Joe Morton’s new role on the TNT drama Proof would translate into less Papa Pope, don’t. At least not yet. Morton told me that production on the Jennifer Beals-led series doesn’t begin until January, so Scandal has dibs on him at least through the first half of Season 4. (I also asked the estimable actor for his thoughts on Rowan offing POTUS’ teen son: “I was pleasantly surprised” that they went there, he offered. “I thought it was a perfect way to end the season.”
Question: What we are to expect from Season 2 of The Witches of East End? –Amber
Mitovich: If you’re at all fuzzy on the final moments of the Season 1 finale, you’re in good company. Thanks to some mystical Asgard juju, the Beauchamp ladies don’t remember anything after Penelope’s death — which is probably a good thing, especially for Freya. And speaking of Freya, don’t expect a Frillian reunion anytime soon. Dash’s brother may have survived that attack, but he’s nowhere near East End when Season 2 begins.
Question: Can you confirm if Nadine Velazquez is a series regular for Season 3 of Major Crimes? –Kevin
Mitovich: I can confirm that the My Name Is Earl alum is not a series regular, and as of press time has yet to be booked for a Season 3 encore.
Question: Any last-minute scoop on The Fosters? – Abby
Mitovich: In the new season, premiering June 16, Callie “discovers a lot about her past that she wasn’t aware of,” Maia Mitchell previews — and she’s not just talking about the twist that her dad isn’t her biological father. The bio dad news will, though, leave her brother Jude “concerned because they’ve done everything together and it’s this whole part of her life that he will never be able to be a part of, that he is not involved in. That causes him some anxiety that you definitely see come out later on in the season in a way that I can’t tell you yet.”
Question: What happened to Detective Sully from Castle? After Beckett got her job back, he just disappeared! –Larissa
Mitovich: I delivered your need for Season 6 “housekeeping” to show boss Andrew W. Marlowe, who explained, “Sully is simply working one floor up. He’d come visit more often, but he’d stop the show. And who can afford that in today’s TV climate?”
Pretty Little Liars has been renewed for two more seasons (its 6th and 7th) by ABC Family. The series just got its fifth season underway on Tuesday night. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)
Starz has renewed its new series Power for a 10-episode second season. (The Futon Critic)

Jaffrey will play Aasar Khan, a decorated lieutenant-colonel in the Pakistan intelligence service while O’Keefe will play deputy station chief John Redmond who is stationed in Afghanistan and will clash with Carrie. (Sadie Gennis at TV Guide)
Actress Nicole Gale Andereson (Ravenswood) will be returning to Beauty And the Beast for its third season as a series regular. She plays Catherine Chandler’s (series lead Kristin Kreuk) younger sister. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)
Veteran actors Marion Ross (Happy Days) and Ed Asner (The Mary Tyler Moore Show) will appear in the new ABC Family series Chasing Life, playing April’s (series lead Italia Ricci) grandparents. Chasing Life debuted on Tuesday. (Rebecca Iannucci at TV Line)
Actress Tracy Spiridakos (Revolution) has landed the female lead in the upcoming romantic comedy Byrd & the Bees that will star Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Dracula). She will star as Rebecca Byrd, a young woman who travels to Scotland to find and meet her biological father and winds up meeting her dream guy along the way. (Jeff Sneider at The Wrap)
Actor Guy Pearce will join actress Kristen Stewart and actor Nicholas Hoult in the upcoming futuristic love story called Equals that is set in a future society where emotions have been eradicated and the new breed of humans is called Equals. They live peacefully; but when a disease begins activating in its victims, everything they thought they’d escaped, they are sent away and never seen again. When Silas (Hoult) is infected, he becomes an outcast, but he notices one person who seems to understand what he’s going through, Nia (Stewart), who is able to hide her emotions. The only way for them to ensure their survival is to escape. (Nancy Tartaglione at Deadline)
BOX OFFICE TRAILERS
Q&A SECTION (with Natalie Abrams from TV Guide and Michael Ausiello at TV Line)
Question: Forget Emily, how will Victoria handle David’s return on Revenge? — Micah
Natalie: David won’t be Victoria’s first concern. That honor belongs to Emily, since she put Victoria in the psych ward. “[Victoria] takes stock in the horrible things that Emily has done and the chaos she has rained down on the Grayson family,” executive producer Aaron Harberts told my colleague Robyn Ross. “She’s going to be pissed and she’ll come out swinging. As Emily is trying to create a new, more positive life for herself… Victoria is going to be coming up behind her.” But David will eventually be caught in the middle of that battle. “He’s going to cause a lot of problems because he’s at a point where these two women’s lives intersect,” Harberts says.
Question: What’s coming up for Abbie and Jenny on Sleepy Hollow? — Harriet
Natalie: A sibling love triangle! Although executive producer Heather Kadin says the formerly estranged sisters will be on the “same side” more in Season 2, “there may be a male who might get in the middle of that,” she teases. But what brings the duo closer together? Mommy issues! “Abbie’s story this year really has to do with the relationship with her mother and a lot she didn’t know about as a child,” Kadin says. Even though their mom supposedly died years ago, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see her in the flesh this season. Hit the comments with your casting ideas!
Question: What can you tease about the new characters on Under the Dome this season? — Bekki
Natalie: Two of the new faces — science teacher Rebecca (Karla Crome) and Big Jim’s not-to-be trusted brother-in-law Sam (Eddie Cahill) — will create plenty of drama, particularly with Barbie and Julia. What kind of drama, exactly? Perhaps the kind that ends relationships. “Julia and Barbie face a very, very trying situation in Episode 3 that really puts their relationship to the test,” executive producer Neal Baer tells me. Then again, if the couple can survive Barbie killing Julia’s husband, what can’t they get through?
Question: I cannot wait for White Collar to come back! What can you say about the new season? — Thomas
Natalie: Although I can’t reveal exactly how Peter and the team will — spoiler alert! — find Neal after his abduction in the Season 5 finale, Neal will be back on the job by the second episode. But things won’t be completely back to normal. In fact, it will be Peter who has to run a con in order to get Neal out of a jam. Unfortunately, Peter’s acting talents will be further put to the test when he has to start a fight to create a diversion. Let’s hope he’s not just pretending he can throw a right hook!
Question: Got any Covert Affairs scoop? — Rachel
Natalie: Annie isn’t the only person who has history with Max Martini’s character, Nathan Mueller, a former operative who also went off the grid. Turns out, Auggie worked with him back in the day, and when Nate resurfaces, Auggie calls on another old contact to find out why Nate went rogue in the first place. The reason is the last thing he expects.
Question: Please tell me that Killian is alive on Witches of East End! — Kitra
Natalie: Killian’s fate will be revealed quickly in Season 2 — and where he ends up is not as important as who he ends up with. But the Beauchamp clan has more important issues to deal with, including the fact that they’ve yet to find a cure for Joanna, who is progressively getting worse after being poisoned by Penelope. Though whatever (or whoever!) came through that door from Asgard could be Joanna’s savior, Wendy believes it will be her undoing. Let the catfights begin!
Question: It’s been awhile since Hank had some romance in his life on Royal Pains. Any new love interests on the horizon? — Ramon
Natalie: Yep! Hank will romance a spa owner named Charlotte. And while they have smoking-hot chemistry in the bedroom, they can’t quite get their act together when they’re not between the sheets. Also getting a new love interest is Jeremiah, who’ll put aside his long-standing feelings for Divya when a new woman named Viviana catches his eye.
Question: What’s coming up on Teen Wolf this season? — Mitch
Natalie: When the show returns, the gang goes south of the border to find Derek. Little do they know, Derek is actually with Kate, whom Scott & Co. will be shocked to discover is still alive. But the real surprise waiting for the gang has nothing to do with Kate! Let’s just say Derek has changed in a very peculiar way.
Question: Anything on Castle? The hiatus is already too long. —Rachael
Ausiello: Viewers will witness the immediate fallout from Rick’s fiery car wreck, confirms series creator Andrew Marlowe. Translation: no time jump. (And thus more Beckett wedding dress, albeit possibly singed.) “We feel like, given the way we left off, we have an obligation to start exactly where we ended,” explains the EP. “So we’ll be picking up in real time.”
Question: Revenge Season 4 — hit me! —Jacob
Ausiello: I am not a violent person, Jacob, but I’m about to smack you upside the head with a doozy of a Revenge scoop: Emily’s getting a major new love interest this fall. Details are sparse, but I hear the recurring character will be sexy (duh), charming (double duh) and full of secrets (I made that last one up, but, um, triple duh). Jack/Emily ‘shippers shouldn’t throw in the towel though. Revenge exec producer Aaron Harberts hinted to Variety.com that the bond between the star-crossed lovers will likely intensify in the wake of David’s resurrection. “There’s really only one character on the show who knows the relationship between David Clarke and the girl who was Amanda Clarke, and that’s Jack Porter,” he said. “In a year of Emily asking herself, ‘Who is Amanda Clarke? How do I get back to that?’ Jack’s going to play such a huge component in that.” Harberts also revealed that Season 4 will represent a major shift for the drama. “So much of the show was built on the past, but with Conrad being taken down and with [flight] 197 being put to bed, what we’re most excited about is now the show can start living and breathing in the present.”
Question: Will Dana Tomas, Wu’s childhood crush and good friend, played by Tess Paras, return for Grimm’s fourth season? —Ole
Ausiello: There are no current plans for Dana to resurface, but I’d be shocked — shocked, I tell you — if we don’t see here at least once in Season 4.
Question: Loved the gut-wrenching season opener of Major Crimes. Any idea when we will meet Sykes’ date? –Marijke
Ausiello: “Eventually” seems to be the answer. The very pretty MCDetective “is dating someone,” show boss James Duff confirms, “but she doesn’t want the others to know who yet. No police officer ever wants that — if you only knew the truth about what goes on in a precinct, especially when flowers show up! — so you have to throw down the gauntlet. But yes, we will eventually have to reveal all of that.”
Question: Last Sunday’s Devious Maids flashback revealed that Opal pushed Nicholas’ first wife Dahlia off a bridge, then bought his silence by threatening to expose his role in a second killing. I want to know, though, if Opal was somehow involved in Death No. 2, or if this one’s all on her rich boss. –Liesel
Ausiello: File under “there’s a first time for everything”: Opal bears no guilt in whatever nasty secret Nicholas is hiding — although the latter character’s portrayer, Mark Deklin, reveals that wasn’t initially the writers’ vision. “For quite a long time while we were shooting, the idea was that [Opal] was a part of [the second murder],” Deklin tells TVLine. “But at some point, that changed… Opal wasn’t directly involved. It’s something Nick and Dahlia did — but, of course, you can’t keep anything from your maid.”
Question: Can I please have whatever you have on Teen Wolf? —Natalia
Ausiello: By now, you’ve probably heard a lot about Dylan Sprayberry’s Liam, one of the new lacrosse players in Season 4, but a crucial question still lingers: What is he? That, Natalia, will be answered in the season’s third episode — and it’s not even close to the hour’s wildest reveal. Prepare for a gasp-attack.
Question: I’ll take whatever you got on Suits. —Matt
Ausiello: The new season (premiering Wednesday) will finally shed light on the all-knowing Donna. Explains EP Aaron Korsh: “We [get] some backstory into Donna through some of the things she talks about with Louis. Then we have one pretty fun episode where we get to see what Donna’s doing outside the office. You get to hear her talk about her decision to become a legal secretary and some of her family dynamics growing up.”
Actor Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight) will recur on Suits during its fourth season, which will get under way started tomorrow (June 11). He will play Charles Forstman, a titan of finance with a net worth in the billions and an outsized personality to match. (The Futon Critic)

Q&A SECTION (with Tierney Bricker at E! Online)
Question: Please let us know about all things Stydia (that would be Stiles and Lydia on Teen Wolf)!! – amykinz13
Tierney: In Teen Wolf’s season four premiere on June 23, fans can expect to see Stiles and Lydia hit the club along with Scott, Malia and Kira. Tierney: Seat belts on, Clone Club! “It’s going to be quite a ride,” boss Graeme Manson teased, while his co-genius showrunner John Fawcett added, “It is jam-packed and it’s a thrill ride.” But will it end on a massive cliffhanger a la season one’s final moment? “It’s a little different, but hell yeah,” Manson assured. And yes, we can expect to see Paul factor into the final two episodes with Manson previewing, “Paul may be gone, but he is not forgotten, and he’s important.”

Q&A SECTION (with Matt Mitovich from TV Line)
Question: After all the build-up of Once Upon a Time‘s Regina and Robin being soul mates, please tell me that we aren’t all of the sudden going to find out that the lion tattoo is really common and Robin really wasn’t the man in the pub. –Megan
Mitovich: I’ve seen that “theory” floating around, yeah, but Once co-creator Adam Horowitz shot an arrow right through it when I ran it by him. “No, no, no…. That [flashback scene] was not a misdirect,” he reassures. “The man Regina saw in the tavern with the tattoo was Robin Hood.”
Question: Give me anything on Teen Wolf to help tide me over until June 23! –Mary Kate
Mitovich: A member of Scott’s pack is about go missing in Season 4, and there’s only one man capable of tracking them down. The catch? That man doesn’t technically exist yet. MTV is currently casting the potentially recurring role of Dr. Vallack, a “distinguished” gentleman with a unique ability to “unlock the mystery of a disappearance.” In other words, this won’t be your typical vanishing act.
Question: I will take absolutely anything and everything you can get your hands on about Graceland Season 2, especially if it’s Charlie-related! –Sam
Mitovich: I just screened the season opener, which finds Mike returning to the house under extremely dangerous circumstances, in the midst of pursuing his dream job in D.C. Sadly, in his eyes, things at Graceland have changed, and not for the better. As for Charlie: There have been some developments with regards to her “thing” with Briggs, though as revealed in one scene, she appears distracted by a loose thread from Season 1.
Question: Season 4 of Falling Skies looks insane! We’ve been hearing about potential new aliens coming in. Anything you can tease? –Ganon
Mitovich: That premiere I watched earlier in the week, and the cold open is pretty damn b-a-n-a-n-a-s. One of the new aliens you’ve heard about may give George Lucas reason to phone his lawyers. (In other words, we’re gonna need a bigger can of Off!)
Question: Do you have anything on Hal and Lourdes from Falling Skies? I have been wanting them together since the beginning. –Breanna
Mitovich: Based on what happens in that b-a-n-a-n-a-s cold open, you’d be well advised to exhibit some patience. Because for one thing, when we next see her a few scenes later, Lourdes has… changed.
Question: Got any Orphan Is the New Black scoop? And by that I mean any Orphan Black or OITNB news. –Khaira
Mitovich: “Well, I binged all 13 episodes by 1 pm, and this is what happens….” So I’ll choose Door No. 2 tell you that if you think you know what Orphan star Tatiana Maslany is capable of, prepare to have your mind blown this Saturday — and see a lot of great Felix scenes as a result. Meanwhile, Alison and Donnie turning out to be more similar than they’d both like to admit may just be their blessing. As for our science geeks, Delphine will be on the outside looking in with Cosima after last week’s betrayal.
Question: Are we ever going to see the Major Crimes team together in a relaxed situation — a party or a dinner, for example, in a bar or at Sharon’s condo? –Giulia
Mitovich: Keep your eyes peeled for Season 3′s eighth episode, G, and you’ll get your wish! “After they solve the murder, everybody is hanging out in a happy setting at Sharon’s condo,” show boss James Duff shares, “and for a very good reason.”
Question: Is Anne Dudek set to reprise her role in Season 5 of Covert Affairs? – Mark
Mitovich: I can offer a firm maybe. I’m hearing that in the episodes broken to date, Annie’s sis has yet to resurface, though “there’s always the possibility” that she could be written into one of the later episodes.
Question: Can you give any spoilers on Hart of Dixie, please? –Carol
Mitovich: When the show returns at midseason, expect to meet Dr. Henry Dalton, a gentleman in his late 30s/early 40s who is not only handsome and charming but also one of the richest, most connected men in the South. Dalton is described as “the man that women want and men want to be… a walking Superman.” (Mr. Welling is 37, just sayin’!)
NOTE: That would be Tom Welling of Smallville fame for those who may not be completely aware as to whom Matt Mitovich is referring.

(The Deadline Team)

Savant will play Alan, Maddie’s father and a charismatic politician. Farr will appear in the paranormal pilot Stitchers, which centers on a young woman recruited into a covert government agency to be “stitched” into the minds of the recently deceased, using their memories to investigate murders and decipher mysteries that otherwise would have gone to the grave. Farr will play the brilliant and intrepid Maggie, the head of a secret program at a federal agency that investigates serious crimes. (Philiana Ng at The Hollywood Reporter)

Q&A SECTION (with Natalie Abrams from TV Guide and Michael Ausiello at TV Line)
Question: Anything on Falling Skies? — Deon
Natalie: Tom and Anne’s daughter Alexis has gone through some very interesting changes — including suddenly looking like a Daenerys Targaryen (from Game of Thrones) knock-off. The human-alien hybrid says she believes in peace, but can she really be trusted? Also, with Alexis separated from her parents when the season begins, Tom will look to a past ally for help being reunited with his family.
Question: I need some Sleepy Hollow scoop, ASAP! — Carlton
Natalie: Remember when the producers said that the team would create a creature to combat Headless? Well, that creature now has a name! The new monster, which will be built using Headless’ head, will be called “The Kindred,” according to executive producer Roberto Orci. “It’s sort of a doppelganger of someone you might’ve seen,” he says of the creation. “Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.”
Question: Barbie survives on Under the Dome, right? — Steven
Natalie: Given that the last time we saw Barbie he was thisclose to being hanged in front of the residents of Chester’s Mill, things aren’t looking great. But, just for you, I will officially cross him off the list of those dying in the premiere. However, given the new problems headed Barbie’s way — you might find a clue here — he might wish he was dead.
Question: Is Jane really pregnant on Rizzoli & Isles? — Harrison
Natalie: Yup, and she’s trying to keep it a secret. But that won’t last too long when someone in her inner circle figures out that she’s with child and confirms it with Maura. “Jane is still figuring out how to handle this,” executive producer Jan Nash says. “But she’s definitely pregnant. We didn’t want to throw that out there and not go through with it. Will she keep [the baby]? That’s a different question.”
Question: Should I be worried about Mike’s new secretary on Suits? — Tate
Natalie: Well, executive producer Aaron Korsh does call Amy “his Donna.” The two have a very easygoing chemistry — and already rib each other on lunch orders — but it doesn’t sound like she even has to try to be a third wheel. “There are quite a few bumps for [Mike and Rachel],” Korsh says, ominously adding that he has “decided for sure” whether or not the pair — whom he had wanted to break up last season — will split this year.
Question: So happy Beauty and the Beast is back! But what’s going to happen now that Cat’s been kidnapped? — Maria
Natalie: Why worry? We all know how resourceful Detective Chandler is! Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Vincent returns from being on the lam to look for her. And it sounds like her kidnapping will have long-reaching consequences. “We find out who the guys that have taken her are early in the episode, but they’re not who they seem,” Kristin Kreuk teases. “The episode [sets] the groundwork for what the show will be more like in Season 3.”
Question: Do you have any intel on if Hayden Panettiere’s pregnancy will be written into Nashville next season? —Brooke
Ausiello: I’m told Callie Khouri and her fellow writers are debating this issue as we speak (many of them heard the news around the same time as the general public, which means they’ve only had a week or so to weigh the pros and cons). My guess? Hayden’s baby bump will be incorporated into the show.
Question: Will Rachel Bilson’s pregnancy be written into the fourth season of Hart of Dixie? —Julianne
Ausiello: Unlike the uncertainty surrounding Nashville’s Juliette, I hear Dixie producers have made a decision about whether or not to impregnate Zoe. Unfortunately, they’re not sharing it with anyone. A show source would only confirm that “Rachel will appear in all upcoming episodes.”
Question: This hiatus is killing me. Got any Teen Wolf spoilers? Preferably anything about Stiles? —Stephanie
Ausiello: You’re in luck, Stephanie, because the June 23 premiere is full of Stiles. Not only does he get a chance to play bad ass, which is always fun, but he also has a few intense moments with both of the ladies in his life — one more so than the other. Needless to say, Stiles’ love life won’t become any less complicated in Season 4.
Question: Will Matthew Goode be returning to The Good Wife next season? Finn started growing on me by the finale. —Jennifer
Ausiello: Robert and Michelle King apparently share your enthusiasm, because I can exclusively confirm that Goode will be back in Season 6 as a full-fledged series regular.
Question: Covert Affairs’ Auggie has gotten a lot of promotions in past seasons that haven’t lasted – any promotions this year, and if so, will they stick? –Rhiannon
Ausiello: “No promotions so far this year,” Christopher Gorham answered when we chatted him up at Upfronts, “and I’d be surprised if we see any more of that, because really, Auggie loves what he does, and nothing else really fits.”
Question: What is gonna be the status of Barry and Felicity’s relationship on The Flash and Arrow? –Rachelle
Ausiello: It is hinted in the Flash premiere that Barry’s trip to Starling City (and/or a certain someone he met there!) indeed made an impression on him. But we also see almost immediately that the CSI whiz shares a quite complicated “relationship” with Iris West, the police detective’s daughter he “grew up with” after his mother was murdered/his father arrested. Obviously, the question will be: When will those two ever be on the same page regarding what they feel beyond a “brother/sister” vibe?
Question: Will we get to see Once Upon a Time‘s “Rumbelle” as a married couple, seeing them in their home instead if the shop all the time? Will they have a honeymoon, eventually? Will we see some happy times? –Intarr
Ausiello: Funny you should bust out the H-word. Because in previewing Season 4 — where Rumple will continue to conceal the secret about the true dagger, as well as revisit whatever complicated history he has with that ice queen, Elsa — series co-creator Adam Horowitz said, “There is a list of things that are brewing for Belle and Rumple to deal with, but before they do, let’s let them enjoy their honeymoon.” (Surely he was speaking figuratively, so calm down, everyone.)
Question: Do you have anything on Switched at Birth? —Nikki
Ausiello: Bay and Emmett’s night of passion will be followed by a whole mess of complications — does boyfriend Tank ring a bell? — in the June 16 season opener. And that’s too bad because Emmett could really use Bay’s support when things go from bad to worse with tormentor Matthew.
Question: How will Callie react when she meets her biological father on The Fosters? —Marissa
Ausiello: Better question: How will you react upon seeing Dawson’s Creek‘s Kerr Smith playing dad to a teenager? Also, what makes you think Callie wants to meet her father when the show returns on June 16?
Actress Sonja Sohn (The Wire and Body of Proof) has landed a recurring role on The Originals, play Lenore, a powerful salt-of-the-Earth in New Orleans, who will prove to be quite a foe for Klaus (series lead Joseph Morgan). (Tierney Bricker at E! Online)
Actress Ever Carradine (Eureka and 24) will appear in the TNT drama Major Crimes, playing the role Sharon Beck, the mother who left behind Rusty, the teenager who Captain Raydor (series lead Mary McDonnell) took under her guardianship. Major Crimes is back with a new season on TNT starting on June 9. (Adam Bryant at TV Guide)
Actor Jonathan Keltz has been promoted to series regular on The CW period piece drama Reign when it returns for its second season this fall. He played recurring character Leith, the love interest of lady-in-waiting Greer (series regular Celina Sinden). (Andy Swift at TV Line)
Actress Constance Zimmer (House of Cards and Entourage) has landed a role in the upcoming Lifetime dark comedic drama Un-Real that will star Shiri Appleby (Roswell and Life Unexpected) that takes a behind-the-scenes look at the chaos surrounding the production of a competition dating reality series. Zimmer will play the dispassionate executive producer of the unscripted show, The 10-episodes series is inspired by executive producer Sarah Gertrude Shapiro’s short film Sequin Raze and centers on Rachel (Appleby), a young staffer whose sole job is to manipulate her relationships with and among the contestants to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage the program’s executive producer (Zimmer) demands. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)
Actors Kevin Alejandro (Ugly Betty and Arrow) and Mat Vairo (Revolution) and actresses Sophie Lowe (Once Upon a Time in Wonderland) and India Ennenga (Treme) will star alongside Mark Pellegrino (The Tomorrow People and Lost) in the upcoming A&E drama series The Returned that will be executive produced by Carlton Cuse (EP from Lost). Alejandro will play the town’s authoritative but accessible Sheriff Tommy Moran; Lowe will play Lena and Ennenga will play Camille, Jack’s (Pellegrino) twin daughters. Vairo plays one of the returned, Simon, a musician who comes back 10 years after his death. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline and The Deadline Team)
Actor Corey Stoll (House of Cards and the upcoming The Strain) and actress Laila Robins (Bored To Death) have joined the cast of Homeland. Robins will be a series regular, playing Martha Boyd, the U.S. Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who is professional and put together, with a ship-to-ship voice and personality to match. Meanwhile, Stoll will be a recurring guest star, playing Sandy Bachman, the CIA Chief of Station in Pakistan and a rising star in the agency’s firmament. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)
Actor Brian Van Holt (Cougar Town) has joined the cast of the upcoming Syfy series Ascension that will star Battlestar Galactica alum Tricia Helfer. The new drama is about a starship that was secretly launched from Earth in the year 1963, sending hundreds of men, women and children to populate a new world. Nearly 50 years into the journey, as they approach the point of no return, the mysterious murder of a young woman causes the ship’s population to question the true nature of their mission. Holt will play the ship’s captain William Denninger while Helfer will play his wife Viondra. Ascension is set to air on Syfy in November. (James Hibberd at Entertainment Weekly)

Q&A SECTION (with Tierney Bricker from E! Online)
Question: Hit me up with some scoop on Arrow, would you? – Liam
Tierney: You got it! Prepare to see a different side of former (and current?) baddie Malcolm Merlyn when season three kicks off. “Malcolm’s losing everybody around him in his life for whatever reason. He figured out the last reason he lost Tommy was because he became emotionally connected to somebody. Malcolm can control everybody physically or with money, what’s really interesting now is Malcolm needs to learn how to control people emotionally so he doesn’t lose anybody now,” John Barrowman previewed for us. “That’s what he he’s doing with Thea now because she’s at her emotional low. Malcolm needs to build his family back around him, whoever that may be. He needs Thea as much as she needs him.”
Question: I’m still so upset that Regina is getting her happy ending taken away from her! Is she going to re-embrace her evil side on Once Upon a Time next season? – Rebecca M.
Tienrey: Funny you should bring that up because when we chatted with OUAT co-creator Eddy Kitsis, we asked him that very question. Gird your loins, magic lovers, because hell hath no fury like an evil queen scorned! “We have built 66 episodes of growth for Regina and this is a very big setback,” Kitsis revealed. “The question we want the audience to think about is, ‘How does she handle it?’ It is a very uncomfortable situation for everyone involved, it’s very complicated. She’s done a lot of growing and yet we know what her weaknesses are.” Translation: Emma you had better run, girl!
Question: My friend and I have a Pretty Little Liars bet going on. Do you think that Ali is going to be upset or relieved when she discovers that her mom was murdered? – Britney
Tierney: Luckily you’re not going to have to wait long to find out! With the season five premiere exactly one week away, fans will be treated to a laundry list of shocking answers and heart-pounding reveals. But to help curb your PLL cravings, we’ll go ahead and let executive producer Joseph Dougherty answer that question for you. “I think she’s going to be upset,” the EP explained. “She made up her mind and was going to go back and get some answers, and if this person is not there, she’s not going to get the answers she wanted to get. There are as many unanswered questions in that town for Ali as there are for those other girls.”
