On May 3, the new Netflix movie The Last Summer will debut online.

High school graduates wrestle with love and friendship during their final summer together before heading off to college.

The leads are KJ Apa (Riverdale), Maia Mitchell (Good Trouble and The Fosters), Jacob Latimore (The Chi) and Halston Sage (The Orville).

The cast also includes Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), Sosie Bacon (13 Reasons Why and Here and Now), Gage Golightly (Teen Wolf), Greer Grammer (Awkward), Gabrielle Anwar (Burn Notice) and Ed Quinn (Eureka).

Based on information provided by the Box Office Mojo and some internet research, here are just some of the movies you can expect to see in the movie theatres in May:

UglyDolls
Opens: May 3

Moxy (Kelly Clarkson) and her UglyDoll friends travel to the other side of the mountain where Uglyville nestles and finds the town of Perfection, a place where everyone is perfect.[4] There they encounter Lou (Nick Jonas), who gathers recruits to train for perfection and ultimately find a child in the real world. Eventually, the UglyDolls learn that being oneself is more important than perfection when Moxy meets lonely perfect doll Mandy (Janelle Monae). Other voices include Blake Shelton, Pitbull, Wanda Sykes, Gabriel Iglesias and Emma Roberts [among others].

All Is True
Opens: May 10

After the Globe Theatre burns down in 1613, during a performance of Shakespeare’s play Henry VIII, William Shakespeare (Kenneth Branagh) returns home to Stratford with his wife Anne Hathaway (Judi Dench). The also stars Ian McKellen.

Detective Pikachu
Opens: May 10

The story begins when ace detective Harry Goodman (Paul Kitson) goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim (Justice Smith) to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu (voiced by Ryan Reynolds): a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City—a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world—they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe. The cast also includes Kathryn Newton and Ken Watanabe.

Poms
Opens: May 10

Martha (Diane Keaton), a woman who moves into a retirement community, starts a cheerleading squad with her fellow residents, Sheryl (Jacki Weaver), Olive (Pam Grier) and Alice (Rhea Perlman), proving that it’s never too late to follow your dreams. The film also stars Bruce McGill.

The Hustle
Opens: May 10

Two women (Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson) who get tricked by two men plan revenge against the same ones who wronged them. The cast also includes Tim Blake Nelson and Dean Norris.

Tolkien
Opens: May 10

As a child, J. R. R. Tolkien (Nicholas Hoult) becomes friends with a group of fellow artists and writers at his school, with whom he finds inspiration and courage. Their bond of fellowship grows with the years, as they experience life together. Meanwhile, Tolkien meets Edith Bratt (Lily Collins) with whom he falls in love. But when World War I breaks out, Tolkien’s relationships with his friends are tested, an act which threatens to tear their “fellowship” apart. The film also stars Colm Meaney, Derek Jacobi and Laura Donnelly (Outlander).

A Dog’s Journey
Opens: May 17

Set after the events of A Dog’s Purpose, Bailey (voiced by Josh Gad) the dog lives his happy life on the Michigan farm of his “boy” Ethan (Dennis Quaid), his wife Hannah (Marg Helgenberger taking over the role from Peggy Lipton), and their granddaughter Calista Jane “CJ”. The problem is that CJ’s troublesome mom decides to take and steal CJ away. As Bailey’s soul prepares to leave this life for a new one, he makes a promise to Ethan to find CJ and protect CJ at any cost. Thus begins Bailey’s adventure through multiple lives filled with love, friendship and devotion as he, CJ, and CJ’s best friend Trent experience joy and heartbreak, music and laughter, and few really good belly rubs. The film also stars Betty Gilpin.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum
Opens: May 17

Still on the run following his assassination of Santino D’Antonio in the Continental, and with a $14 million global contract on him, Jonathan “John” Wick (Keanu Reeves) is banned from every Continental service, which forces him to fight his way out of New York City with the help of a hitwoman (Halle Berry) who still trusts him. The cast includes Laurence Fishburne, Mark Dacascos, Lance Reddick, Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane, Robin Lord Taylor and John Leguizamo.

The Sun Is Also a Star
Opens: May 17

Natasha Kingsley (Yara Shahidi) is a young quantum physics student who, on an ordinary day, meets a charming young exchange student, Daniel Bae (Charles Melton). The two quickly form a romantic relationship but must struggle to keep it together in the wake of Natasha’s family facing deportation from their home.

Aladdin
Opens: May 24

Young Aladdin (Mena Massoud) embarks on a magical adventure after finding a lamp that releases a wisecracking genie (Will Smith). The cast includes Naomi Scott as Princess Jasmine, Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders, Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, Navid Negahban as The Sultan and the voice of Alan Tudyk as Jafar’s sardonic parrot companion Iago.

Rocketman
Opens: May 31

The film tells the story of Elton John’s (Taron Egerton) life, from his years as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music, through his influential and enduring musical partnership with Bernie Taupin (Jamie Bell) as well as his struggles with depression, substance abuse and acceptance of his sexual orientation. The cast includes Richard Madden (Game of Thrones and Cinderella) and Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help).

The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie Morning Show Mysteries: Death By Design will debut on April 28 at 9 PM.

When a beloved supermarket owner is killed in the early morning hours before opening, restauranteur and TV chef Billie Blessings (Holly Robinson Peete) becomes involved in the investigation of what quickly appears to be the work of a clever and darkly sinister serial killer. Even as her relationship with police detective Ian Jackson (Rick Fox) begins to take a more romantic turn, Billie cannot resist involvement in the case, despite putting herself in tremendous danger.

The Hallmark Channel movie Easter Under Wraps will debut on April 20 at 8 PM.

Marketing director at Cavendish Chocolates, Erika (Fiona Gubelmann) goes undercover to see why sales have declined and learns from handsome chocolatier Bryan (Brendan Penny) automation has replaced quality. Later, at the museum, Erika is saddened to see the replica of the Cavendish egg, and is inspired by Bryan’s Easter egg sketches to go retro and bring back the legendary confection! Excited, the two pitch the idea to board members, who know Erika is undercover. Too bad Bryan sees her photo at a Cavendish event, and feeling duped, wonders if he should accept a job offer from a rival company.

On April 19, the Netflix movie Someone Great will debut online.

An aspiring music journalist, Jenny (Gina Rodriguez from Jane the Virgin), has just landed her dream job at an iconic magazine and is about to move to San Francisco. Rather than do long distance, her boyfriend of nine years, Nick (Lakeith Stanfield from Get Out) decides to call it quits. To nurse her broken heart, Jenny gathers up her two best friends, Erin and Blair (DeWanda Wise from She’s Gotta Have It and Brittany Snow from Pitch Perfect), for one outrageous last adventure in New York City.

The cast includes Rosario Dawson (Daredevil).

The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie Morning Show Mysteries: A Murder in Mind will debut on April 14 at 9 PM.

Billie Blessings (Holly Robinson Peete) is drawn into a murder investigation when Katie Sanders, a former server at Blessings-turned TV star, becomes the focus when it’s discovered the victim was blackmailing her. Billie must sift through the mounting evidence – and list of suspects – to get to the truth and clear her friend’s name.

Rick Fox also stars.

This new adaptation of the classic novel stars Dominic West (The Affair and The Hour) as Jean Valjean, David Oyelowo (Selma) as Javert, Lily Collins (Rules Don’t Apply) as Fantine, as well as Oscar winner Olivia Colman.

The new movie Bottled with Love will debut on the Hallmark Channel on April 13 at 8 PM.

Abbey (Bethany Joy Lenz) is a career-focused executive from Boston who decides in a moment of impulsiveness, to pour her feelings out and admit her desire to find love, in an anonymous letter she seals in a bottle and tosses into Boston Harbor.

Months later, the bottle washes ashore in Maine and is discovered by Nick (Andrew Walker), son of the CEO of Everett Valley Farms – the company where Abbey works and is about to secure the biggest deal of her career. When Nick is called home to help with his father’s company, he decides to contact the mystery woman with the only information he has – an email.

Without knowing each other’s identity, Abbey and Nick begin an online relationship which becomes a budding romance, while at the same time, they are being forced to work together on a project where they are not getting along.
