Based on information provided by the Box Office Mojo and some internet research, here are just some of the movies you can expect to see in the movie theatres in June:

Approaching the Unknown
Opens: June 3

Captain William Stanaforth (Mark Strong) is on a one-way solo mission to Mars, taking humanity’s first steps towards colonizing it. Although the entire world is watching him, he is completely alone in a dark and distant sea of stars. Stanaforth rockets bravely through space facing insurmountable odds, but as the journey takes a toll on his life-sustaining systems, he is forced to make impossible choices that threaten his sanity, mission and very existence. The cast includes Luke Wilson and Sanaa Lathan.

Me Before You
Opens: June 3

Young and quirky Louisa “Lou” Clark (Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones) moves from one job to the next to help her family make ends meet. Her cheerful attitude is put to the test when she becomes a caregiver for Will Traynor (Sam Claflin from The Hunger Games franchise), a wealthy young banker left paralyzed from an accident two years earlier. Will’s cynical outlook starts to change when Louisa shows him that life is worth living. As their bond deepens, their lives and hearts change in ways neither one could have imagined. The cast includes Janet McTeer, Charles Dance, Brendan Coyle and Jenna Coleman.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows
Opens: June 3

The Turtles come into conflict with T.C.R.I. scientist Dr. Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and the return of their enemy, The Shredder (Brian Tee), who has hired Stockman to create mutants of his own in the form of Bebop and Rocksteady to even the score, during which the Turtles discover a Retro-Mutagen in hopes they can become humans. Following an extraterrestrial invasion above New York City led by the Dimension X inhabitant known as Krang. Upon Krang’s Invasion, the Turtles are joined in the fight with their Master Splinter, their human friends April O’Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett) and new friend, vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell from Arrow). The film also stars William Fichtner and Brittany Ishibashi.

Genius
Opens: June 10

The story of Genius follows the story of American Southern writer Thomas Wolfe (Jude Law) and his connections with New Yorker Maxwell Perkins (Colin Firth), the publisher. Perkins had already previously published works by the great American writers Ernest Hemingway (Dominic West) and F. Scott Fitzgerald (Guy Pearce). The story also follows the almost “romantic” affair between Wolfe and Perkins. The cast also includes Nicole Kidman and Laura Linney.

Now You See Me 2
Opens: June 10

The illusionists (Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco and Lizzy Caplan) known as the Four Horsemen must perform an unprecedented stunt to clear their names and expose the unethical practices of a tech magnate. The film also stars Mark Ruffalo, Daniel Radcliffe, Sanaa Lathan, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman.

Warcraft
Opens: June 10

Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization, led by the humans, faces a fearsome race of invaders: orc warriors fleeing their dying world of Draenor to find their place in another. As a gateway known as the Dark Portal opens to connect the two worlds, the humans face destruction while the orcs face extinction. Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel from Vikings), leader of the humans, and Durotan (Toby Kebbell from Fantastic Four), leader of the orcs, are then sent on a collision course that will decide the fate of their families, their people and their home. The film also stars Paula Patton, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga, Clancy Brown, Anna Galvin and Callum Keith Rennie.

Finding Dory
Opens: June 17

Six months after the events of the first film, Dory suddenly recalls her childhood memories. Remembering something about “the jewel of Morro Bay, California”, accompanied by Nemo and Marlin, she sets out to find her family. She arrives at the Monterey Marine Life Institute, where she meets Bailey, a white beluga whale; Destiny, a whale shark; and Hank, an octopus, who becomes her guide. Voices will be provided by Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Hayden Rolence, Diane Keaton, Eugene Levy, Ed O’Neill, Ty Burrell, Willem Dafoe, Idris Elba, Dominic West, Bill Hader and Sigourney Weaver.

Free State of Jones
Opens: June 24

After surviving the 1862 Battle of Corinth during the Civil War, Newton Knight (Matthew McConaughey), a poor farmer from Mississippi, leads a group of small farmers and local slaves in an armed rebellion against the Confederacy in Jones County. Knight subsequently marries a former enslaved woman, Rachel (Gugu Mbatha-Raw). He establishes a mixed-race community, unique in the post-war South. The film also stars Keri Russell, Mahershala Ali and Brendan Gleeson.

Independence Day: Resurgence
Opens: June 24

Twenty years after the events of the first film, the international community recovers and the United Nations creates the Earth Space Defense (ESD), a united global defense program that serves as Earth’s early warning system and the main defense force using technology salvaged from remains of the alien forces, with some military forces assembled on the Moon, Mars and Rhea. However, the aliens were able to send a distress signal to their other battalions before their final defeat while others went into hiding elsewhere around the world. The aliens in deep space received the signal and sent a larger and more powerful battle fleet, threatening the human race once more, this time, with a gravitational machine. The cast includes Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe, Sela Ward, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner and William Fichtner.

Roots

On May 30, a new adaptation of the legendary book Roots will debut simultaneously on A&E, Lifetime and the History Channel at 9 PM.

The four-night, eight-hour event series recounts the journey of one family and their will to survive and ultimately carry on their legacy despite hardship.

The cast includes Anika Noni Rose, Anna Paquin, Derek Luke, Forest Whitaker, James Purefoy, Jonathan Rhys Myers, Lane Garrison, Matthew Goode, Mekhi Phifer, Erica Tazel, Emayatzy Corinealdi and introducing Malachi Kirby.

The Dresser

The original Starz movie The Dresser will debut on May 30 at 9 PM.

Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Anthony Hopkins star together in the story of one fateful night, backstage in a small regional theatre during World War II as a troupe of touring actors stages a production of Shakespeare’s King Lear.

The cast includes Emily Watson.

All The Way

On May 21, the HBO film All The Way will debut at 8 PM.

Lyndon B. Johnson (Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad) becomes the President of the United States in the chaotic aftermath of JFK’s assassination and spends his first year in office to quickly pass the Civil Rights Act.

Anthony Mackie (Captain America franchise) will star as Martin Luther King, Jr., Bradley Whitford (The West Wing) as Hubert Humphrey, Melissa Leo (The Fighter) as Lady Bird Johnson and Stephen Root (No Country For Old Men) as J. Edgar Hoover.

The cast also includes Joe Morton (Scandal) and Frank Langella (The Americans).

Date With Love

The new Hallmark Channel movie Date With Love will debut on May 21 at 9 PM.

When a small-town boy’s video “promposal” to a star goes viral, it scores him a date to prom with his celebrity crush. But when the star begins to fall for the boy’s teacher, things get complicated.

The film stars Shenae Grimes-Beech (90210), Andrew Walker (the Hallmark movies Dashing Through the Snow, A Bride for Christmas and Bridal Wave) and Bailee Madison (Good Witch).

The Game of Love

The new UP Channel movie The Game of Love will debut on May 15 at 7 PM.

Jake Cornell (Lochlyn Munro), third-generation owner of the Seattle Cougars basketball team, has devoted his entire life to his work, though he is still very attracted to his charming, smart, and unavailable ex-wife Frankie (Heather Locklear). Frankie has a weakness though – an undeniable attraction and connection to the infuriating man she’s divorced, not once, but twice.

Now that they are no longer together, Jake and Frankie, along with their two adult children Barton (Tom Stevens) and Alexandria (Emily Tennant), disagree on the future of the team. Jake’s about to lose the one thing he loves the most – the Seattle Cougars – to the other love of his life, Frankie. Sparks fly as Frankie takes over the front office. Will the team that drove them apart actually end up being the thing that brings them together for good?

A Time to Dance

On May 15, the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original movie Karen Kingsbury’s A Time to Dance will air at 9 PM.

The film tells the story of Abby (Jennie Garth) and John (Dan Payne) Reynolds, a married couple who have been together since their days as high school sweethearts – when John was a football hero and Abby dreamed of becoming a writer. Now in their forties, Abby is a restaurant critic for a local newspaper and John is a football coach at their son’s high school.

Though their seemingly perfect marriage is the envy of their peers, the truth is that they have fallen out of love, and plan to announce their impending divorce during their daughter Nicole’s upcoming college break. But John and Abby’s plan takes a turn when an elated Nicole surprises them with an announcement that she has gotten engaged. Not wanting to put a damper on Nicole’s cherished event, John and Abby agree to wait until after her wedding to tell her about their divorce. With the clock ticking and John and Abby helping Nicole prepare for her wedding day, they may have one last chance to again find their love.

Corbin Bernsen also stars as Abby’s father.

Tulips in Spring

The new Hallmark Channel movie Tulips in Spring will debut on May 14 at 9 PM.

At Payden Farms, Rose (Fiona Gubelmann from Wilfred) meets Tom Novak (Lucas Bryant from Haven) — a handsome “flower broker” who acts as a liaison between the farm and local distributors — and discovers that the farm is faltering financially and that her parents are considering selling it to a ruthless competitor.

As a last-ditch effort, Tom arranges for Frank to enter his most special tulip in an upcoming flower contest with the hopes of achieving national recognition and generating business. But when Frank’s flowers are mysteriously sabotaged, Rose struggles to find a way to get them to bloom in time for the competition.

Along the way, she finds herself appreciating her humble beginnings, reconciling with Frank, and falling into a blossoming romance with Tom. With time running out, Rose must rediscover her green thumb to save her family’s farm, and decide whether she’ll find true happiness — and true love — by staying in Los Angeles or returning to her folksy hometown.

One year after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, another international incident involving the Avenger resulting in collateral damage occurs, prompting politicians to form a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to call in the team. When Steve Rogers attempts to protect his friend Bucky Barnes from this act, he is brought into conflict with Tony Stark. This results in the fracturing of the Avengers into two opposing factions—one led by Rogers, who wishes to operate without regulation, and the other by Stark, who supports government oversight—while the world is threatened by a new enemy. The cast includes Chris Evans, Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Tom Holland, Frank Grillo and William Hurt.

Money Monster
Opens: May 12

Financial TV personality Lee Gates (George Clooney), who offers up stock advice on his hit show “Money Monster,” is held hostage by a viewer, Kyle Budwell (Jack O’Connell), who lost all of his money following a bad tip from Lee during his show. The film also stars Julia Roberts, Dominic West, Caitriona Balfe and Giancarlo Esposito.

High-Rise
Opens: May 12

A doctor (Tom Hiddleston) moves into a London skyscraper where rising tensions and class warfare lead to anarchy. The cast includes Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller, Luke Evans, Elizabeth Moss and James Purefoy.

Love & Friendship
Opens: May 12

Set in the 1790s, the widowed Lady Susan Vernon (Kate Beckinsale) seeks refuge with her in-laws as rumors about her private life circulate through society. While staying at the estate, Lady Susan decides to find herself and her daughter, Frederica, a husband. The cast includes Chloe Sevigny, Xavier Samuel and Stephen Fry.

The Angry Birds Movie
Opens: May 20

A small paradise community of flightless birds has long lived peacefully, except for Red (Jason Sudeikis), a bird filled with constant anger. The birds got shocked by the sudden appearance of pigs led by Leonard (Bill Hader) on the island. The flock teams up to investigate the pigs and their intentions. Voices will also be provided by Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Peter Dinklage, Sean Penn, Tony Hale and Blake Shelton.

The Nice Guys
Opens: May 20

This film occurs in 1970s Los Angeles, when down-on-his-luck private eye Holland March (Ryan Gosling) and hired enforcer Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) must work together to solve the case of a missing girl (Margaret Qualley) and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star. During their investigation, they uncover a shocking criminal conspiracy which reaches up to the highest circles of power. The cast includes Matt Bomer, Keith David, Kim Basinger and Ty Simpkins.

Alice Through the Looking Glass
Opens: May 27

Alice (Mia Wasikowska) returns to the whimsical world of wonderland but this time through a Looking Glass to find The Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) in a horrible state, with that she must save her friends from Time (Sacha Baron Cohen), a creature part-clock, and borrow the Chronosphere, which The Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) wants also, and change the course of wonderland’s fate to save The Hatter. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, Rhys Ifans and Ed Speleers.

X-Men: Apocalypse
Opens: May 27

Since ancient times, the first and most powerful mutant, Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) —immortal and invincible—has been worshipped as a god. But when Apocalypse awakens from a hibernation of thousands of years, he is disgusted to find out what the world has come to and decides to change it. He recruits four followers (four horsemen) to help him with this task of destroying humanity and building a better world, led by him, from the ruins. Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) and Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) lead a team of young X-Men to face Apocalypse and defeat him. The cast includes Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Olivia Munn, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Ben Hardy.

Flower Shop Myster Snipped in the Bud

The new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original movie Flower Shop Mystery: Snipped in the Bud will debut on April 24 at 9 PM.

Abby Knight (Brooke Shields) is a beautiful ex-attorney and proprietor of Bloomers, a quaint Illinois flower shop. When she receives a mysterious order for black roses to be delivered to the law department of the local university, Abby, having a colorful history with the school and a daughter who is currently a student, decides to deliver the flowers herself. Upon her arrival, Abby crosses paths with an old law school rival, only to find him murdered in his office shortly after their encounter. When Abby’s fingerprints are found on the murder weapon, she becomes the chief suspect in a dramatic homicide investigation, finding herself hounded by a hard-boiled detective and pursued by a relentless reporter.

When things heat up and start looking bad for Abby, she decides to conduct her own murder investigation, enlisting the support of Marco, a handsome bar owner and ex- private investigator. With Marco’s help, Abby gathers and interrogates a list of suspects, including school faculty and their wives and lovers, each having a plausible motive for committing the grisly crime. With a killer on the loose – and a budding romance with Marco beginning to sizzle – the flower shop owner-turned-sleuth struggles to solve the case and prove her innocence, before it’s too late.

The cast includes Brennan Elliott and Beau Bridges.
