Perfect Match

Perfect Match is the new Hallmark Channel movie that will debut pn June 20 at 9 PM.

When a young couple has opposing visions of their wedding day, two competing wedding planners are brought in to arrange the perfect event. As the wedding day approaches, the clashing wedding planners find romance of their own and discover that opposites can produce the most surprising results.

The cast includes Danica McKellar (The Wonder Years), Linda Gray (Dallas) and Paul Greene (Bitten).

Baby Boot Camp NEW

On June 14, the UP Channel original movie Baby Boot Camp will debut at 7 PM.

In this romantic comedy, super cute fitness instructor Julia Penman (Danneel Ackles [the wife of Supernatural star Jensen Ackles] from One Tree Hill and One Life to Live), is down on her luck trying to make her baby boot camp a thriving business. To make ends meet, she becomes a part-time nanny for single widowed father Scott (Kavan Smith from When Calls the Heart). Trouble is, she knows nothing about taking care of children.

The film also stars Miranda Frigon (A Cookie Cutter Christmas).

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

The 7-part mini-series Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell will debut on BBC America on June 13 at 10 PM.

Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan) and Bertie Carvel (Restless) will star in this mini-series that is set at the beginning of the 19th-century in an England where no one believes in practical magic. The reclusive Mr. Norrell (Marsan) of Hurtfew Abbey stuns the city of York when he causes the statues of York Cathedral to speak and move. With a little persuasion and help from his man of business Childermass (Enzo Cilenti), he goes to London to help the government in the war against Napoleon.

Love Finds You In Charm

The new UP Channel movie Love Finds You in Charm will debut on June 7 at 7 PM.

Beautiful Emma Miller (Danielle Churchran from Nowhere Safe) would appear to be the luckiest girl in Indiana. She teaches school, has a loving family, and the town’s most eligible young man wants to marry her. But this Amish young woman has more on her mind than buggies and bonnets – she longs for adventure and wants to see the world. When given the opportunity to spend the summer with relatives in scenic Charm, Ohio, Emma jumps at the chance. There she meets an Englischer (Tiffany Dupont from Greek) who has come to town to escape her chaotic life, and despite their differences, the two become fast friends. After meeting a fascinating young man (Drew Fuller from Army Wives and Charmed), Emma finds herself pulled between two worlds. Now, she must follow her heart and decide whether to stay amongst the Amish – or leave behind everyone and everything she’s ever known. Based on the novel by best-selling Author Annalisa Daughety. The film also stars Trevor Donovan (90210).

Signed Sealed Delivered From Paris With Love

The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie Signed Sealed Delivered From Paris With Love will debut on June 6 at 9 PM.

Poppy Montgomery (Without a Trace and Unforgettable) will play Holly, the estranged wife of lead postal detective Oliver (Eric Mabius of Ugly Betty), who suddenly returns from Paris the same day he and his Postables team, Shane (Kristin Booth from Orphan Black), Rita (Crystal Lowe from Primeval New World) and Norman (Geoff Gustafson from Primeval New World), deliver divorce papers to a happy couple.

Opens: June 5

A British East India Trading Company assassin seeks to redeem his past by thwarting a plot against a young nation’s hope for freedom. This faith-based period piece will star Andrew Cheney (Seasons of Gray), John Rhys-Davies (The Lord of the Rings franchise) and Kara Kilmer (Chicago P.D. and Chicago Fire).

Love & Mercy
Opens: June 5

In the 1960s, young songwriter and recording savant Brian Wilson (Paul Dano) finds himself in the midst of extraordinary success after scoring numerous hit records with the Beach Boys. Following a panic attack, he resigns from concert touring and ventures into the studio intent on creating “the greatest album ever made”, Pet Sounds. Meanwhile, his grip on reality slowly loosens once his recent psychedelic experiences give rise to scattered voices in his head. Later, in the 1980s, a now-middle-aged Wilson (John Cusack) is shown to be a broken, confused man under the pharmacological and legal thrall of therapist Dr. Eugene Landy (Paul Giamatti). After meeting Cadillac saleswoman Melinda Ledbetter (Elizabeth Banks), she is determined to save Wilson from Landy’s manipulation. The film also stars Jake Abel (Supernatural and Percy Jackson film franchise), Kenny Wormald (Footloose), Brett Davern (Awkward) and Graham Rogers (Revolution) [among others].

Spy
Opens: June 5

Melissa McCarthy stars as Susan Cooper, an unassuming, desk-bound CIA analyst, who is an unsung hero behind the agency’s most dangerous missions. She is also in love with her partner Bradley Fine (Jude Law), but when he falls off the grid and top agent Rick Ford (Jason Statham) is compromised, Cooper volunteers to go deep undercover to infiltrate the world of deadly arms dealer Rayna Boyanov (Rose Byrne). The cast includes Miranda Hart (Call the Midwife), Bobby Cannavale (Nurse Jackie), Allison Janney (Mom and The West Wing), Morena Baccarin (Homeland and Firefly) and Will Yun Lee (Strike Back and Hawaii Five-0).

Testament of Youth
Opens: June 5

In 114, Vera Brittain (Alicia Vikander from Ex Machina and Seventh Son) overcomes the restraints on women of the time to become a student at Somerville College, Oxford. When World War I breaks out, her brother Edward (Taron Egerton from Kingsman: The Secret Service), her fiancé Roland Leighton (Kit Harington from Game of Thrones), and their friends Victor (Colin Morgan from Merlin), and Geoffrey (Jonathan Bailey from Broadchurch), are sent to serve at the front lines. She follows their sacrifice, leaving college to join the Voluntary Aid Detachment as a nurse tending the wounded and dying (both British and German) in London, Malta and France. The cast also features Dominic West (The Hour), Emily Watson (Gosford Park), Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter) and Miranda Richardson (The Phantom of the Opera).

Jurassic World
Opens: June 12

Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar, an island located off Central America’s Pacific Coast near Costa Rica, now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. This new park is owned by the Masrani Global Corporation. Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), a member of the park’s on-site staff, conducts behavioral research on a group of Velociraptors, known as Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo. At the corporation’s request, the park’s geneticists create a hybrid dinosaur known as Indominus Rex to boost visitor attendance. Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) is the park’s operations manager. Her nephews, Zach (Nick Robinson from Melissa & Joey) and Gray (Ty Simpkins from Iron Man 3), are visiting the island when the hybrid escapes and are subsequently caught up in the creature’s deadly rampage. Now, it is up to Owen and Jurassic World’s security team to contain the hybrid dinosaur before she can cause more damage. The film also stars Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil), B.D. Wong (Law & Order: SVU), Jake Johnson (New Girl), Brian Tee (The Wolverine and Grimm), Judy Greer (Archer and 13 Going on 30) and Katie McGrath (Merlin and A Princess for Christmas).

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl
Opens: June 12

Greg Gaines (Thomas Mann from Project X and Beautiful Creatures), an awkward Pittsburgh high school student befriends a classmate, Rachel (Olivia Cooke from Bates Motel), who has leukemia. Greg and his best friend Earl (newcomer Ronald Cyler II) make low-budget films in their spare time, and together, decide to make a film for Rachel. The cast includes Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation), Connie Britton (Nashville and Friday Night Lights) and Molly Shannon (Never Been Kissed).

Infinitely Polar Bear
Opens: June 19

A manic-depressive mess of a father (Mark Ruffalo) tries to win back his wife (Zoe Saldana) by attempting to take full responsibility of their two young, spirited daughters, who don’t make the overwhelming task any easier.

Inside Out
Opens: June 19

This animated film follows Riley Anderson, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Riley and everyone else are guided by their emotions, Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. The personified emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters, when Sadness accidentally causes herself and Joy to get lost, within the rest of Riley’s Mind. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the remaining emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school, while Joy and Sadness trek through the rest of Riley’s Mind in the process slowly discovering the bright side of life. The voice cast includes Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation), Phyllis Smith (The Office), SNL alum Bill Hader, comedian Lewis Black, Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project), Diane Lane (Man of Steel) and Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) [among others].

Manglehorn
Opens: June 19

AJ Manglehorn (Al Pacino) seems to be an ordinary guy, but he’s an ex-con who gave up the woman of his dreams for a big ‘job’. He now obsesses daily over the choices he made. The film also stars Holly Hunter (Saving Grace) and Chris Messina (The Mindy Project).

Batkid Begins
Opens: June 26

This documentary focuses on “Batkid”, 5-year old Miles Scott, a cancer survivor who was granted his wish to Batkid for one day, in one city; and how the world came together to make his wish come true. Thousands of volunteers, city officials, businesses and supporters rallied to turn San Francisco, California into “Gotham City” – the fictional home city of Batman – on November 15, 2013 for one of the largest and most elaborate Make-A-Wish projects ever staged.

Big Game
Opens: June 26

When Air Force One is shot down by terrorists leaving the President of the United States Alan Moore (Samuel L. Jackson) stranded in the wilderness of Finland, there is only one person around who can save him: a 13-year old boy called Oskari (newcomer Onni Tommila). The cast also includes Felicity Huffman (Desperate Housewives and American Crime), Victor Garber (The Flash and Alias), Jim Broadbent (Harry Potter franchise) and Ray Stevenson (Divergent).

Max
Opens: June 26

Military working dog Max, a Belgian Malinois, returns from service in Afghanistan, traumatized by his handler’s (Robbie Amell from The DUFF and The Flash) death. He’s adopted by the fallen Marine’s family and they help each other heal from their loss. The cast includes Lauren Graham (Parenthood and Gilmore Girls), Thomas Haden Church (Sideways), Luke Kleintank (Pretty Little Liars and Bones), Jay Hernandez (Gang Related and Nashville), Joseph Julian Soria (Army Wives) and newcomer Josh Wiggins.

Movies coming out in July will be posted at the end of June.

Marilyn Monroe

The Lifetime made-for-TV movie The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe will air on May 30 and May 31 at 8 PM on both nights.

Based on the best-seller of the same name by J. Randy Taraborrelli, the film is a portrait of a young Norma Jeane Mortenson as she battles a lonely and loveless existence with an absent mother. Despite the odds, Norma Jeane blossoms into a funny, smart and ambitious woman who soon reinvents herself to become the symbol of an era.

Kelli Garner (Pan Am and The Aviator) stars as Monroe while Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Supernatural and Magic City) will play Joe DiMaggio and veteran actress Susan Sarandon will play Marilyn’s mother Gladys.

Texas Rising

The 10-hour event series Texas Rising will debut on the History Channel starting on May 25 at 9 PM.

The event series details the Texas Revolution and the rise of the Texas Rangers. In 1836, west of the Mississippi was considered the Wild West and the Texas frontier was viewed as hell on earth. Crushed from the outside by Mexican armadas and attacked from within by ferocious Comanche tribes—no one was safe. But this was a time of bravery, a time to die for what you believed in and a time to stand tall against the cruel rule of the Mexican General Santa Anna. The heroic General Sam Houston, the rag tag Rangers and the legendary “Yellow Rose of Texas” lead this story of the human will to win against insurmountable odds. At the end, the Texas flags stood tall and victorious, claiming a piece of history for all eternity.

On May 16, the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original move Gourmet Detective will debut at 9 PM.

Dylan Neal (Cedar Cove) stars as a culinary whiz who uses his mastery of food, drink and cooking to solve crimes of the culinary world. Whether it’s the theft of a valuable recipe or a suspicious murder in the middle of a five-star restaurant, his insight, skills and encyclopedic knowledge of all things edible always lead him to the culprit.

The film also stars Brooke Burns.
