Audioslave

Audioslave was a hard rock band that was formed in Los Angeles, California, consisting of lead singer and rhythm guitarist Chris Cornell, who was the former frontman for the band Soundgarden, and the former members of the rock band Rage Against the Machine, including guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk.

The band’s sound was crafted using a blend of 1970s hard rock and 1990s alternative rock. They incorporated Morello’s unique and distinctive guitar solos in their songs that were recorded using only guitar, bass, drums and vocals.

In November of 2002, Audioslave released their self-titled debut album, which included the songs “Cochise,” “Show Me How To Live” and “I Am the Highway”. The single “Like A Stone” – which is today’s song of the day (for June 25, 2010) – was released as the second single off the album “Audioslave” and became not only the band’s most successful single, but also reached the number 32 slot on the Hot 100 chart on Billboard.
