This past Sunday was World Outlander Day and the folks over at Starz brought together the cast of Outlander and the soon-to-air prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood in a celebration of that big day.

The Gathering” special – which you can watch directly below in its entirety, all 26 plus minutes of it – featured most of the main cast of the flagship series Outlander as well as nearly all of the cast members of Outlander: Blood of My Blood. You can see the new generation of Frasers, MacKenzies and Beauchamps alongside their descendants in conversations about both shows and even see some clips of the much-anticipated new series.

Specifically, the special features interviews with the executive producers, Matthew B. Roberts and Maril Davis, as well as cast members from both series with those previously mentioned sneak peeks and a look back at the legacy of the series that started it all, dating back 12 years. [Can you believe it’s been that long?!]

Outlander: Blood of My Blood will debut on Starz on Friday, August 8 at 8 PM, starring Hermione Corfield (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) as Claire’s mother Julia Moriston; Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) as Claire’s father Henry Beauchamp; Harriet Slater (Belgravia: The Next Chapter) as Jamie’s mother Ellen MacKenzie and Jamie Roy (Squeaky Clean Mysteries: Hazardous Duty as Jamie’s father Brian Fraser. The series will move between the war-torn battlefields of World War I to the sweeping Highlands of 18th century Scotland, showcasing two new love stories filled with loyalty, passion and desire, as the young couples defy the forces that seek to tear them apart.

The cast of this spin-off series will also include Tony Curran (Mary & George) as Jamie’s grandfather Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat; Séamus McLean Ross (Rebus) as Jamie’s uncle Colum MacKenzie; Sam Retford (Ackley Bridge) as Jamie’s other uncle Dougal MacKenzie; Rory Alexander (Pistol) as Jamie’s godfather Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser; Conor MacNeill (Industry) as Ned Gowan, the “accountant” of the Clan MacKenzie; Sadhbh Malin (Love, Rosie) as Jamie’s aunt Jocasta Cameron; Sara Vickers (Endeavour) as Jamie’s grandmother Davina Porter and Sally Messham (Blitz) as Mrs. Fitz, the “housekeeper” of Castle Leoch.

Cast members from Outlander who are featured in “The Gathering” special include Caitríona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, John Bell, David Berry, Lauren Lyle, Charles Vandervaart, Izzy Meikle-Small, Caitlin O’Ryan, Paul Gorman and Diarmaid Murtagh.

The vampire-themed The Black Daggar Brotherhood series will debut online on Passionflix on June 5.

A brotherhood of vampire warriors protects their race from demonic lessers. United by tragedy, the few remaining fighters confront the lessers, striving to restore the vampire realm.

Passionflix stars Olivia Grace Applegate and Michael Roark (who appeared in the popular Driven franchise together) are among the cast.

On May 29, the Amazon Prime limited series The Better Sister will debut online.

Based on the book by best-selling author Alafair Burke, this thriller is about the terrible things that drive sisters apart and ultimately bring them back together. Chloe (Jessica Biel), a high-profile media executive, lives a picturesque life with her handsome lawyer husband Adam (Corey Stoll) and teenage son Ethan (Maxwell Acee Donovan) by her side while her estranged sister Nicky (Elizabeth Banks) struggles to make ends meet and stay clean. When Adam is brutally murdered, the prime suspect sends shockwaves through the family, reuniting the two sisters, as they try to untangle a complicated family history to discover the truth behind his death.

The cast also includes Gloria Reuben, Kim Dickens, Lorraine Toussaint and Matthew Modine.

On May 25, the two-night debut of The Librarians: The Next Chapter will air on TNT at 11 PM (after the NBA Basketball playoffs coverage).

The reboot of the popular series centers on Vikram Chamberlain (Callum McGowan), a “Librarian” from the past who time traveled from 1847 and now finds himself stuck in the present. When Vikram returns to his castle in Belgrade, Serbia and discovers that it is now a museum, he inadvertently releases magic across the continent. With the help of a new team of eclectic heroes, including a savant in world history (Bluey Robinson), a scientific genius (Olivia Morris) and a highly skilled Guardian (Jessica Green), Vikram has only six months to clean up the mess he made.

Original series star Christian Kane will reprise his role of Jacob Stone.

NOTE: The second part of the two-night debut will air on TNT at 10 PM on May 26.

The new dark comedy limited series Sirens will debut online on Netflix on May 22.

Devon (Meghann Fahy) thinks her sister Simone (Milly Alcock) has a really creepy relationship with her new boss, the enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell (Julianne Moore). Michaela’s cult-ish life of luxury is like a drug to Simone, and Devon has decided it’s time for an intervention, but she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be. Told over the course of one explosive weekend at The Kells’ lavish beach estate, Sirens is an incisive, sexy, and darkly funny exploration of women, power, and class.

On May 20, the new young adult drama Motorheads will debut online on Amazon Prime.

This series is about first love, first heartbreak and turning the key in your first car. It’s set in a once-thriving rust-belt town that’s now searching for a glimmer of hope; it’s an adrenaline-filled story of a group of outsiders who form an unlikely friendship over a mutual love of street racing while navigating the hierarchy and rules of high school.

The cast includes Matt Lanter, Michael Cimino, Nathalie Kelley, Ryan Phillippe, Uriah Shelton, Drake Rodger and Mia Healey [among others].

The first two episodes of the new Apple TV+ series Murderbot will debut online on May 16.

This sci-fi thriller/comedy about a self-hacking security construct known as Murderbot (Alexander Skarsgard) who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable clients. Murderbot must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe.

The series also stars Tattiawna Jones, Sabrina Wu, David Dastmalchian and Tamara Podemski.

On May 15, the new period piece series Duster will debut online today on MAX.

Set in the 1970s Southwest, the series explores the life of Jim (Josh Holloway), a gutsy getaway driver for a growing crime syndicate that goes from dangerous to wildly, stupidly dangerous when Nina (Rachel Hilson), a tenacious young FBI agent comes into town hellbent on taking his crime family down.

The cast also includes Camille Guaty, Greg Grunberg and Keith David.

On May 8, the new drama Forever will debut online on Netflix.

Based on the 1975 novel by author Judy Blume, this reimagined series is the epic story of two Black teens (Lovie Simone and Michael Cooper, Jr.) exploring romance and their identities through the awkward journey of being each other’s firsts.

The cast includes Barry Shabaka Henley, Karen Pittman, Niles Fitch and Xosha Roquemore.
