The Intruders

Intruders will debut on BBC America on August 23 at 10 PM.

The series is about a secret society devoted to chasing immortality by seeking refuge in the bodies of others, focusing on Jack Whelan (John Simm from Doctor Who), a former LAPD cop with a troubled and violent history, who finds the quiet idyllic life he has crafted with his wife, Amy (Oscar-winner Mira Sorvino) shattered when she goes missing.

While Jack is consumed with an investigation, which threatens his very core, a sinister agent named Richard Shepherd (James Frain from True Blood) is embarking on a series of lethal executions. Meanwhile, a distraught little girl named Madison (Millie Brown from Once Upon a Time in Wonderland) runs away from home into a world of danger.

On August 13, the new TNT drama Legends will debut at 9 PM.

Sean Bean (Game of Thrones) stars as a deep-undercover FBI agent who may be losing his grip on reality.

The cast includes Ali Larter (Heroes), Tina Majorino (Veronica Mars) and Morris Chestnut (V).

Outlander Poster

On August 9, the new Starz drama Outlander will debut at 9 PM.

Based on the book by Diana Gabaldon, the series will follow the story of Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.

NOTE: The first eight (8) episodes of the 16-episode debut season will air consecutively from Saturday August 9 through Saturday, September 27. Then the show will go on winter hiatus, with the remaining eight episodes set to air on Starz in early 2015.

The Knick

The new Cinemax period drama The Knick will debut on August 8 at 10 PM.

The series centers on the Knickerbocker Hospital and the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff, who push the bounds of medicine in a time (New York in 1900) of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics.

The cast includes Clive Owen, Andre Holland (Friends with Benefits), Jeremy Bobb (Hostages) and Eric Johnson (Smallville and Rookie Blue).

The Honorable Woman

The Sundance TV original 8-part mini-series The Honorable Woman will debut on July 31 at 10 PM.

The film follows Nessa Stein (Maggie Gyllenhaal), whose father was a Zionist arms procurer; as children, she and her brother witness his assassination. Years later, after inheriting her father’s company, she dramatically inverts its purpose from supplying arms to laying high-spec data cabling networks between Israel and the West Bank.

Now in her thirties, her sudden appointment to the House of Lords, apparently due to her tireless promotion of projects for reconciliation between the Israelis and Palestinians, creates an international political maelstrom.

The cast includes Janet McTeer (Damages), Stephen Rea (The Crying Game) and Tobias Menzies (the upcoming Outlander).

Manhattan NEW

On July 27, the second original scripted series at WGN America, Manhattan, will debut at 10 PM.

The series is set in the 1940s in a town whose very existence is classified. Frank Winter (John Benjamin Hickey from The Big C) and his team of brilliant but flawed scientists have been recruited to work on a project even they could know nothing about until their arrival.

The cast includes Olivia Williams (Dollhouse) and Daniel Stern (Home Alone).

The new USA Network dramas Rush and Satisfaction will both debut on July 17 at 9 and 10 PM respectively,

Rush

Rush examines the world of renegade physician Dr. William Rush (Tom Ellis from EastEnders and The Secrets of Crickley Hall), a “medical fixer” who privately caters to LA’s elite and whose service comes with a hefty price tag. Though the hard-partying doctor claims that he doesn’t make judgments about his less-than-squeaky-clean clients, he’s not immune to the ugliness that he encounters.

The cast includes Odette Annable (House and Brothers & Sisters) and Sarah Habel (Whip It and Underemployed).

Satisfaction

Satisfaction stars Matt Passmore (The Glades) as investment banker Neil Truman who confronts his relationship (and his life) with his wife Grace, facing issues by making unconventional choices.

The cast includes Katerine LaNasa (Longmire) and Blair Redford (The Lying Game and Switched at Birth).

The DivideThe new 8-episode drama The Divide will have a two-hour debut on WE TV on July 16 at 9 PM.

Eleven years ago, the Butler family was attacked in their Philadelphia home and all but the youngest daughter were brutally murdered. The senseless deaths of this affluent African American family, seemingly at the hands of two white construction workers, Terry Kucik (Joe Anderson from Across the Universe) and Jared Bankowski (Chris Bauer from True Blood), threatened to ignite a racial firestorm. Adam Page (Damon Gupton from The Wire and Treme), himself an affluent black man and the city’s District Attorney as well as a political rising star, made a name for himself by securing convictions for both men, leading to the death penalty ruling for Bankowski.

Now, Christine Rosa (Marin Ireland from Homeland and Boss), a caseworker with the Innocence Initiative, believes Bankowski was wrongly convicted of the heinous murders and struggles to stop his impending execution, while tirelessly working to exonerate Kucik.

The cast includes Nia Long (House of Lies), Clark Peters (The Wire) and Paul Schneider (Water for Elephants).

The Divide will then move to its regular 10 PM timeslot on Wednesday, July 23.

Matador

On July 15, the El Rey Network drama Matador will debut at 9 PM .

This new series chronicles the unlikely rise of Antonio “Matador” Bravo (Gabriel Luna from Prison Break), a popular soccer star, who comes to be known as much for his playboy antics off the field as his dynamic moves on it. But what his fans and family don’t realize is that it’s all a cover–in truth, he is a skilled covert operative executing missions for a little known branch of the CIA. “Matador” has the kind of fame and notoriety that affords him access to powerful circles of corruption and villainy. But, in balancing the dueling roles in which he’s been cast, he will be forced to confront the question of his true identity and it is this mission which will prove to be his most dangerous.

The Strain

The new vampire drama The Strain will debut on FX on July 13 at 10 PM.

When a plane lands at JFK International Airport with the lights off and doors sealed epidemiologist Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll from House of Cards) and his team are sent to investigate. On board they find two hundred corpses and four survivors. The situation deteriorates when the bodies begin disappearing from morgues. Goodweather and a small group of helpers find themselves battling to protect not only their own loved ones, but also the entire city, from an ancient threat to humanity.

The cast includes Mia Maestro (Alias), Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings franchise), Kevin Durand (Lost and Dark Angel), David Bradley (Harry Potter franchise) and Jonathan Hyde (MI-5 and Titanic).
