On November 12, the Hallmark Channel movie Every Christmas Has a Story will debut at 9 PM.

A TV personality (Lori Loughlin from When Calls the Heart) has an on-air snafu and admits she hates Christmas. Following the debacle, she is invited to the Most Christmas-y town in America to try and repair her image. Forced to work with her ex-boyfriend Jack (Colin Ferguson from Eureka and Cedar Cove), the show’s producer, the magic of Christmas and this special town will change the way she views Christmas and her life.

Willie Aames (Charles in Charge and Eight Is Enough) also stars.

The new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie Love Always, Santa will debut on November 6 at 9 PM.

After losing her husband Bradley three years ago on Christmas day, Celia Banks (Marguerite Moreau from The Mighty Ducks) never thought she’d fall in love again. Now, her entire world revolves around taking care of her daughter Lilly. Lilly writes a letter to Santa with one wish — for her mommy to be happy and find love again.

The Netflix 10-part drama The Crown will debut online on November 4.

The drama tells the inside story of Queen Elizabeth II’s early reign, revealing the personal intrigues, romances and political rivalries behind the great events that shaped the second half of the 20th Century.

The cast includes Claire Foy (Wolf Hall) as Queen Elizabeth II and Matt Smith (Doctor Who) as Prince Phillip as well as John Lithgow, Jared Harris and Jeremy Northam.

Doctor Strange
Opens: November 4

Dr. Stephen Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) life changes after a car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he looks for healing, and hope, in a mysterious enclave. He quickly learns that the enclave is at the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying reality. Before long, Strange is forced to choose between his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence. The cast includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Benjamin Bratt, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton.

Hacksaw Ridge
Opens: November 4

The film is based on the true story of US Army medic Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield), who was a Seventh-day Adventist conscientious objector who refused to bear arms, yet was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Harry S. Truman for single-handedly saving the lives of over 75 of his comrades while under constant enemy fire during the Battle of Okinawa in World War II. The film also stars Vince Vaughn, Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey, Hugo Weaving, Teresa Palmer and Rachel Griffiths.

Loving
Opens: November 4

The film follows the courtship and marriage of Mildred Jeter (Ruth Negga), a black woman, and Richard Loving (Joel Edgerton), a white man. They are arrested and sentenced to prison in Virginia in 1958, because their interracial marriage violates the state’s anti-miscegenation laws. Exiled to Washington DC, they sue the state of Virginia in a series of proceedings leading to the Supreme Court’s unanimous decision in Loving v. Virginia, which holds that laws prohibiting interracial marriage are unconstitutional. The cast includes Nick Kroll, Michael Shannon and Marton Csokas.

Trolls
Opens: November 4

In this animated film Poppy (voice by Anna Kendrick), the optimistic leader of the trolls, and Branch (voiced by Justin Timberlake), her polar opposite, embark on an adventure that takes them far beyond the only world they’ve ever known. Other voices will be provided by Zooey Deschanel, Russell Brand, James Corden, Gwen Stefani, Christine Baranski, John Cleese, Jeffrey Tambor and Quvenzhane Wallis.

Arrival
Opens: November 11

Linguistics professor Louise Banks (Amy Adams) leads an elite team of investigators when humongous spaceships touch down in 12 locations around the world. As nations teeter on the verge of global war, Banks and her crew must race against time to find a way to communicate with the extraterrestrial visitors. Hoping to unravel the mystery, she takes a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly all of mankind. The cast includes Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker.

Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk
Opens: November 11

Billy Lynn (newcomer Joe Alwyn) is a 19-year-old Army specialist fighting in Iraq. After he and his comrades barely survive a tense battle that receives broad news coverage, they are celebrated as heroes and brought back home by the Department of Defense. In the United States, they go on a promotional tour across the country which ends in a spectacular halftime show at a Thanksgiving Day football game. There, Lynn recounts the tragic memories of the war and losing his sergeant in a firefight. The film also stars Kristen Stewart, Chris Tucker, Garrett Hedlund, Vin Diesel and Steve Martin.

Shut In
Opens: November 11

Following a recent accident that took the life of her husband and left her son paralyzed, a female psychologist (Naomi Watts) finds herself isolated in her own home caring for her child. Cut off from the outside world during a deadly storm, she starts to believe someone is inside her house trying to harm them. The cast includes Oliver Platt, David Cubitt and Jacob Tremblay.

Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them
Opens: November 18

The year is 1926, and Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident, were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds. The film also stars Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Carmen Ejogo, Samantha Morton, Ezra Miller, Ron Perlman, Jon Voight and Zoe Kravitz.

Manchester By the Sea
Opens: November 18

After the sudden death of Joe Chandler (Kyle Chandler), his younger brother Lee (Casey Affleck) is made legal guardian of Joe’s son Patrick (Lucas Hedges). Lee returns to his hometown and has to deal with both his separated wife Randi (Michelle Williams) and the North Shore community. The cast includes Gretchen Mol, Tate Donovan and Matthew Broderick.

Nocturnal Animals
Opens: November 18

An art gallery owner (Amy Adams) is haunted by her ex-husband’s (Jake Gyllenhaal) novel, a violent thriller she interprets as a veiled threat and a symbolic revenge tale. The film also stars Michael Shannon, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Isla Fisher, Armie Hammer, Laura Linney, Michael Sheen, Kristin Bauer van Straten and Jena Malone.

The Edge of Seventeen
Opens: November 18

The life of high school junior Nadine (Hailee Steinfeld) is already awkward when her all-star older brother Darian (Blake Jenner) starts dating her best friend Krista. Nadine now feels more alone than ever, until the unexpected friendship with an awkward thoughtful boy gives her a glimmer of hope that things might not be so terrible after all. The cast also stars Woody Harrelson and Kyra Sedgwick.

Allied
Opens: November 23

In 1942 North Africa, intelligence officer Max Vatan (Brad Pitt) meets French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour (Marion Cotillard) on a dangerous mission behind enemy lines. The couple reunites in London, only to have their relationship threatened by the pressures of the war, as Vatan is presented with the possibility that Beausejour is a German spy. The film also includes Lizzy Caplan, Matthew Goode and Jared Harris.

Moana
Opens: November 23

On a mystic island in Polynesia, the young princess of the tribe, Moana from Motunui Island, is a born navigator who sets sail in search of a fabled island of mysterious secrets. During her journey, she teams up with her hero and legendary demigod Maui. The voices in this animated film will be provided by newcomer Auli’i Cravalho, Dwayne Johnson, Nicole Scherzinger, Jermaine Clement and Alan Tudyk.

Rules Don’t Apply
Opens: November 23

In 1958, Marla Mabrey (Lily Collins), a devout Baptist beauty queen from Virginia and an aspiring actress, arrives in Hollywood only a few weeks after Frank Forbes (Alden Ehrenreich), an ambitious young businessman and devout Methodist. Both of them long for success under their contracts with billionaire filmmaker, famed aviator, and notorious womanizer Howard Hughes (Warren Beatty). The pair have an instant attraction, but this is hindered by the strict rules laid down by Hughes that prohibit any romantic or sexual interaction between his employees. The curtain is pulled back on how Capitol Hill games are played — and won — as Sloane faces off against the most influential powers in D.C. The film also stars Mark Strong, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Alison Pill, Sam Waterston, John Lithgow and Douglas Smith.

November 6 – The UP Channel movie Married by Christmas will debut at 7 PM

When it comes to her work, Carrie Tate (Jes MaCallan from Mistresses) takes herself very seriously. She has dedicated her entire life to growing Emerson Foods, the high-end food distribution company founded by her father, and doesn’t have much time for a social life. Carrie’s sister Katie, on the other hand, is a gourmet food-to-table restaurateur and marrying her boyfriend on Christmas Eve. However, due to an outdated stipulation in their grandmother’s will, it’s discovered that ownership of the company will pass to whichever sister marries first. Now, Carrie must get married by Christmas or kiss her family business goodbye.

The cast includes Coby Ryan McLaughlin (Parenthood), April Bowlby (Drop Dead Diva) and James Eckhouse (Beverly Hills, 90210).

On October 28, Good Girls Revolt is the latest streaming series to debut on Amazon.

In 1969, while a cultural revolution with a soundtrack to match swept through the free world, there was still one place that refused to change with the times: newsrooms. The series follows a group of young female researchers, Jane Hollander (Anna Camp from Pitch Perfect and True Blood), Patti Robinson (Genevieve Angelson from Backstrom) and Cindy Reston (Erin Darke from Kill Your Darlings), at “News of the Week,” who simply ask to be treated fairly. Their revolutionary request, led by lawyer Eleanor Holmes Norton (Joy Bryant from Parenthood) will spark convulsive changes and upend marriages, careers, sex lives, love lives, and friendships.

October 27, the new BBC America limited series The Living and the Dead will debut at 9 PM.

The six-part series stars Colin Morgan (Humans and Merlin) and Charlotte Spencer (Line of Duty) as Nathan and Charlotte Appleby, a couple hell-bent on bringing modern ideas to an ancient rural community. When Nathan, a pioneering Victorian psychologist, brings his vivacious young wife back to live on his family’s estate, he’s confronted by one disturbing case after another.

James Bell (Augustus Prew from Klondike and The Borgias) is a Silicon Valley billionaire who dreams of building a hospital with ultimate cutting-edge technology to treat rare and incurable diseases. He partners with a maverick surgeon, Dr. Walter Wallace (Dermot Mulroney from My Best Friend’s Wedding), who leads the effort in clearing out the bureaucracy of medicine, and focus on forward thinking, advancing technology, and saving lives—at no cost to the patient.
