While the major networks, for the most part, are still running their annual pilot season throughout the first few months of the year that could all be changing in the very near future. In the meantime, though, let’s take a look at what each of the major networks have in the works for this coming fall’s TV season.

First, here are the dramas that ABC has under consideration and my opinions on which dramas may or may not get picked up:

CAST: David Strathairn (Alphas), Australian newcomer Sarah Snook, Edwin Hodge (The Purge), Kevin Alejandro (Arrow), Kathleen Munroe (Alphas, Stargate Universe and Resurrection), Mykelti Williamson (Justified) and Nick Gehlfuss (Shameless)

Exposed: Adapted from Liza Marklund’s best-selling novels, it centers on an investigative journalist who will stop at nothing to uncover the truth, including making questionable alliances.

THOSE BEHIND THE SHOW: Charles Randolph (Love & Other Drugs), Peter Traugott (Samantha Who?) and Rachel Kaplan (Do No Harm)

CAST: Fran Kranz (Dollhouse), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (A Good Day to Die Hard), Brian F. O’Byrne (FlashForward), Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia franchise), Sandrine Holt (House of Cards and Hostages), Pedro Pascal (Graceland and The Good Wife) and Peter De Jersey (Broadchurch)

Forever: Dr. Henry Morgan is New York City’s star medical examiner, but what no one knows is Henry studies the dead for a reason: He is immortal. With the help of detective Jo Martinez, the show peels back the layers of Henry’s colorful and long life through their cases.

THOSE BEHIND THE SHOW: Matthew Miller (Chuck), Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes) and Jennifer Gwartz (Veronica Mars)

CAST: Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four and Ringer), Alana de la Garza (Law & Order), Joel David Moore (Bones), Barbara Eve Harris (CSI), Donnie Keshawarz (Damages and The Sopranos) and Judd Hirsch (Taxi)

Sea of Fire: When three teenage girls star in a pornographic film, it tears their families apart and leads to a disappearance, a murder and host of other secrets boiling under the surface in a small town. This pilot is based on the Dutch series Vuurzee.

THOSE BEHIND THE SHOW: Jenna Bans (Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy), Alon Aranya (Betrayal and Hostages), David Hoberman (Monk), Todd Lieberman (The Fighter) and Laurie Zaks (Castle)

Warriors: The series will follow the best and brightest of active duty military doctors and nurses as they practice trailblazing medicine on critically wounded warriors returning home from Afghanistan, on military families and veterans, as well as administering to Washington’s government elite.

MOST LIKELY TO BE PICKED-UP: How To Get Away With Murder (simply because of Viola Davis alone)

COULD MAYBE GET AN ORDER: Clementine

LONG SHOT (but it sure would be cool to see it): The Visitors

RIP-OFF OF THE SEASON: Forever (does anyone remember New Amsterdam? No?! Nikolaj Coster-Waldau from Game of Thrones played an immortal man too and that show didn’t last long at all)

NOT GONNA HAPPEN: Untitled Richard LaGravenese Project

Last July the cast and creative minds behind the new CW futuristic drama The 100 – which will debut on March 19 – graced the stage at San Diego Comic Con 2013, giving attendees a look inside the upcoming show.

The 100 is actually based on the book by Cass Morgan, which at the time of Comic Con 2013 was set to be published that fall, making it an interesting case for the executive producers and writers to adapt it to the small screen.

Matthew Miller and Jason Rothenberg, the Executive Producers on the panel, shared that even the show was adapted from the book, which was released in September, they weren’t “handcuffed it” to.

The 100 is set 97 years after a nuclear Armageddon decimated planet Earth, destroying civilization. The only survivors are the 400 inhabitants of 12 international space stations that were in orbit at the time of the disaster. Three generations have been born in space, the survivors now number 4,000. But with resources running out on their dying “Ark” – the 12 stations now linked together and repurposed to keep the survivors alive – Draconian measures, including capital punishment and population control, are the order of the day. In order to survive, the leaders of the Ark take ruthless steps to ensure their future, including secretly exiling a group of 100 juvenile prisoners to the Earth’s surface to test whether it’s habitable.

In essence the show will have two very distinct sets of locations and characters: the juveniles on Earth and the rest of the survivors on the Ark. The executive producers joked that The 100 can be looked at as Battlestar Galactica meets Lost.

The 100

The discussion then shifted over to the cast on the panel, which included newcomer Eliza Taylor (who plays lead character Clarke Griffin, the daughter of the head doctor aboard the Ark), Thomas McDonell (who plays mystery delinquent Finn), Marie Avgeropoulos (who plays stowaway Octavia Blake), Henry Ian Cusick (who plays Councillor Kane) and Isaiah Washington (who plays Chancellor Jaha).

Henry shared that his character, who is one of the leaders on the Ark, makes a “big move” in the pilot. Without spoiling what happens in the debut episode, which was actually screened during the panel, Councillor Kane makes a “move to exert control” on the Ark and viewers “will have to tune in to see” just what Kane will do next. Whereas Isaiah, who essentially plays the President of the survivors on the Ark, not only has the concerns of all those on the Ark but he also has a teenaged son, who is one of the 100 juveniles on Earth. It should also be noted that there are very few good feelings between Kane and Jaha, making for a contentious relationship between the two leaders.

On the other hand, the teens on Earth have a lot to deal with; namely being on a planet ravaged by massive devastation and Lord of the Flies-like competition between the 100 teens who now inhabit the planet. Eliza shared that her character Clarke is “a natural born leader” who learns “quickly that she has to step up” once they are on the ground for the first time in their lives.

For Marie’s character Octavia, who was hidden on the Ark by her mother who had a second child which is illegal in their world, has a “close sibling bond” with her older brother Bellamy, who conned his way onto the ship that took the 100 to Earth. Bellamy has his own mission on Earth, to do whatever the hell he wants, whenever the hell he wants, forcing his beliefs on the delinquents who splinter off from the purpose of their ‘mission’ on the planet: to see if the Earth is habitable.

To learn what happens both on the Ark and on Earth, make sure to watch the debut episode of The 100 on The CW on March 19 at 9/8c.

Lizzie Bennet Book

The following is a verbatim article from the folks at Pemberley Digital, the fictional company run by William Darcy in the successful (and Emmy winning) web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries regarding the soon to be released The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet, which will be published on July 1, 2014 and available for pre-order via various outlets such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBookstore and more:

A modern adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice based on the Emmy Award-winning phenomenon, The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.

There is a great deal that goes into making a video blog. Lizzie Bennet should know, having become a YouTube sensation over the course of her year-long video diary project. The Lizzie Bennet Diaries chronicled Lizzie’s life as a twenty-four-year-old grad student, struggling under a mountain of student loans and living at home with her two sisters—beautiful Jane Bennet and reckless Lydia Bennet. What may have started as her grad student thesis grew into so much more, as the videos came to inform and reflect her life and that of her sisters. When rich, handsome Bing Lee comes to town, along with his stuck-up friend William Darcy, things really start to get interesting for the Bennets—and for Lizzie’s viewers. Suddenly Lizzie—who always considered herself a fairly normal young woman—was a public figure. But not everything happened on-screen. Luckily for us, Lizzie kept a secret diary. The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet provides more character introspection as only a book can, with revelatory details about the Bennet household, including Lizzie’s special relationship with her father, untold stories from Netherfield, Lizzie’s thoughts and fears about life after grad school and becoming an instant web celebrity.

Written by Bernie Su, the series’ executive producer, co-creator, head writer, and director, along with Kate Rorick, the novelist, TV writer, and consulting producer on the series, the novel features a journal-entry format and design, complementing the existing web series, while including plenty of fresh twists to delight fans and new readers alike. The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet expands on the phenomenon that captivated a generation and reimagines the Pride and Prejudice story like it’s never been done before.
