The MTV horror-laced drama series Teen Wolf will be back for its second season starting tomorrow night with a 2-night premiere event. In honor of that premiere, the Paley Center for Media recently held a special screening and Q&A panel with the cast members and creative mind behind the show that is loosely (and I mean LOOSELY) based on the Michael J. Fox 1980’s comedy flick of the same name that helped to launch his career.

To recap, Teen Wolf revolves around social outcast Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), a young lacrosse player at Beacon Hills High School whose life is drastically changed when he is bitten by a werewolf. But with the help of his best friend, Stiles (Dylan O’Brien), and a mysterious werewolf, Derek (Tyler Hoechlin), he is forced to balance his newfound identity among the many dangers it presents to his life. Scott is also having trouble keeping his secret his from the girl he loves, Allison (Crystal Reed), who he soon finds out is part of a family that hunts werewolves. Meanwhile at school, Scott has to deal with his adversary, Jackson (Colton Haynes) and his mean-girl girlfriend Lydia (Holland Roden).

As season one progressed, [SPOILER ALERT] Scott learned to deal with his “condition” (as best he can) with Stiles by his side at all times; Allison learned the truth about Scott and Derek eventually became the Alpha of the werewolf pack after the reveal that his mentally-challenged uncle was the source behind Scott’s condition and that Allison’s aunt was the reason for Derek’s family’s death.

With season two just around the corner, it was a great delight to see an advanced screening of the first half of the two-night premiere, which not only finds Scott and Allison hiding their ongoing relationship from her extremely disapproving parents; Jackson and Lydia overcoming their own attacks by Derek’s uncle and Derek himself and the introduction of a new character, to be portrayed by Battlestar Galactica alum Michael Hogan, that will change the direction of Allison’s life, possibly for good, and jeopardize Derek’s and Scott’s lives.

During the Paley Center’s panel cast members Tyler, Posey, Dylan O’Brien, Crystal Reed, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden and Colton Haynes as well as executive producer Jeff Davis were on hand to share some insights into what it is like to be a part of the show, including the amount of time some of them spend in the make-up chair, just how much of the show is CGI-heavy and joking about the amount of skin they all have to show (among other things)

Despite his best efforts moderator Michael Schneider, the LA Bureau Chief for TV Guide, was unable to crack Jeff Davis for spoilers; but suffice it to say, from what is presented in the first hour of the season premiere fans will not be disappointed. Davis did share one thing: that the cast is growing with the addition of new members, including Stephen Lunsford, who plays Matt a possible new love interest for Allison; Gage Golightly, who plays Erica, a classmate who is a newly turned werewolf and Daniel Sharman, who plays Isaac, another classmate who is newly turned who is the “anti-Scott”.

Make sure to check out the two-night season premiere of Teen Wolf on MTV starting tomorrow night after the MTV Movie Awards and watch the conclusion Monday night (June 4) at 10 PM. You can also check your local listings for additional airings as MTV will be reairing the two-hour (plus) premeire.

Don’t miss it!!

Dear Mr. Darcy: A Retelling of Pride and Prejudice
To Be Released on August 7, 2012

In this imaginative retelling of Pride and Prejudice, the classic story is seen through the eyes of its compelling romantic hero, Fitzwilliam Darcy—in a series of revealing letters that casts a sparkling new reflection on the manners and morals of the landed gentry in 19th-century England. Here, for the first time, are the letters written by the exceedingly proud and stubborn Mr. Darcy, covering the life-changing events that defined him. Try as he may, he cannot deny his attraction to this woman with fine eyes, a playful spirit, a mind of her own… and an embarrassing family that is frankly, and utterly, beneath him. But it is Elizabeth who controls both their destinies, and whose surprises will change Darcy’s life yet again.

PREMISE: At long last, Emily Owens feels like she is an actual grown-up. She can finally put her high school days as the geeky-girl-with-flop-sweats behind her; she’s graduated from medical school and is now a first-year intern at Denver Memorial Hospital, where she’ll have the chance to work with world-famous cardiologist Dr. Gina Beckett – and where, not-so-coincidentally, her med-school crush Will Rider is also an intern. So why does everyone keep warning her that the hospital is just like high school? Emily soon finds out the hard way – her high school nemesis, the gorgeous, popular Cassandra Kopelson, is also just starting out at Denver Memorial, and it seems like they’re rivals all over again – not only as surgical interns, but for Will’s attention. Fellow intern Tyra Granger warns Emily that the cliques at Denver Memorial are all too familiar: the jocks have become orthopedic surgeons; the mean girls are in plastics; the rebels are in the ER, and Tyra has her own awkward place as the principal’s kid – her father is the chief resident. Emily’s the new kid all over again, and it’s just as awkward as high school. Only this time around, Emily will have to balance the personal and emotional turmoil of social politics with the high-stakes world of life-and-death medical decisions. At least she has fellow intern Tyra and nerdy-but-cute resident Micah, to count on as friends. Emily is growing to realize that although she may be a geek, she may also grow to be a great doctor, flop sweats and all.
