Last night’s programming options on the major networks were pretty heavy with all of the networks airing new episodes of their dramas along with the premieres of The CW’s DC dramas.

Here is how all of those dramas fared in the overall ratings last night:

As the fall TV season gets into full swing on the major networks, there was still plenty to watch on the cable networks – both dramas, mini-series and made-for-TV movies.

Let’s take a look at how all of the cable dramas performed during the month of September.

CABLE DRAMAS

MONDAYS:

Preacher – The final two episodes of the second season of the AMC fantasy drama aired during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 4 – 1.1 million
September 11 – 972,000 viewers (Finale)

This averages out to 1 million viewers for September. Preacher has yet to be given a third season renewal by AMC.

TUESDAYS:

The Haves and the Have Nots – The OWN soap opera aired the final two episodes of its current season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 5 – 2.6 million
September 12 – 2.6 million (Finale)

This naturally averages out to 2.6 million viewers for September. The Haves and the Have Nots will be back with new episodes on OWN sometime in 2018.

Being Mary Jane – The BET drama aired the final three episodes of its fourth season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 5 – 781,000 viewers
September 12 – 643,000 viewers
September 19 – 815,000 viewers (Finale)

This averages out to 746,000 viewers for September. Being Mary Jane has yet to be renewed for a fifth season by BET.

Manhunt: Unabomber – The Discovery mini-series aired its final two during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 5 – 1 million
September 12 – 930,000 viewers (Finale)

This averages out to 965,000 viewers for September. A second season of Manhunt: Unabomber has yet to be given a second season by Discovery.

American Horror Story: Cult – The long-running FX anthology series returned for a new season starting on September 5, airing four episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 5 – 3.9 million (Season Premiere)
September 12 – 2.4 million
September 19 – 2.2 million
September 26 – 2.1 million

This averages out to 2.7 million viewers for September. A new episode aired on October 3 with the next new episode of American Horror Story: Cult will air on FX on Tuesday, October 10 at 10 PM.

WEDNESDAYS:

Younger – The TV Land dramedy aired the final two episodes of its fourth season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 6 – 758,000 viewers
September 13 – 825,000 viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 792,000 viewers for September. Younger will be back for a fifth season on TV Land sometime in 2018.

Suits – The long-running USA Network legal drama aired the final two episodes from the first half of its seventh season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 6 – 1.6 million
September 13 – 1.7 million (Mid-Season Finale)

This averages out to 1.7 million viewers for September. Suits will be back with the rest of the episodes from its 7th season on the USA Network sometime in 2018.

Greenleaf – The final four episodes of the second season of the OWN drama aired during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 6 – 1.5 million
September 13 – 1.4 million
September 20 – 1.6 million
September 27 – 1.4 million (Season Finale)

This averages out to 1.5 million viewers for September. Greenleaf will return for a third season on OWN sometime in 2018.

The Sinner – The new 8-episode mini-series from the USA Network aired the final three episodes of its debut season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 6 – 1.8 million
September 13 – 1.8 million
September 20 – 2.4 million (Finale)

This averages out to 2.1 million viewers for September. The Sinner has yet to be renewed for a second season by the USA Network.

Channel Zero: No-End House – The Syfy thriller anthology returned for a second season on September 20, airing two episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 20 – 392,000 viewers (Season Premiere)
September 27 – 375,000 viewers

This averages out to 384,000 viewers for September. A new episode aired on October 4 with the next new episode of Channel Zero: No-End House set to air on Syfy on Wednesday, October 11 at 10 PM.

Liar – The 6-episode SundanceTV mini-series debuted on October 27, earning 121,000 viewers. A new episode aired on October 4 with the next new episode of Liar set to air on SundanceTV on Wednesday, October 11 at 10 PM.

Mr. Mercedes – The DirecTV series, aired four new episodes from its debut season during the month, but ratings could not be tracked down for any of those episodes. A new episode aired on October 4 with the final episode set to air on DirecTV on Wednesday, October 11 at 8 PM.

THURSDAYS:

Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce – The Bravo drama aired the final three episodes of its fourth season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 7 – 425,000 viewers
September 14 – 422,000 viewers
September 21 – 392,000 viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 413,000 viewers for September. Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce will return for a 5th season on Bravo sometime in 2018.

FRIDAYS:

Z Nation – The Syfy zombiefest series returned for its fourth season on September 29, earning 575,000 viewers. A new episode aired on October 6 with the next new episode of Z Nation set to air on Syfy on Friday, October 13 at 10 PM.

SATURDAYS:

Halt and Catch Fire – The fourth and final season of the period piece AMC drama aired a two-hour premiere on August 19, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 2 – No episode aired
September 9 – 344,000 viewers
September 16 – 313,000 viewers
September 23 – 354,000 viewers
September 30 – 322,000 viewers

This averages out to 305,000 viewers for September. A new episode of Halt and Catch Fire will air tonight, Saturday, October 7 on AMC at 9 PM.

Versailles – The Ovation period piece drama returned for the start of its second season on September 30, but no ratings could be tracked down for that episode. A new episode will air on Ovation tonight, Saturday, October 7 at 10 PM.

Con Man – The first season of the streaming series from Alan Tudyk aired all of its episodes on September 9, but ratings could not be tracked down.  Season 2 is set to air on Syfy, but an official airdate has yet to be announced.

SUNDAYS:

The Strain – The FX gore-fest aired its final three episodes ever during the month, ending on September 17. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 3 – 1 million
September 10 – 837,000 viewers
September 17 – 995,000 viewers (Series Finale)

This averages out to 944,000 viewers for September.

Teen Wolf – The final five episodes of the sixth and final season of the MTV thriller aired during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 3 – 439,000 viewers
September 10 – 423,000 viewers
September 17 – 428,000 viewers (Hour One)
September 17 – 389,000 viewers (Hour Two)
September 24 – 676,000 viewers (Series Finale and 100th Episode)

This averages out to 471,000 viewers for September.

Chesapeake Shores – The second season of the Hallmark Channel family drama premiered on August 6, airing four episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 3 – 1.8 million
September 10 – 1.8 million
September 17 – 1.7 million
September 24 – 1.9 million

This averages out to 1.8 million viewers for September. A new episode aired on October 1 with the season finale of Chesapeake Shores set to air on Hallmark Channel on Sunday, October 8 at 8 PM.

Ray Donovan – The Showtime crime drama did not air a new episode on September 3, but did air three more new episodes from its fifth season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 3 – No episode aired
September 10 – 1.1 million
September 17 – 1 million
September 24 – 1.2 million

This averages out to 1.1 million for September. A new episode aired on October 1 with the next new episode of Ray Donovan set to air on Showtime on Sunday, October 8 at 9 PM.

The Last Ship – The TNT post-apocalyptic drama aired four new episodes of its fourth season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 3 – 1.7 million
September 10 – 1.5 million
September 17 – 1.6 million
September 24 – 1.5 million

This averages out to 1.6 million viewers for September. A new episode aired on October 1 with the last two episodes of the fourth season of The Last Ship set to air on TNT on Sunday, October 8 at 9 and 10 PM.

Fear the Walking Dead – The AMC zombiefest returned for the rest of its third season on September 10, airing four episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 10 – 2.1 million (Two back-to-back episodes – Mid-Season Premiere)
September 17 – 2 million
September 42 – 2.1 million

This averages out to 2.1 million viewers for September. A new episode aired on October 1 with the next new episode of Fear the Walking Dead set to air on AMC on Sunday, October 8 at 9 PM.

The Deuce – The 70’s-80’s themed series about the seedy world of porn debuted on HBO starting on September 10, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 10 – 830,000 viewers (DEBUT)
September 17 – 839,000 viewers
September 24 – 992,000 viewers

This averages out to 887,000 viewers for September. A new episode aired on October 1 with the next new episode of The Deuce set to air on HBO on Sunday, October 8 at 9 PM.

Outlander – The much anticipated third season of the period piece drama premiered on Starz on September 10, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 10 – 1.5 million (Season Premiere)
September 17 – 1.4 million
September 24 – 1.6 million

This averages out to 1.5 million viewers for September. A new episode aired on October 1 with the next new episode of Outlander set to air on Starz on Sunday, October 8 at 8 PM.

Endeavour – The final two episodes of the fourth season of the British drama aired on PBS during September, but no ratings could be tracked down. Endeavour has yet to be renewed for a fifth season by PBS.

MADE-FOR-TV MOVIES AND MINI-SERIES

There were seven made-for-TV movies and one mini-series that aired during September. Here are the ratings for those movies:

Harvest Love (Hallmark Channel) – 2.7 million
Falling for Vermont (Hallmark Channel) – 2.6 million
Signed Sealed Delivered: Home Again (Hallmark Movies & Mysteries) – 1.2 million
Sea Change (Lifetime) – 750,000 viewers
Ten: Murder Island (Lifetime) – 651,000 viewers
Drink, Slay, Love (Lifetime) – 407,000 viewers
Top of the Lake: China Girl (SundanceTV) – 262,000 viewers [average over 3-nights]
Downsized (TV One) – 204,000 viewers

Ratings results for the cable dramas, mini-series and made-for-TV movies that have and will air in October that can be tracked down will be provided as soon as possible in November.
