As we come close to the end of the first full week of programming on the major networks for 2014, nearly all of the shows are now back on the air and several new shows have debuted.

Now that December is over (HAPPY NEW YEAR BY THE WAY!) that means it’s time to go over the ratings for the month for the cable dramas, made-for-TV movies and mini-series that aired during the month:

Those ratings are all listed below:

CABLE SHOWS

MONDAYS:

Major Crimes – The TNT series aired five more new episodes of its current season during December. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

December 2 – 4.2 million
December 9 – 3.7 million
December 16 – 4.4 million
December 23 – 4.5 million
December 30 – 5.2 million

This averages out to 4.4 million viewers for December. The next new episode of Major Crimes will air on TNT on Monday, January 6 at 9 PM on TNT.

TUESDAYS:

Sons of Anarchy – The long-running FX drama aired its final two episodes of its current season during December. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

December 2 – 4.6 million
December 9 – 5.2 million (Season Finale)

This averages out to 4.9 million viewers for December. A proposed seventh and final season of Sons of Anarchy is planned for later in 2014.

WEDNESDAYS:

American Horror Story: Coven – The FX horror show aired two new episodes, including its fall finale, of its current season during December. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

December 4 – 4.1 million
December 11 – 3.9 million (Fall Finale)

This averages out to 4 million viewers for December. A new episode of American Horror Story: Coven is set to air on FX on Wednesday, January 8 at 10 PM.

Mob City – The 6-hour, 3-night event period piece mob drama debuted on TNT on December 4, airing for three consecutive Wednesdays in December. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

December 4 – 2.3 million
December 11 – 1.4 million
December 18 – 1.4 million (Finale)

This average out to 1.7 million viewers for December. There are no plans by TNT to continue this Mob City.

THURSDAY:

White Collar – The long-running USA Network aired three new episodes of its current season during December. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

December 5 – 2.1 million
December 12 – 2.1 million
December 19 – 2.5 million (Fall Finale)

This averages out to 2.2 million viewers for December. A new episode of White Collar is set to air on the USA Network on Thursday, January 9 at 9 PM.

FRIDAYS:

Haven – The Syfy series aired its two-part season finale in December. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

December 6 – 1.4 million (Part 1 of Season Finale)
December 13 – 1.3 million (Part 2 of Season Finale)

This averages out to 1.4 million viewers for December. A decision on a fifth season of Haven has yet to be made by Syfy.

SATURDAYS:

Atlantis – The new BBC America period-piece drama aired four episodes of its debut season during December. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

December 7 – 270,000 viewers
December 14 – 292,000 viewers
December 21 – 300,000 viewers
December 28 – 370,000 viewers

This averages out to 338,000 viewers for December. A new episode of Atlantis aired on BBC America on January 4 and the next new episode will air on Saturday, January 11 at 9 PM.

SUNDAYS:

Witches of East End – The new supernatural drama aired its final two episodes of its debut season on Lifetime during December. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

December 1 – 1.4 million
December 8 – No episode aired
December 15 – 1.7 million (Season Finale)

This averages out to 1.6 million viewers for December. Witches of East End was renewed for a second season by Lifetime, but an official airdate has yet to be made.

Homeland – The Showtime drama aired the finale three episodes of its current season during December. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

December 1 – 2.1 million
December 8 – 2.1 million
December 15 – 2.4 million (Season Finale)

This averages out to 2.2 million viewers for December. Homeland will return for its fourth season on Showtime later in 2014.

Masters of Sex – The period piece drama aired the finale three episodes of its debut season during December. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

December 1 – 1.1 million
December 8 – 1.2 million
December 15 – 1.2 million

This averages out to 1.2 million viewers for December. Masters of Sex was renewed by Showtime for a second season that is expected to air later in 2014.

Treme – The HBO drama returned for its final short season, airing its season premiere on December 1 and its series finale on December 29, five episodes in total. Sadly, ratings for only one of those five episodes could be tracked down.

MADE-FOR-TV MOVIES AND MINI-SERIES

There were a lot of made-for-TV holiday-themed movies and a few non-holiday-themed movies that aired on the cable networks during December. Here is a list of those movies where ratings could be found (listed highest to lowest):

Sound of Music LIVE (NBC) – 18.5 million
