The February cable ratings report is a little later than usual due to my attendance at PaleyFest 2013 over the first two weekends of March, but let’s take a look at the ratings that could be tracked down for the cable series and the made-for-TV movies that aired last month.
Those ratings are all listed below:
CABLE SHOWS
MONDAYS:
Switched at Birth – The ABC Family drama returned four more new episodes of its current season during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 4 – 1.8 million
February 11 – 1.7 million
February 18 – 1.5 million
February 25 – 1.7 million
This averages out to 1.7 million viewers for the month. The final two episodes of Switched at Birth aired on the ABC Family at the beginning of March. Those ratings will be included in next month’s report.
Bunheads – The ABC Family drama aired its final four episodes before its mid-season break, including the spring finale. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 4 – 1.1 million
February 11 – 967,000 viewers
February 18 – 1.1 million
February 25 – 1 million
This averages out to 1 million viewers for the month. The next new episode of Bunheads will air on ABC Family later this year.
Continuum – The Canadian sci-fi drama aired four more new episodes of its debut season during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 4 – 1 million
February 11 – 1 million
February 18 – 1.1 million
February 25 – 986,000 viewers
This averages out to 1.1 million viewers for the month. The season finale of Continuum aired on Syfy on Monday, March 18 at 8 PM.
Being Human – The American version of the British original aired four more new episodes of its current season during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 4 – 1 million
February 11 – 1.1 million
February 18 – 1.2 million
February 25 – 980,000 viewers
This averages out to 1.1 million viewers for the month. The next new episode of Being Human aired on Syfy on Monday, March 18 at 9 PM.
Lost Girl – The Canadian series aired three more new episodes of its current season on Syfy during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 4 – 844,000 viewers
February 11 – 847,000 viewers
February 18 – 1 million
February 25 – No episode aired
This averages out to 897,000 viewers for the month. The next new episode of Lost Girl aired on Syfy on Monday, March 18 at 10 PM.
Dallas – Four more new episodes of the current season of the reboot of the popular 1980’s soap opera aired during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 4 – 2.2 million
February 11 – 2.4 million
February 18 – 2.5 million
February 25 – 2.5 million
This averages out to 2.4 million viewers for the month. The next new episode of Dallas aired on TNT on Monday, March 19 at 9 PM.
Monday Mornings – The new TNT medical drama debuted on February 4, airing four episodes during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 4 – 1.3 million (DEBUT)
February 11 – 1.2 million
February 18 – 1.2 million
February 25 – 1.2 million
This averages out to 1.2 million viewers for the month. The next new episode of Monday Mornings aired on TNT on Monday, March 19 at 10 PM.
TUESDAYS:
Pretty Little Liars – The ABC Family teen soap aired four more new episodes of its current season during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 5 – 2.8 million
February 12 – 2.4 million
February 19 – 2.6 million
February 26 – 2.7 million
This averages out to 2.6 million viewers for the month. The next new episode of Pretty Little Liars, which will be the spring finale, will air on ABC Family on Tuesday, March 19 at 8 PM.
The Lying Game – This ABC Family teen soap aired four more new episodes of its current season during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 5 – 1.2 million
February 12 – 1.2 million
February 19 – 1.3 million
February 26 – 1.2 million
This averages out to 1.2 million viewers for the month. The final two episodes of the season for The Lying Game aired on ABC Family on March 5 and March 12. Those numbers will be included in next month’s report.
Justified – The FX western-themed cop aired four more new episodes of its current season during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 5 – 2.4 million
February 12 – 2.3 million
February 19 – 2.1 million
February 26 – 2.2 million
This averages out to 2.3 million viewers for the month. The next new episode of Justified will air on FX on Tuesday, March 19 at 10 PM.
White Collar – The popular USA Network aired three more new episodes of its current season during February as well as the season finale airing on March 5. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 5 – 2.3 million
February 12 – No episode aired
February 19 – 1.8 million
February 26 – 2.1 million
March 5 – 2.4 million
This averages out to 2.2 million viewers for the month. The next new season of White Collar will air on the USA Network sometime this summer.
WEDNESDAYS:
Necessary Roughness – The USA Network drama aired the final three episodes of its current season during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 6 – 1.9 million
February 13 – 2 million (Part 1 of the Season Finale)
February 20 – 2 million (Part 2 of the Season Finale)
This averages out to 2 million viewers for the month. The new season of Necessary Roughness will return to the USA Network sometime this summer.
The Americans – The new period piece spy drama aired four more new episodes on FX during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 6 – 2 million
February 13 – 1.6 million
February 20 – 1.9 million
February 27 – 1.4 million
This averages out to 1.7 million viewers for the month. The next new episode of The Americans will air on FX on Wednesday, March 20 at 10 PM.
Southland – The TNT cop drama returned for a new season on February 13, airing three new episodes during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 13 – 1.2 million
February 20 – 1.2 million
February 27 – 1.2 million
This averages out to 1.2 million viewers for the month. The next new episode of Southland will air on TNT on Wednesday, March 20 at 10 PM.
THURSDAYS:
Suits – The USA Network legal drama aired its remaining three episodes of its current season during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 14 – 3.1 million
February 20 – 2.9 million
February 27 – 3.2 million (Season Finale)
This averages out to 3.1 million viewers for the month. The next season of Suits is expected to return to the USA Network something this summer.
FRIDAYS:
Merlin – Four new episodes of the final season of the Syfy series aired during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 1 – 1.5 million
February 8 – 1.5 million
February 15 – 1.3 million
February 22 – 1.4 million
This averages out to 1.4 million viewers for the month. The final five episodes of Merlin will air on Syfy starting on Friday, May 3 at 10 PM.
Banshee – The new Cinemax series aired four more new episodes of its debut season during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 1 – 448,000 viewers
February 8 – 445,000 viewers
February 15 – 465,000 viewers
February 22 – 381,000 viewers
This averages out to roughly 435,000 viewers for the month. The final three episodes of Banshee aired on Cinemax during March, and those numbers will be included in next month’s report.
Spartacus: War of the Damned – The Starz period drama aired three more new episodes of its current season during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 1 – 882,000 viewers
February 8 – 949,000 viewers
February 15 – No new episode aired
February 22 – 878,000 viewers
This averages out to roughly 903,000 viewers for the month. The next new episode of Spartacus: War of the Damned will air on Starz on Friday, March 22 at 10 PM.
SATURDAYS:
Ripper Street – The new BBC America period aired four more new episodes of its debut season during February, but ratings for those episodes could not be tracked down. The remaining episodes of Ripper Street aired earlier in March.
SUNDAYS:
Downton Abbey – The popular British mini-series aired the remaining episodes of its third season on February 3, February 10 and February 17. Ratings could not be tracked down for the February 10 episode, but the ratings for the February 3 episode earned 6.6 million and the final airing on February 17 garnered 8.2 million.
The Walking Dead – The AMC zombiefest returned on February 10, airing three new episodes of its current season during February. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:
February 10 – 12.3 million
February 17 – 11 million
February 24 – 11 million
This averages out to roughly 11.4 million viewers for the month. The next new episode of The Walking Dead will air on AMC on Sunday, March 24 at 10 PM.
MADE-FOR-TV MOVIES
There were a number of made-for-TV movies that aired during February. I have grouped them together by network below:
The Lifetime movies that aired during the month follow:
Betty & Coretta – 2.2 million
Pastor Brown – 2.1 million
Twists of Faith – 2.9 million
The Syfy movies that aired during the month follow:
Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome – 1.1 million
End of the World – 1.9 million
Be My Valentine aired on the Hallmark Channel, earning 2 million viewers.
Meddling Mom aired on Hallmark Movie Channel, but ratings could not be tracked down for that airing.
The National Geographic movie Killing Lincoln earned 3.4 million viewers.
Lastly, the 5-part HBO mini-series Parade’s End airing through February with the following ratings for each airing:
Part 1 – 289,000 viewers
Part 2 – 169,000 viewers
Part 3 – 140,000 viewers
Part 4 – 110,000 viewers
Part 5 – Ratings could not be tracked down
This averages out to approximately 177,000 viewers.
Ratings results for the cable series and the made-for-TV movies that are set to air in March (that, again, can be tracked down) will be provided as soon as possible in April.
