Last night found a lot of programming options on the major networks, ranging from the World Series to reality to comedy and a news special as well as all but one of the Wednesday night dramas airing new episodes.

It’s been a busy couple of months with lots of programming on the cable networks. Time has gone by so quickly that it was necessary for me to combine the ratings for the cable network dramas and the made-for-TV movies that aired from August through the first part of October together.

First let’s take a look at the dramas:

CABLE DRAMAS

MONDAYS:

The Terror: Infamy – The second season of the AMC thriller premiered on August 12, airing three episodes during August; five episodes in September and the final two episodes in the beginning of October.

Here are those ratings:

August 12 – 581,000 viewers (Season Premiere)
August 19 – 446,000 viewers
August 26 – 421,000 viewers
September 2 – 377,000 viewers
September 9 – 358,000 viewers
September 16 – 381,000 viewers
September 23 – 331,000 viewers
September 30 – 283,000 viewers
October 7 – 383,000 viewers
October 14 – 364,000 viewers (Finale)

This averages out to 359,000 viewers for that time frame. AMC has yet to renew The Terror for a third season.

Lodge 49 – The AMC comedy-drama also premiered its second season on August 12, airing three episodes in August; five episodes in September and the final two episodes in October.

Here are those ratings:

August 12 – 246,000 viewers (Season Premiere)
August 19 – 227,000 viewers
August 26 – 250,000 viewers
September 2 – 224,000 viewers
September 9 – 167,000 viewers
September 16 – 189,000 viewers
September 23 – 197,000 viewers
September 30 – 155,000 viewers
October 7 – 147,000 viewers
October 14 – 176,000 viewers (Finale)

This averages out to 198,000 viewers for that time frame. Lodge 49 has yet to be renewed by AMC.

TUESDAYS:

Animal Kingdom – The TNT crime drama aired the final three episodes of its fourth season duringAugust. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 6 – 1.2 million viewers
August 13 – 1.4 million viewers
August 20 – 1.4 million viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 1.3 million viewers for August. Animal Kingdom has been renewed by TNT for a fifth season, which will air sometime next year.

Pose – The FX drama aired the final three episodes of its second season during August. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 6 – 508,000 viewers
August 13 – 547,000 viewers
August 20 – 536,000 viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 530,000 viewers for August. FX has renewed Pose for a third season.

Ambitions – The new OWN soap opera aired the final four episodes, including its fall finale,during August. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 6 – 707,000 viewers
August 13 – 657,000 viewers
August 20 – 739,000 viewers
August 24 – 791,000 viewers (Fall Finale)

This averages out to 724,000 viewers for August. Ambitions will be back with the rest of its debut season on OWN on Tuesday, November 12 at 10 PM.

Mayans M.C. – The second season of the FX crime drama premiered on September 3, airing four episodes during September. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 3 – 1.4 million viewers (Season Premiere)
September 10 – 1.1 million viewers
September 17 – 1.1 million viewers
September 24 – 1 million viewers

This averages out to 1.2 million viewers for September. New episodes aired on October 1, October 8 and October 15 with the next new episode of Mayans M.C. set to air on FX on Tuesday, October 22 at 10 PM.

Greenleaf – The fourth season of the OWN megachurch drama premiered on September 3, airing four episodes during September. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 3 – 1.2 million viewers (Season Premiere)
September 10 – 1.1 million viewers
September 17 – 1.1 million viewers
September 24 – 979,000 viewers

This averages out to 1.1 million viewers for September. New episodes aired on October 1, October 8 and October 15 with the next new episode of Greenleaf set to air on OWN on Tuesday, October 22 at 10 PM.

WEDNESDAYS:

Queen Sugar – The fourth season of the OWN drama aired four more new episodes during August and the final two episodes in September. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 7 – 1.1 million viewers
August 14 – 1.2 million viewers
August 21 – 1 million viewers
August 28 – 1 million viewers
September 4 – 1.1 million viewers
September 11 – 1.1 million viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 1.1 million viewers for that time frame. Queen Sugar has been renewed for a fifth season by OWN, returning at some point next year.

Younger – The half-hour TV Land dramedy aired four new episodes from its sixth season duringAugust and aired its season finale on September 4. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 7 – 605,000 viewers
August 14 – 554,000 viewers
August 21 – 637,000 viewers
August 28 – 547,000 viewers
September 4 – 630,000 viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 595,000 viewers for that time frame. Younger has been renewed for a seventh season by TV Land, and will return at some point next year.

Yellowstone – The Paramount Network drama aired the final four episodes from its second season during August. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 7 – 2.3 million viewers
August 14 – 2.5 million viewers
August 21 – 2.5 million viewers
August 28 – 2.8 million viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 2.5 million viewers for August. Yellowstone will be back for a third season on the Paramount Network sometime next year.

Suits – The long-running USA Network legal drama aired three new episodes during August and the final four episodes from its ninth and final season during September. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 7 – 1 million viewers
August 14 – 955,000 viewers
August 21 – 1.1 million viewers
August 28 – No new episode aired, but a special look at Suits instead
September 4 – 1.1 million viewers
September 11 – 965,000 viewers
September 18 – 955,000 viewers
September 25 – 861,000 viewers (Series Finale)

This averages out to 991,000 viewers for that time frame.

Pearson – The Suits spin-off debuted on July 17 on the USA Network, airing three episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

July 17 – 570,000 viewers (DEBUT)
July 24 – 556,000 viewers
July 31 – 468,000 viewers

This averages out to 531,000 for July. The USA Network has yet to announce if Pearson will be back for a second season.

American Horror Story 1984 – The FX horror anthology premiered on September 18, airing two episodes during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

September 18 – 2.1 million viewers (Season Premiere)
September 25 – 1.5 million viewers

This averages out to 1.8 million viewers for September. New episodes aired on October 2, October 9 and October 16 with the next new episode of American Horror Story 1984 set to air on FX on Wednesday, October 23 at 10 PM.

THURSDAYS:

Queen of the South – The USA Network drama aired four new episodes from 4th season during the month. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 1 – 1.1 million viewers
August 8 – 894,000 viewers
August 15 – 886,000 viewers
August 22 – 1.1 million viewers
August 29 – 1 million viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 996,000 viewers for August. Queen of the South has been renewed for a fifth season by the USA Network, airing sometime next year.

FRIDAYS:

Killjoys – The Syfy favorite aired five new episodes during August with the final three episodes from its fifth and final season airing in September. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 2 – 384,000 viewers
August 9 – 392,000 viewers
August 16 – 294,000 viewers
August 23 – 353,000 viewers
August 30 – 258,000 viewers
September 6 – 259,000 viewers
September 13 – 293,000 viewers
September 20 – 336,000 viewers (Series Finale)

This averages out to 321,000 viewers for the time frame.

SATURDAYS:

MaigretOvation aired both seasons of the series focused on the renowned French detective starring Rowan Atkinson during August and September. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 31 – No ratings could be tracked down (Season 1, Episode 1)
September 7 – 169,000 viewers (Season 1, Episode 2)
September 14 – 119,000 viewers (Season 2, Episode 1)
September 28 – 103,000 viewers (Season 2, Episode 2)

This averages out to approximately 130,000 viewers. There is no word on whether Maigret will get a third season.

SUNDAYS:

Good Witch – The popular Hallmark Channel family drama aired the final three episodes of its fifth season during August. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 4 – 2 million viewers
August 11 – 2.1 million viewers
August 18 – 2.3 million viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 2.1 million viewers for August. The two-hour Good Witch Halloween special will air on the Hallmark Channel on October 19 at 8 PM.

City on a Hill – The Showtime drama set in the 1990s aired the final three episodes of its debut season during August. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 4 – 601,000 viewers
August 11 – 555,000 viewers
August 18 – 569,000 viewers (Finale)

This averages out to 575,000 viewers for August. City on a Hill has been renewed for a second season by Showtime, and is expected back sometime next year.

The Rook – The sci-fi laced Starz drama aired the final three episodes of its debut season during August. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 4 – 157,000 viewers
August 11 – 190,000 viewers
August 18 – 192,000 viewers (Finale)

This averages out to 180,000 for August. The Rook has yet to be renewed for a second season by Starz.

Sweetbitter – The half-hour Starz drama aired the final four episodes of its second season during August. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 4 – 77,000 viewers
August 11 – 108,000 viewers
August 18 – 86,000 viewers (Episode 1)
August 18 – 65,000 viewers (Episode 2)

This averages out to 84,000 viewers for August. Sweetbitter has yet to be renewed for a third season by Starz.

Fear the Walking Dead – The AMC spin-off series returned for the remainder of its fifth season on August 11, airing three episodes during the month as well as the final five episodes during September. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 11 – 1.4 million viewers
August 18 – 1.4 million viewers
August 25 – 1.4 million viewers
September 1 – 1.1 million viewers
September 8 – 1.5 million viewers
September 15 – 1.3 million viewers
September 22 – 1.3 million viewers
September 29 – 1.5 million viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 1.4 million viewers for that time frame. Fear the Walking Dead will be back for a sixth season on AMC sometime next year.

Preacher – The fourth and final season of the AMC thriller premiered on August 4, airing five episodes during August as well as the final five episodes during September. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 4 – 622,000 viewers (Two-Hour Season Premiere)
August 11 – 553,000 viewers
August 18 – 544,000 viewers
August 25 – 527,000 viewers
September 1 – 453,000 viewers
September 8 – 533,000 viewers
September 15 – 450,000 viewers

This averages out to 470,000 viewers for the time frame.

Succession – The HBO drama premiered its second season on August 11, airing three episodes during the month, five episodes during September and the final two episodes in October. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 11 – 612,000 viewers (Season Premiere)
August 18 – 603,000 viewers
August 25 – 607,000 viewers
September 1 – 577,000 viewers
September 8 – 507,000 viewers
September 15 – 610,000 viewers
September 22 – 508,000 viewers
September 29 – 579,000 viewers
October 6 – 705,000 viewers
October 13 – 660,000 viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 597,000 viewers for that time frame. Succession was renewed by HBO for a third season, which will air sometime next year.

Chesapeake Shores – The Hallmark Channel family drama premiered its fourth season on August 31, airing 6 episodes straight through to its finale on September 29. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 31 – 1.8 million viewers (Season Premiere)
September 1 – 1.8 million viewers
September 8 – 1.7 million viewers
September 15 – 1.7 million viewers
September 22 – 1.5 million viewers
September 29 – 1.7 million viewers (Season Finale)

This averages out to 1.7 million viewers for that time frame. Chesapeake Shores has yet to be renewed for a fifth season by the Hallmark Channel.

Power – The crime drama started its sixth and final season on August 31, and aired five new episodes through September. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 31 – 1.5 million viewers (Season Premiere)
September 1 – 1.1 million viewers
September 8 – 1.1 million viewers
September 15 – 1.2 million viewers
September 22 – 1.2 million viewers
September 29 – 1.2 million viewers

This averages out to 1.2 million viewers for that time frame. New episodes aired on October 6 and October 13 with the next new episode of Power set to air on Starz on Sunday, October 20 at 9 PM.

The Affair – The Showtime drama aired its premiere on August 31, airing five episodes in September as well. The ratings for those episodes are as follows:

August 31 – 464,000 viewers (Season Premiere)
September 1 – 417,000 viewers
September 8 – 405,000 viewers
September 15 – 379,000 viewers
September 22 – 382,000 viewers
September 29 – 430,000 viewers

This averages out to 413,000 viewers for that time frame. New episodes aired on October 6 and October 13 with the next new episode of The Affair set to air on Showtime on Sunday, October 20 at 9 PM.

Pennyworth – The new EPIX drama focusing on Bruce Wayne’s faithful butler in his early years aired four new episodes during August and aired four new episodes during September, including its final episode on September 29. No ratings could be tracked down for those episodes, though. EPIX has yet to renew Pennyworth for a second season.

MADE-FOR-TV MOVIES AND MINI-SERIES

There were 14 made-for-TV movies which aired during September. Here are the ratings for those movies that could be tracked down:

All Summer Long (Hallmark Channel) – 2.2 million viewers

An Aurora Teagarden Mystery: An Inheritance To Die For (Hallmark Movies & Mysteries) – 1.4 million viewers
Chronicle Mysteries: The Deep End (Hallmark Movies & Mysteries) – 1.4 million viewers
An Aurora Teagarden Mystery: A Game of Cat and Mouse (Hallmark Movies & Mysteries) – 1.3 million viewers
