Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:
On June 25, the documentary I Am: Celine Dion will debut on Amazon Prime. Directed by Academy Award nominee Irene Taylor, this documentary promises a behind-the-scenes look at the singer’s struggle with stiff person syndrome. It will serve as a love letter to her fans, highlighting the music that has guided her life while also showcasing the resilience of the human spirit.
The finale of Dark Matter will air online on Apple TV+ on June 26; while that same night, the series finale of Walker will air at 8 PM on CW.
On June 26, the new drama Land of Women will debut online today on Apple TV+. Eva Longoria stars as Gala, a New York empty nester whose life is turned upside down when her husband implicates the family in financial improprieties, and she is forced to flee the city alongside her aging mother (Carmen Maura) and teenage daughter (Victoria Bazúa). To escape the dangerous criminals to whom Gala’s now vanished husband is indebted, the three women hide in the same charming wine town in northern Spain that Gala’s mother fled 50 years ago, vowing never to return. The women seek to start anew and hope their identities will remain unknown, but gossip in the small town quickly spreads, unraveling their deepest family secrets and truths.
The Amazon Prime 8-episode period piece drama My Lady Jane will debut online on June 27. Inspired by the best-selling book, this quick-witted series is a radical retelling of English royal history, in which King Henry VIII’s son Edward does not die of tuberculosis, Lady Jane Grey (Emily Bader) is not beheaded, and neither is her rascal of a husband Guildford. At the center of this rollicking new series is the brilliant and headstrong Jane who is unexpectedly crowned queen overnight and finds herself the target of nefarious villains coming for the crown (and her head). The cast includes Dominic Cooper, Jim Broadbent and Anna Chancellor.
On June 27, the new supernatural-themed drama Domino Day: Lone Witch will debut its first two episodes online on both Sundance Now and AMC+. This show is being hailed as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Charmed.” It follows Domino Day, a powerful young witch with a dark secret: she has to feed on the energy of humans to survive. What she doesn’t know is that a coven of witches is already tracking her every move, convinced they have to stop her before her powers destroy everyone and everything around her. When a dangerous figure from Domino’s past comes back to haunt her, will it be a fresh start for them all or a final showdown?
The Apple TV+ movie Fancy Dance will debut online on June 28. Since her sister’s disappearance, Jax (Lily Gladstone) has cared for her niece Roki (Isabel Deroy-Olson) by scraping by on the Seneca-Cayuga reservation in Oklahoma. Every spare minute goes into finding her missing sister while also helping Roki prepare for an upcoming powwow. At the risk of Jax losing custody to Roki’s grandfather, Frank (Shea Whigham), the pair hit the road and scour the backcountry to track down Roki’s mother in time for the powwow. What begins as a search gradually turns into a far deeper investigation into the complexities and contradictions of Indigenous women moving through a colonized world while at the mercy of a failed justice system.
Also on June 28, the season finale of The Chi will air online on Paramount+; while that same day the finale of the new series Destination Heaven will air online on Great American Pure Flix.
The Netflix feature film A Family Affair will debut online on June 28. An unexpected romance triggers comic consequences for a young woman (Joey King), her mother (Nicole Kidman) and the young woman’s former boss (Zac Efron), grappling with the complications of love, sex, and identity. Kathy Bates also stars.
On June 29, the Hallmark Channel “Christmas in July” holiday movie Falling Like Snowflakes will debut at 8 PM. A photographer (Rebecca Dalton), determined to complete her exhibit by capturing a rare photo of a 12-sided snowflake, enlists the help of a childhood friend (Marcus Rosner) and they go on a mission they’ll never forget.
Lastly on June 30, the finale of Interview With the Vampire will air online on AMC+ and at 9 PM on AMC; while that same night the finale of The Chi will air on Showtime at 9 PM; and also on June 30, the new MGM+ series Hotel Cocaine will move to its new timeslot of 9 PM starting tonight.
