Top (L to R): Jamie Roy and Harriet Slater
Bottom (L to R): Jeremy Irvine and Hermione Corfield

Starz has announced the main cast as well as a story change for the Outlander spin-off series Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

First of all, the new drama was originally going to center only on Jamie Fraser’s parents – Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie, but now it will also tell the story of Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser’s parents – Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp.

The official logline for the series is: “The series will center on these two parallel love stories set in two different time periods, with Jamie’s parents in the early 18th-century Scottish Highlands and Claire’s parents in World War I England.”

Thanks to the folks at TV Line: “As fans of the series know, Claire’s memories of her parents are hazy at best; Henry and Julia died in a car accident when their daughter was a young girl. She was raised by her uncle, Quentin Lambert Beauchamp, whom she called “Uncle Lamb.” Much more is known about Jamie’s mother and father, stories about whom are woven into several of the Diana Gabaldon novels on which Starz’s Outlander is based.”

The following are the cast members who will be playing these remarkable characters: Jamie Roy (Condor’s Nest) will play Brian and Harriet Slater (Pennyworth and Belgravia: The Next Chapter) will play Ellen. Meanwhile, Jeremy Irvine (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) and Hermione Corfield (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) will play Henry and Julia, respectively.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood will have a 10-episode first season with Matthew B. Roberts serving as showrunner, executive producer and writer as well as Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis both serving as executive producer and Gabaldon serving as a consulting producer.
