After a tumultuous year, the major networks were back – albeit virtually – with upfront presentations, announcing their proposed fall line-ups that include all of the returning shows and the new shows that will debuting.

Here is the breakdown for ABC:

Queens – Estranged and out-of-touch, four women in their 40s reunite for a chance to recapture their fame and regain the swagger they had as the Nasty Bitches, their ’90s group that made them legends in the hip-hop world. The cast includes Actress-Rapper Eve, Brandy (Moesha), Naturi Naughton (Power), Nadine Velazquez (My Name Is Earl), Pepi Sonuga (Famous in Love) and Taylor Selé (P-Valley).

The limited series Women of the Movement will air as a mid-season event. The series will shine a light on Emmett Till’s mother, Mamie Till-Mobley (relative newcomer Adrienne Warren), and her fight for justice for her murdered son (newcomer Cedric Joe). The cast also includes Tonya Pinkins, Ray Fisher and Glynn Turman.

Big Leap – A group of diverse underdogs from all different walks of life compete to be part of a competition reality series that is putting on a modern, hip remake of Swan Lake. What they lack in the traditional dancer body type, they make up for with their edge, wit and desire to reimagine an iconic story to fit their own mold. The ensemble cast includes Scott Foley (Scandal and Whiskey Cavalier), Piper Perabo (Covert Affairs), Teri Polo (The Fosters), Mallory Jansen (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Kevin Daniels (Council of Dads), Ser’Darius Blain (Charmed and the Jumanji reboot movie franchise) [among others].

Our Kind of People – The drama takes place in the aspirational world of Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard, a historical stronghold where the rich and powerful Black elite have come to play for over 50 years. Strong-willed single mom Angela Vaughn (Yaya DaCosta from Chicago Med) sets out to reclaim her family’s name and make an impact with her revolutionary hair care line that highlights the innate, natural beauty of Black women. But she soon discovers a dark secret about her mother’s past that will turn her world upside-down and shake up this community forever. Morris Chestnut (The Resident) will also star.

9-1-1: Lone Star will be back during mid-season.  The new FOX dramas The Cleaning Lady and Monarch will also debut during mid-season.  The descriptions of each show is below:

The Cleaning Lady – Based on the Argentine series La Chica que Limpia, this darkly aspirational character drama follows a whip-smart doctor who comes to the U.S. for a medical treatment to save her ailing son. But when the system fails and pushes her into hiding, she refuses to be beaten down and marginalized. Instead, she becomes a cleaning lady for the mob and starts playing the game by her own rules. The cast includes Élodie Yung (Marvel’s Daredevil and The Defenders) and Adan Canto (Designated Survivor).

Monarch – The series will be about the Romans, America’s first family of country music, a multi-generational, fiercely talented family. But while their name is synonymous with honesty, the very foundation of their success is a lie. When their reign as country royalty is put in jeopardy, Nicky Roman, the heir to the crown, already battling an industry stacked against her, will stop at nothing to protect her family’s legacy. The cast has yet to be announced.

Ordinary Joe – The series explores the three parallel lives of the show’s main character (James Wolk from Zoo and Tell Me a Story) and after he makes a pivotal choice at a crossroads in his life, asking the question of how different life might look if you made your decision based on love, loyalty or passion. The cast will include Natalie Martinez (Under the Dome), Charlie Barnett (Arrow and Russian Doll) and Elizabeth Lail (YOU and Once Upon a Time).

Tuesday:

10 PM New Amsterdam

La Brea – When a massive sinkhole mysteriously opens in Los Angeles, it tears a family in half, separating mother and son from father and daughter. When part of the family find themselves in an unexplainable primeval world, alongside a disparate group of strangers, they must work to survive and uncover the mystery of where they are and if there is a way back home. The ensemble cast includes Natalie Zea (The Detour and Justified), Eoin Macken (The Night Shift and Merlin), Jon Seda (Chicago P.D.) and Nicholas Gonzalez (The Good Doctor) [among others].

This Is Us will be back for its sixth and final season during mid-season; and the Canadian medical drama Transplant will also be back for a second season during mid-season. The NBC dramas that are on the bubble – Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Manifest, Debris and Good Girls – have not been cancelled YET; and reps for the network claim a final decision for all four shows will be made in the coming weeks.
