First the new NBC drama Outlaw, which stars Jimmy Smits, had it’s production halted; now the network has decided to move it from its Friday night timeslot at 10 PM to Saturdays. The remaining four episode are expected to still air.

NOTE: Thanks to the Live Feed at The Hollywood Reporter for the details.

UPDATE: Technically the show has been canceled with the network simply allowing the four remaining episodes to air for those few viewers who actually watched the series.

Thanks to the folks at SpoilerTV for the following details about the return of some of TNT shows:

The Closer kicks off a five-episode run, including a two-part Christmas special starting December 6 at 9 PM. This will be followed by Men of a Certain Age at 10 PM.

Leverage will make a brief return on December 12 with a Christmas-themed episode followed by its 2-hour season finale, which is expected to air on December 19.

Are you a fan of the USA Network shows White Collar and/or Royal Pains? Are you looking forward to the debut of the network’s new show Fairly Legal (formerly known as Facing Kate), starring Sarah Shahi (Life) and Michael Trucco (Battlestar Galactica)?

Well then this news should make you very happy. The network has announced return/premiere dates for the above shows.

Here are the details:

The fall TV season is now going into its third week and it’s proving to be interesting what shows are popular with the viewers and what shows just aren’t cutting it. In fact, two new shows have already fallen victim to cancellation: Lone Star and My Generation.

Which ones will be next? Only time will tell, but in the meantime, here are recommendations for this week (Oct. 4 to 10) of shows that you should be watching or that I ask for you to please consider watching.

Monday, October 4:

Hawaii Five-0 (which is being touted by CBS as the number 1 new show) will air another new episode at 10 PM.

Castle will be back with its next new episode on ABC at 10:01 PM.

Chuck and The Event will be back with new episodes on NBC at 8 and 9 PM respectively.

Tuesday, October 5:

No Ordinary Family airs its second episode on ABC at 8 PM.

Stargate Universe is back with a new episode on Syfy at 9 PM followed by the return of Caprica at 10 PM.

Check out NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles and The Good Wife on CBS at 8, 9 and 10 PM respectively.

Glee has another new episode on FOX at 8 PM.

Life Unexpected will be back with a new episode on the CW at 9 PM.

Unnatural History has another new episode on the Cartoon Network at 8 PM (but please check local listings for start time).

Wednesday, October 6:

Undercovers is back with another new episode on NBC at 8 PM.

Terriers returns with a new episode on FX at 10 PM.

Law & Order: UK debuts on BBC America at 8 PM.

Thursday, October 7:

Bones and Fringe return with new episodes on FOX at 8 and 9 PM respectively.

Friday, October 8:

The following is a list of new and/or returning shows for the major networks and some of the cable channels as well as made-for-TV movies that you can expect to see on TV in October:

October 1 – The cable channel GMC will debut its new movie The Way Home at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Dean Cain and Lori Beth Edgeman (Army Wives) star in this fact based movie about a family ripped apart by the disappearance of their little boy.

NOTE: Check your local listings for this cable channel. The movie will be reaired on October 2 at 8 PM and October 3 at 1PM

October 3 – The season premiere of CSI: Miami will air on CBS at 10 PM

October 3 – The Glades will air its summer season finale on A&E at 10 PM

October 3 – Law & Order: UK will debut on BBC America at 10:30 PM

Show Synopsis: Much like it’s US counterparts, the series focuses on detectives and the lawyers who investigate and prosecute crimes; but this time it’s set in London and stars Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica), Bradley Walsh (The Old Curiosity Shop), Ben Daniels (The State Within) and Freema Agyeman (Doctor Who).

October 4 – New episodes of Lie To Me will start airing tonight at 9 PM on FOX, replacing the recently canceled Lone Star (original premiere date moved up nearly a month)

October 5 – The last half of season one of Caprica will be back on Syfy starting at 10 PM

October 8 – The summer season finale of Haven will air on Syfy at 10 PM

October 8 – The new Teen Nick series Gigantic premieres (check local listings for time)

Show Synopsis: Grace Gummer (Meryl Streep’s daughter) stars as the daughter of two A-list actors making her way along with her younger brother through Hollywood’s “It” cricles while trying to stay grounded.

October 9 – The Syfy movie Monsterwolf will premiere at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: On the outskirts of a small Louisiana town, a drilling crew sets blast charges to tap an oil deposit – releasing the Kachinawaya, a Native American animal spirit meant to protect Indian lands from invaders. The movie stars Robert Picardo (Star Trek: Voyager) and Jason London (Wildfire).

October 9 – The Hallmark Movie Channel movie After the Fall will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Andrea Bowen (Desperate Housewives) stars as a driven equestrian who suffers a near fatal injury during a horse show. Her protective single father (Greg Evigan) decides to enter her into an intense physical therapy program as part of a research study. There she meets a rough around the edges punk rock patient (Fiona Dourif) and her new next-door neighbor, an ex-cowboy (Rick Malambri) who encourages her to get back on her horse.

October 15 – Sanctuary will actually be back on Syfy at 10 PM tonight instead of on September 28 (and back in its old timeslot)

October 16 – Tower Prep is the second non-animated series on the Cartoon Network that will debut at 9 PM

Show Synopsis: This action thriller tells the story of a rebellious teen, Ian (Drew Van Acker from the online series The Lake), who wakes up one morning to find himself trapped at a mysterious prep school focused on tapping into the “unique potential” of its students. Ian forms a secret group with fellow students, including CJ (Elise Gatien from Smallville), Gabe (Ryan Pinkston from Quintuplets) and Suki (newcomer Dyana Liu).

NOTE: Check your local listings for airtime and date, as this series may not air until October 19.

October 17 – The summer season finale of Rubicon will air on AMC at 9 PM followed by the finale of Mad Men at 10 PM

October 17 – The BBC America series Luther debuts at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: Idris Elba (The Wire and The Losers) stars as John Luther, a brilliant detective tormented by the darker side of humanity, shining a light into the hearts and minds of psychopaths and killers and the shadowy spaces of his own soul. The cast includes Ruth Wilson (The Prisoner and Jane Eyre) and Indira Varma (Rome).

October 23 – The movie Growing the Big One will debut on the Hallmark Channel at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Radio DJ Emma Silver (Shannen Doherty from Charmed) is leading a chic life in Seattle when she finds her beloved grandfather has died. Traveling to Valleyville to take care of the details, Emma is stunned to learn her grandfather has left her his farm, along with a sizable amount of debt. To keep the bank from foreclosing, Emma decides to follow in her grandfather’s footsteps and enter Valleyville’s annual pumpkin growing contest with his prized seeds. She reluctantly teams up with her neighbor Seth (Kavan Smith from Stargate Atlantis and Eureka) in hopes the prize money can save her farm and his business from going under. As Emma works to adapt to farming, grow the biggest pumpkin and win the prize money, she may actually find the greatest prize is one she can’t put a price on.

October 23 – The Nickelodeon movie The Boy Who Cried Werewolf will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Victoria Justice (Victorious) stars as Jordan Sands, a shy and unpopular teen who, through an accident, is transformed into a werewolf during a visit to Wolfsberg, Romania where her family has inherited an ancient castle. Brooke Shields (Lipstick Jungle) and Brooke D’Orsay (Royal Pains and Drop Dead Diva) co-star.

October 24 – BBC America present another adaptation of the classic novel Brideshead Revisited at 3 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Matthew Goode (Watchmen) plays Charles Ryder, an impressionable middle-class art student who becomes fascinated with the posh lifestyle of his Oxford schoolmate, Sebastian Flyte (Ben Whishaw). Charles spends the summer with Sebastian’s well-off family at their majestic estate, Brideshead Castle, where he falls in love with Sebastian’s sister, Julia. Over the course of two World Wars, Charles is immersed in the self-indulgent world of the Flyte family, and all the forbidden love and heartbreaking loss of innocence that involvement brings.

October 24 – Sherlock will air as part of the PBS Masterpiece Mystery lineup (check your local listings for time)

MINI-SERIES SYNOPSIS: Set in contemporary London – and based on the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle classic – Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) becomes partnered with his new roommate, Afghanistan war vet James Watson (Martin Freeman) to solve all manner of complicated crimes.

NOTE: Sherlock will also air on October 31 and November 7 on PBS (check your local listings for time)

October 25 – In Treatment will be back with new episodes on HBO (check local listings for time)

NEWLY ADDED:
October 26 – The digital series Riese: Kingdom Falling will start airing on syfy.com/riese

WEB SERIES SYNOPSIS: Airing every Tuesday and Thursday, this 10-part series will be narrated by Amanda Tapping and is about Eleysia, a dying kingdom where resources are dwindling and compassion is fading. Distrust and anxiety have clouded people’s minds, causing a regression into primitive ways of thinking. People have grown restless, almost feral. Rituals and mythology have resurged, and the darker side of mankind has begun to reveal itself. Riese, a wanderer, travels across the decaying lands of Eleysia with her wolf, Fenrir. Marked as a heretic by religious group The Sect and the new Empress, Amara , Riese must evade their assassins and discover their true intentions for Eleysia. The cast includes Christine Chatelain (Sanctuary and The Bone Collector), Sharon Taylor (Stargate Universe) Ben Cotton (Harper’s Island), Allison Mack (Smallville), Ryan Robbins (Sanctuary and Caprica), Patrick Gilmore (Stargate Universe), Alessandro Juliani (Battlestar Galactica and Smallville) and Emilie Ullerup (Sanctuary).

October 27 – The final season of Friday Night Lights will air exclusively on DirecTV (don’t worry it will air on NBC at a later time) at 9 PM

October 30 – The made-for-TV movie Red will air on Syfy at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The movie stars Felicia Day (Buffy, The Guild and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog), Kavan Smith (Stargate Atlantis) and Stephen McHattie (The Jesse Stone movies) and focuses on a descendant of Little Red Riding Hood who brings her fiancé home to meet her family and tell him about the family business – they are werewolf hunters.

October 31 – The new AMC series The Walking Dead will debut at 10 PM with a 90-minute airing

Show Synopsis: The series tells the story of life following a zombie apocalypse and the survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln from Love Actually). Jon Bernthal (Eastwick and The Pacific) plays a former member of the police department, Sarah Wayne Callies (Prison Break) is Rick’s wife Lori, Laurie Holden (The Shield and The X-Files) is one of two surviving sisters of the disaster and newcomer Steven Yeun as an expert scavenger.

October 31 – Being Human all-day marathon on BBC America of season 1 and 2 episodes (check your local listings for start and end times)

Now that most of the new and returning shows on the major networks have all aired (for the most part), this week’s recommendations will include shows that I have already talked about as well as a few new and/or returning shows.

Here are the recommendations for September 27 to October 3:

Monday, September 27:

Hawaii Five-0 (which is being touted by CBS as the: number 1 new show) will air its second episode at 10 PM.

Castle will be back with its next new episode on ABC at 10:01 PM.

Chuck will return for another hour of adventure on NBC at 8 PM.

The jury is still out on both the new show Lone Star on FOX – which airs at 9 PM as well as the new NBC series The Event, which also airs at 9 PM. Tune in for the second episodes of these shows to judge for yourself.

NOTE:  The Event will be reaired on NBC on Saturday, October 2 at 8 PM.

Tuesday, September 28:

The new series No Ordinary Family will debut on ABC at 8 PM.

NOTE:  This debut episode will also be reaired on ABC on Friday, October 1 at 9 PM.

Stargate Universe will be back with a new season of episodes on Syfy at 9 PM.

The Good Wife is back on CBS with its season premiere at 10 PM preceded by new episodes of NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles at 8 and 9 PM respectively.

Glee will return with its second episode of the new season on FOX at 8 PM.

Life Unexpected will air another new episode on the CW at 9 PM.
