After All These Years

The Hallmark Movie Channel film After All These Years will debut on April 20 at 8 PM.

Audrey Brandon (Wendie Malick from Hot in Cleveland) has just celebrated her 30th anniversary with her “perfect” husband, Michael (Barclay Hope from The Killing), when he leaves her for a younger woman. Soon after, Audrey is shocked to find Michael murdered on her kitchen floor. When Audrey is named as the primary suspect, she becomes a fugitive on the hunt for the real killer. With some help along the way from best friends Anita (Andrea Martin from My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and Phyllis (Martha Burns), former student J.J. (Matt Ward from Red Riding Hood) and former love David (Gregory Harrison), Audrey investigates the case to clear her name.

Hemlock Grove

On April 19, the entire 13-episode new Netflix series called Hemlock Grove will debut online today

This online series is a gripping tale of murder, mystery and monsters set in a ravaged Pennsylvania steel town that starts with the body of a young girl, mangled and murdered in the shadow of the former Godfrey steel mill. Some suspect an escapee from the White Tower, a biotech facility owned by the former steel magnates. Others believe the killer could be Peter, a 17-year-old Gypsy kid (Landon Liboiron from Terra Nova) from the wrong side of the tracks, who tells his classmates he’s a werewolf. Or it could be Roman (Bill Skarsgard, brother of Alexander Skarsgard from True Blood), the arrogant Godfrey scion, whose sister Shelley is disturbingly deformed and whose mother, Olivia (Famke Janssen from the X-Men franchise), the otherworldly beautiful and controlling grand dame of Hemlock Grove.

Defiance

The new Syfy series Defiance will debut on April 15 at 9 PM.

This series is set in the near future in an exotically transformed planet Earth, its landscapes permanently altered following the sudden — and tumultuous — arrival of seven unique alien races. A newly-formed civilization of humans and aliens must learn to co-exist peacefully.

The series stars Grant Bowler (True Blood), Julie Benz (Angel), Stephanie Leonidas (Whitechapel), Tony Curran (Underworld Evolution), Jaime Murray (Warehouse 13), Graham Greene, Mia Kirshner (The Vampire Diaries) and Fionnula Flanagan.

Stalkers

On April 13, the Lifetime made-for-TV movie Stalkers will air at 8 PM.

Drea de Matteo (The Sopranos), Mena Suvari (American Beauty) and Jodi Lyn O’Keefe (Prison Break) will star in this movie about a tough hot-headed cop with a troubled past who teams up with a polished, politically savvy Assistant District Attorney to take down a dangerous stalker.

Eve of Destruction

On April 12 and April 13, the Reelz Channel mini-series Eve of Destruction will air at 8 PM both night.

When two scientists attempt to discover unlimited energy, their experiment is sabotaged by eco-terrorists. The result is a dark energy black hole that could destroy the planet.

The film stars Steven Weber (Wings), Christina Cox (Blood Ties) and Treat Williams (White Collar and Everwood).

The new Starz drama Da Vinci’s Demons will debut on April 12 at 10 PM.

This historical fantasy tells the “untold” story of a young Leonardo da Vinci (Tom Riley from Lost in Austen), the world’s greatest genius, during his turbulent youth in Renaissance Florence. As a 25-year old artist, inventor, swordsman, lover, dreamer and idealist, he struggles to live within the confines of his own reality and time as he begins to not only see the future, but invent it.

Hannibal

On April 4, the new NBC thriller Hannibal will debut at 10 PM.

The series is a contemporary take on the characters from Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon novel that focuses on the fledgling relationship between FBI agent Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and his mentor Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen).

The cast includes Laurence Fishburne and Caroline Dhavernas.

Spies of Warsaw

The BBC America 2-part mini-series Spies of Warsaw will debut on April 3 at 9 PM.

French and German intelligence operatives are locked in a life-and-death struggle in the espionage arena. At the French embassy, a decorated war hero of the 1914 war, Colonel Jean-Francois Mercier (David Tennant from Doctor Who), is sucked into a world of abduction, betrayal and international intrigue from the diplomatic salons to the back alleys of Warsaw. Mercier simultaneously finds himself in a passionate love affair with Anna (Janet Montgomery from Made in Jersey), a Parisian lawyer for the League of Nations. Their complicated love affair intensifies as German tanks drive through the Black Forest.

On April 3, the DirecTV drama Rogue will debut at 9 PM.

Thandie Newton stars as a morally and emotionally-conflicted undercover detective who is tormented by the possibility that her own actions contributed to her son’s mysterious death.

Kavan Smith (Stargate SG-1) and Marton Csokas (The Bourne Supremacy) also stars.

Ben Hur

The four-hour mini-series Ben Hur will debut on Ovation on March 31 at 8 PM.

Based on the novel “Ben-Hur: A tale of Christ” by Lew Wallace follows Judah Ben Hur (Joseph Morgan from The Vampire Diaries), a wealthy Jewish prince who is betrayed by his childhood friend, Messala. Eventually enslaved, Ben Hur becomes a hero when he saves the life of a Roman leader and soon receives new wealth and power. His quest, though, is to deliver vengeance upon Messala for the destruction of the Ben Hur family. During his journey for redemption, Ben Hur challenges his foe to a chariot race to the death. The mini-series will air during an Easter weekend programming event.

The cast includes Emily VanCamp (Revenge), Stephen Campbell Moore (Titanic mini-series), Kristin Kreuk (Beauty And the Beast), Simon Andreu (The Cold Light of Day), Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), James Faulkner (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Alex Kingston (Doctor Who), Ray Winstone (Great Expectations), Kris Holden-Ried (Lost Girl) and Ben Cross (William & Kate).

NOTE: This movie was originally to be released in 2010 before Morgan landed his role on The Vampire Diaries; before Revenge or Beauty And the Beast (for which VanCamp and Kruek are in the lead roles, of course) were picked up by ABC and The CW respectively; before Downton Abbey (which stars Bonneville) became the international sensation for which it has become and right before the debut of Lost Girl (which stars Holden-Ried) debuted in Canada.
