Riese: Kingdom Falling (Novel)

Did you get swept up in the online series and eventually Syfy supported web series Riese that featured cast members Christine Chatelain (Sanctuary and Supernatural), Ben Cotton (Harper’s Island), Sharon Taylor (Stargate: Atlantis) and Patrick Gilmore (Stargate: Universe) as well as appearances by Allison Mack (Smallville), Ryan Robbins and Emilie Ullerup (Sanctuary) and Alessandro Juliani (Battlestar Galactica) and was narrated by none other than Amanda Tapping (Stargate franchise and Sanctuary)?

Well if you answered yes to that question, you just might want to hit your local bookstore to pick up the prequel hardcover novel “Riese: Kingdom Falling” co-written by series co-creator Ryan Copple and Greg Cox.

Or, you order it at Amazon here

Riese (Web Series)

In the novel “Riese: Kingdom Falling“, Riese has never been happy as a princess; she’d much rather be hunting or fighting than sitting through another lesson on court etiquette. When she meets Micah, a wandering artist with a mysterious past, she pretends to be a peasant—it’s a chance to be just a normal girl with a normal boy for a while. But with war decimating her once-proud nation and the sinister clockwork Sect infiltrating her mother’s court, Riese’s moments with Micah are the only islands of sanity left in a world gone mad. As her kingdom falls and the Sect grows ever stronger, will Riese remain true to her duty as a princess…or risk everything on a boy she barely knows?

Actress Candice Accola (The Vampire Diaries) and actor Reid Ewing (Modern Family) have joined the cast of Alloy Entertainment’s popular web series Dating Rules From My Future Self, which stars Shiri Appleby (Life Unexpected and Roswell), as a twenty-something looking for love with the help of her two best friends and secret texts from her future self.

Accola will play Chloe Cunningham, a 26-year-old who receives a visit from her older, wiser self via face time who texts her advice from 10 years in the future, thanks to an app provided by Appleby’s character. Details on Ewing’s role are, as yet, unavailable.

The six-episode second season begins production in Los Angeles this week and is expected to premiere online in August.

The first season of Dating Rules From My Future Self received nearly 14 million views and ranks as the best-performing short-form series on Hulu to date. During its first week it served as the No. 1 most-watched show and No. 6 most popular video on YouTube. It stands as the company’s most successful web property to date.

Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter for the intel.
