On September 17, the new ABC drama High Potential will debut at 10 PM. Based on the popular French series, this crime procedural will star Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, a single mom with an exceptional mind whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective (Daniel Sunjata.) The series also stars Javicia Leslie, Judy Reyes, Deniz Akdeniz and Garret Dillahunt.
The Hulu documentary Child Star will debut online on September 17. This documentary will explore the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the lens of some of the world’s most well-known former child stars. Through celebrity interviews, verite scenes and archival footage, this film deconstructs the stages of earlier stardom and looks at the entertainment system over the last century. Among those to be featured are Demi Lovato, Drew Barrymore, Kenan Thompson, Christina Ricci, Raven-Symoné and JoJo Siwa [among others].
On September 18, the first two episodes of the new Disney+ series Agatha All Along will debut online. The infamous Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth Teen (Joe Locke) helps break her free from a distorted spell. The ensemble cast includes Aubrey Plaza, Patti LuPone, Paul Adelstein, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn and Debra Jo Rupp.
The Hallmark+ movie Love on the Danube: Royal Getaway will debut online on September 19. A romantic tale of a heartbroken art gallery manager, who takes her honeymoon river cruise solo and meets an incognito prince. The movie stars Jessica Sipos and Dan Jeannotte.
On September 19, The Jane Mysteries: Murder at Moseby will also debut online on Hallmark+. Jane (Jodie Sweetin) goes undercover at her alma mater to help her college boyfriend solve a crime he may have witnessed years ago during the annual Edgar Allan Poe Festival. The cast includes Stephen Huszar, Paris Jefferson and Rainbow Sun Francks.
The limited series debut of The Penguin will air on HBO at 9 PM on September 19. Following the events of The Batman (2022), Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. the Penguin, (a completely unrecognizable Colin Farrell) makes a play to seize the reins of the crime world in Gotham. The ensemble cast includes Cristin Milioti, Carmen Ejogo, Clancy Brown, Michael Kelly, Rhenzy Feliz, Scott Cohen, Deirdre O’Connell, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Teho Rossi.

Michael Sheen stars as Prince Andrew and Ruth Wilson stars as Emily Maitlis, in a limited series that demonstrates the power of journalism through a pivotal moment in British history. One night. The anthology series follows Lyle and Erik Menendez (newcomers Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez), two brothers who fatally shot their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez (Javier Bardem and Chloe Sevigny) in their Beverly Hills home in 1989. During their trials, the brothers cited years of abuse as the reason for murdering their parents. However, prosecutors argued that their motive was to get their hands on the family fortune. The ensemble cast includes Nathan Lane, Ari Graynor, Leslie Grossman, Dallas Roberts, Jason Butler Harner, Enrique Murciano, Drew Powell and Jeff Perry.

On September 22, the new CBS drama Matlock will air on a special night and the special time of 8 PM. The series follows Madeline “Matty” Matlock (the one and only Kathy Bates) [who is not related to the original TV character of Ben Matlock] as she rejoins the work force at a prestigious law firm, where she uses her wily tactics to win cases and expose wrongdoing. The cast includes David Del Rio, Jason Ritter, Leah Lewis, Skye P. Marshall as well as Eme Ikwuakor, Beau Bridges, Nicole de Boer and John Billingsley. Matlock will encore this pilot episode on October 10 and will then be back with new episodes starting on October 17.
The series finale of Snowpiercer will air online on AMC+ today as well as on AMC on September 22 at 9 PM; while the MGM+ thriller series From will also premiere on that same night at 9 PM. And that same night, the HBO drama Industry will move to its new timeslot of 10 PM.
Lastly also on September 22, the new FOX drama Rescue: Hi-Surf will debut at 8 PM. This pulse-pounding Hawaii lifeguard drama will give off vibes of the 90’s hit series Baywatch (which it is not), following the personal and professional lives of the heavy-water lifeguards who patrol and protect the North Shore of O’ahu – the most famous and dangerous stretch of coastline in the world. The series stars Arielle Kebbel, Adam Demos, Ian Anthony Dale, Shawn Hatosy, Zoe Cipres, Alex Aiono, Kekoa Kekumano, Sea Shimooka and Robbie Magasiva.

TV CASTING NEWS
Brendan Gleeson and Jack Huston have both joined the cast of the Amazon live-action Spider-Man Noir series, but both of their roles are being kept under wraps. They will join Nicolas Cage and Lamorne Morris in the series. (Variety)
Meanwhile over on Netflix, the limited series adaptation of the Alice Feeney novel His & Hers has added Jon Bernthal and Pablo Schreiber to the cast, joining Tessa Thompson in the six episode series that will be set in the sweltering heat of Atlanta where Anna (Thompson) lives in haunting reclusivity, fading away from her friends and career as a news anchor. But when she overhears about a murder in Dahlonega – the sleepy town where she grew up – Anna is snapped back to life, pouncing on the case and searching for answers. Detective Jack Harper (Bernthal) is strangely suspicious of her involvement, chasing her into the crosshairs of his own investigation. There are two sides to every story: his & hers, which means someone is always lying. (Variety)
Parker Young will recur in the 5th and final season of 9-1-1: Lone Star, playing Campbell, a Texas Ranger assigned to work alongside Carlos (series regular Rafael L. Silva). (TV Line)
Floriana Lima, who viewers will remember from A Million Little Things, has been cast in Grey’s Anatomy, playing Nora, a childhood friend of Hunt and sister Megan. (Deadline and TV Line)
Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (Scarface and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves) is set to recur in Law & Order: Organized Crime for its 5th season, which will now air on Peacock. She will play Isabella Spezzano, a figure from Stabler’s (series lead Christopher Meloni) past. (Deadline)
STRAIGHT-TO-SERIES ORDER
Netflix has given a straight-to-series order to Thumblite, a corporate thriller that will star Rosamund Pike. The series will examine the schemes, rivalries, visions and obsessions of the power brokers and their underlings as they vie for control of the most powerful industry the world has ever known. BOX OFFICE NEWS
Shailene Woodley is set to produce and star in a biopic about legendary 60’s singer Janis Joplin. (Variety)

EARLY STAGE DISCUSSIONS
It looks like Lifetime just MIGHT be launching a TV movie franchise feature legacy characters from the long-defunct soap opera All My Children, which ran on ABC from 1970 to 2011, but the talks are in the very early stages; however, the cabler did confirm (after the news broke) that there are two AMC movies in development, one of which would be holiday-themed. AUDIO PRODUCTION
Audible Inc., a leading producer and provider of original spoken-word entertainment and audiobooks, announced the upcoming release of the Canadian Audible Original drama Wynonna Earp: Tales from Purgatory. The immersive, multicast audio production is written by creator, producer and writer of the show, Emily Andras with original cast members reprising their roles, including Melanie Scrofano as Wynonna Earp, Tim Rozon as Doc Holliday, Dominique Provost-Chalkley as Waverly Earp, Katherine Barrell as Nicole Haught, Varun Saranga as Jeremy Chetri, Dani Kind as Mercedes Gardner, Martina Ortiz Luis as Rachel Valdez, and Greg Lawson as Randy Nedley.
