News broke today that the Wonder Woman project for which David E. Kelley has been overseeing for TV was picked up as a pilot by NBC. That news, of course, set off a maelstrom of comments; namely, why does a remake need to be made of yet another 70’s classic not to mention who would play the legendary character.
A number of articles went up today, proclaiming the news and speculating on various actresses who could play the part. To be honest of all the names being thrown around by bloggers and fans alike very few really FIT the part. When you visualize Wonder Woman, you see Lynda Carter who personified the character in the 70’s TV series.
But is there an actress who can fit the bill now? I say there are actually several who could pull off this monumental role. First and foremost, the actress who lands this part must be TALL after all Wonder Woman is an Amazon. She must be beautiful; that is a given. And, she has to have a terrific body. That is a “tall” order, but there are woman in the industry that fit these descriptions.
My choices appear below in no particular order:

Miracle Laurie
Miracle Laurie – Back in April of 2010, I wrote a column at NiceGirlsTV called “If I Were a Casting Agent” where I talked about who I would cast in the much-anticipated Wonder Woman movie that kept being shipped around. Miracle Laurie was my number one choice for the role in that column, and I stand behind that decision. Miracle had a recurring role in the FOX series Dollhouse.

Erica Durance
Erica Durance – Erica has consistently made the dream list of bloggers all over the net for this role simply because she is tall, beautiful and strong. She has proven that she can handle an iconic role and make it her own, playing the legendary Lois Lane in the CW series Smallville for the past 7 seasons.

Nadia Bjorlin
Nadia Bjorlin – This Days of Our Lives beauty has been counted among the many names touted for this role since her early days of the soap opera. Considering Nadia has 12-years’ experience working in soaps she can handle any type of storyline that comes her way and she has the beauty and physique to pull of this role.

Bridget Regan
Bridget Regan – This stunning beauty from the syndicated series Legend of the Seeker has the allure and charm to play this role effortlessly. The experience she gained from working on this series in terms of filming battles, wielding weapons and dealing with costumes would come in handy for portraying Wonder Woman.
So, there you have my top four choices for the legendary role of Wonder Woman. Which actresses would you like to see play this part. Please share.
ERICA DURANCE,BECAUSE NOT ONLY CAN SHE MAKE THE ROLE HER OWN SHE DESERVE IT.I TRULY LOVE HER AS AN AMAZING,NICE,AND ALL AROUND ACTRESS.ERICA DURANCE IS THE ONLY ONE,PLEASE FOR ME MAKE HER THE NEXT WONDER WOMAN.
Miracle Laurie would be awesome; I haven’t seen much of your other 3 nominees, but I still think Megan Gale, who was going to play Wonder Woman when the movie almost got made a few years back, would be an awesome choice, though she hasn’t done a lot of acting and is probably busy designing new fashions for her clothing line. http://www.slashfilm.com/megan-gale-is-wonder-woman/
I totally see Miracle or Nadia in the role. When Miracle was in November mode she was totally bad ass. And Nadia trully does look like a young Wonder Woman. Erica may not be the best choice because she has made Lois Lane her own and people would have difficulties seeing her as a new character.
It’s hard to disagree with any of your picks here, or even the ranking. Miracle was a real gem among the DOLLHOUSE cast.
One other name to consider: Lucy Griffiths, who played Marian in the recent ROBIN HOOD series over in England (which aired on BBC America here in the states).
I completely agree with Miracle Laurie. I adore that woman.
I’d totally vote for Miracle! She’d be perfect!
I agree about Miracle Laurie – I would add two more Whedon alumni, Charisma Carpenter and Eliza Dushku. I like Erica Durance too.
Hmmmmmm….I like the choice of Miracle Laurie, but I would also recommend Charisma Carpenter.
thank u 4 making me ur #1! would b a dream come true! – From Miracle Laurie via her Twitter page
I would love to see Miracle. Wonder Woman should definitely have these beautiful eyes.
I’d like to see Michele Boyd as Wonder Woman, with Lucy Lawless making cameos as her mom, the Amazon Queen (on hiatus between seasons of Spartacus). Miracle Laurie would make a great sister/sidekick!
Miracle! I’ve seen all these women act and they’re all good, but Miracle can pull both the sweet and innocent side off and can kick butt (as proven in Dollhouse). The others…not so much. To play someone with two sides of her personality like Wonder Woman, I think Miracle is perfect.
I personally think that for a movie like WW it would be much better to cast someone who isn’t in everything already.
Miracle also is a really good actress and she’s very pretty so that makes her my #1 choice.
I’d hope that they would seriously consider Nadia Bjorlin for the role. She has the look, the gorgeous blue eyes, the physique, and she’s athletic. She has experience with fast-paced filming, and she’s been doing some great work in other projects, as well as her DAYS role. She’s come a long way from the young teenage-looking girl who started off on DAYS so many years ago, and she’s blossomed into a beautiful woman who would easily fit into a vigilante corporate executive dealing with the complexities of her day-to-day struggles with life and fighting crime in secret. I think the role was made for Nadia!
Without a doubt the stunning and charismatic Nadia Bjorlin for all the reasons so eloquently stated above by Patty.
I agree wholeheartedly on Nadia Bjorlin. I’ve only watch the Days of our Lives a couple of times and she’s breathtaking! I had a chance to see her in South Carolina this summer in the flesh and I was floored on how flawless she is in person. TV doesn’t do her justice. I would watch Wonder Woman if she were cast! My boyfriend would too!!!
I can really see Nadia being in this role. I thought so ever since the news that a movie might be made. Now that the show has been picked up I really cannot see anyone else in the role. I hope Nadia gets the part, she will be AMAZING!
If Nadia Bjorlin does not get this part then there is something very wrong. She is the perfect choice. Nadia can easily rival LyndaCarter’s beauty. I hope that she gets her due.
ERICA DURANCE BY FAR! SHE HAS THE ENDEARING COMBINATION OF HUMOUR, WIT, AND HAS PROVED TO HAVE A STRONG ACTING RANGE, ALONG WITH BEAUTY AND POISE! NO QUESTION SHE WOULD BE FANTASTIC!
nadia bjorlin got to get the part for the movie she is wonder woman.!
