It was quite a hit or miss night last night for the major networks. I think some viewers were still shell-shocked by the World Series upsetting the regular programming schedule with many viewers simply not knowing what was airing and what wasn’t.
Here is how the Monday night dramas fared in the overall ratings:
8 PM Shows:
Terra Nova (FOX) [NEW] – 6.4 million
Ringer (The CW) [Reair] – 1 million
9 PM Shows:
House (FOX) [NEW] – 6.6 million
Ringer (The CW) [Reair] – 870,000 viewers
10 PM Shows:
Castle (ABC) [NEW] – 12.9 million
Hawaii Five-0 (CBS) [NEW] – 10.3 million

There was a time when House pulled better numbers up against DWTS…and Terra Nova hasn’t yet shown that ability. I think it was more about what was on Monday at those times than wondering about baseball scheduling issues because the 10pm numbers were solid. It seems to me people knew what was on.
I watched Castle, who pulled great numbers, YEA! It was an awesome episode! It’s one show that does both drama and comedy well. Like, when it’s funny, it’s really funny , and when it’s doing a serious drama they are intense and compelling. This week’s episode, Heros & Villians was from the drama side and was just…AMAZING.
Some viewers possibly knew what was on; but if the general viewing audience is anything like certain groups of people that I know, they have no idea what is on each night unless they ask me or check the guides on their TV as they are sitting down to watch “something.”
Where Castle is concerned, I totally agree. It’s the perfect mix of comedy and drama with a terrific cast. What other shows should emulate.
