Actor Jonathan Del Arco (The Closer) has landed a recurring role in the drama pilot American Housewife from Lifetime that will star Melanie Griffith as a seemingly perfect housewife. He will play her gay neighbor. (Nellie Andreeva at Deadline)

Actor Daryl Sabara (best known for his roles in the Spy Kids movies) and Hannah Marks (Necessary Roughness) will both guest star on an upcoming episode of Grimm, tackling the popular fairy tale “Hansel and Gretel”. The tag line for the episode is this: Hanson (Sabara) and Gracie (Marks) are homeless teens trying to survive in the streets of Portland, when they unexpectedly get caught up in the creature world’s deadly black market of human organ dealing. Actress Jennifer Beals (Flashdance and The Chicago Code) will appear in an upcoming two-part episode of Castle, playing Sophia Conrad, a smart, commanding and sexy CIA operative who joins Castle and Beckett in the search for a fellow CIA agent who has gone rogue and is now the key suspect in Castle and Beckett’s murder case. But Beckett soon becomes distracted by the fact that Castle and Sophia have quite a complicated history. Castle is back on January 19. (Adam Bryant at TV Guide)

Actor Chadwick Boseman (Lincoln Heights and Persons Unknown) has landed the plum role of the legendary baseball player Jackie Robinson in a film that will star Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey, the MLB executive who “broke the color barrier” by signing Robinson in 1945. (Deadline and First Showing)
