Football reigned supreme on TV for the most part last night for the major networks, delaying the only new episodes of the primetime dramas still airing new episodes.
Here is how those two shows fared in the overall ratings:
9 PM Show (Delayed by Football):
The Mentalist (CBS) [NEW] – 8.2 million
10 PM Show (Delayed by Football):
CSI (CBS) [NEW] – 6.6 million

How annoying is the football season? My PVR (DVR in the US) doesn’t know when the football is on and that it cuts into the middle of The Mentalist and CSI, I got the end of The Mentalist just before CSI and of course missed the rest of that. Consequently and hopefully it will be On Demand in day or so. ARGH!
Football is annoying to those of us who don’t like it (myself included in that), but it’s great for those who do love it. Since you are in Canada, I’m not sure if you can go to CBS online and watch it there as they put their new episodes up online pretty quickly. I watch a number of shows online when my time slots for my DVR are too full. Sunday night delays are typical this time of year, though.
