Here is the list of the new programming options to expect on TV this coming holiday week:
On February 26, there are a lot of options, starting with the fourth season premiere of iZombie on The CW at 9 PM and the third season premiere of UnReal on Lifetime at 10 PM.
The following new dramas will also air on February 26:
The new NBC drama Good Girls will debut at 10 PM. When three suburban moms (Mae Whitman, Christina Hendricks and Retta) get tired of trying to make ends meet, they decide it’s time to stick up for themselves by robbing the local supermarket at (toy) gunpoint. But when the manager catches a glimpse of one of them and the loot is far more than they expected, it doesn’t take long for the three best friends to realize the perfect getaway will be harder than they think. The cast includes Matthew Lillard, Reno Wilson and Manny Montana [among others].
The new AMC drama McMafia will debut at 10 PM. The series charts Alex Godman’s (James Norton) journey as he is drawn deeper and deeper into the world of organized crime. As the English-raised son of Russian exiles with a mafia history, Alex has spent his life trying to escape the shadow of that criminal past, building his own legitimate business and forging a life with his girlfriend Rebecca (Juliet Rylance). But when his family’s past returns to threaten them, Alex is forced to confront his values to protect those he loves. What starts out as a story of survival and revenge becomes an epic tale of a man’s struggle against the lures of corruption in the modern world and in himself.
The new WGN America drama Shoot the Messenger will debut at 10 PM. The series follows Daisy Channing (Elyse Levesque from Cedar Cove and Stargate Universe), a young reporter trying to balance a messy personal life with a burgeoning career. Things begin to go sideways for Daisy when she witnesses a murder she thinks is gang related, only to find herself slowly drawn into an interconnected web of criminal and illicit sexual activity that reaches into the corridors of corporate and political power. It’s the kind of news story that will destroy lives, including those of her own family. With help from her editor Mary Foster (Alex Kingston from ER and Doctor Who), co-worker Simon Olenski (Lucas Bryant from Haven), and lead homicide detective Kevin Lutz (Lyriq Bent from Rookie Blue), Daisy uncovers a cover-up so scandalous it could bring down the government.
On February 28, Designated Survivor will be back with its winter premiere on ABC at 10 PM while on that same night the season finale of the Paramount Network mini-series Waco will air at 10 PM
The Hulu streaming series The Looming Tower will debut online on February 28. The series traces the rising threat of Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda in the late 1990s and how the rivalry between the FBI and CIA during that time may have inadvertently set the path for the tragedy of 9/11. The series follows members of the I-49 Squad in New York and Alec Station in Washington, D.C., the counter-terrorism divisions of the FBI and CIA, respectively, as they travel the world fighting for ownership of information while seemingly working toward the same goal – trying to prevent an imminent attack on U.S. soil. The cast includes Alec Baldwin, Jeff Daniels and Peter Sarsgaard.
On March 1, Gotham will return with its spring premiere on FOX at 8 PM.
Once Upon a Time will be back with its spring premiere, after its extended hiatus, on ABC at 8 PM on March 2.
Lastly on March 4, The Good Fight returns for its second season on CBS All Access today while the 90th annual Academy Awards will air on ABC at 8 PM on that same night.
Mark your calendars!
