A Star is Born

Seasoned musician Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper, who also directed the movie and co-wrote the screenplay) discovers — and falls in love with — struggling artist Ally (the one and only Lady Gaga). She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer until Jackson coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jackson fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons. The cast includes Sam Elliott, Dave Chappelle and Bonnie Somerville.
The Hate U Give

Starr Carter (Amandla Stenberg) is constantly switching between two worlds — the poor, mostly black neighborhood where she lives and the wealthy, mostly white prep school that she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is soon shattered when she witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend at the hands of a police officer. Facing pressure from all sides of the community, Starr must find her voice and decide to stand up for what’s right. The movie also stars Regina Hall, Russell Hornsby, Anthony Mackie, Issa Rae, Common and K.J. Apa.
Venom

Reporter Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) develops superpowers after becoming a host to an alien parasite. The cast includes Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, Jenny Slate, Riz Ahmed and Ron Cephas Jones.
Bad Time At The El Royale
Opens: October 12
Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at a run-down hotel in Lake Tahoe in 1960s California. Over the course of a fateful night, they all get one last shot at redemption before everything goes wrong. Among the ensemble cast are Chris Hemsworth, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman and Jeff Bridges.
First Man
Opens: October 12
The film tells the riveting story of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon, focusing on Neil Armstrong (Ryan Gosling) and the years 1961-1969. A visceral, first-person account, based on the book by James R. Hansen, the movie will explore the sacrifices and the cost—on Armstrong and on the nation—of one of the most dangerous missions in history. The movie also stars Claire Foy, Pablo Schreiber, Ciaran Hinds, Jason Clarke, Kyle Chandler, Ethan Embry, Corey Stoll, Lukas Haas and Patrick Fugit.
Can You Ever Forgive Me?

Celebrity biographer Leonore Carol “Lee” Israel (Melissa McCarthy) makes her living profiling the likes of Katharine Hepburn, Tallulah Bankhead, Estee Lauder and journalist Dorothy Kilgallen. When Lee is no longer able to get published because she has fallen out of step with current tastes, she turns her art form to deception, abetted by her loyal friend Jack Hock (Richard E. Grant). The cast includes Jane Curtin and Anna Deavere Smith.

When her Alzheimer’s-suffering mother, Ruth (Blythe Danner), wanders into a blizzard on Christmas Eve, Bridget Ertz (Hilary Swank) travels back to her hometown to help her brother convince their father to put Ruth in a nursing home and face the end of their life-long love affair. The film also stars Michael Shannon, Robert Forster, Taissa Farmiga, Josh Lucas and Aimee Garcia.
Hunter Killer
Opens: October 26
The Russian President is captured by his own Defense Minister at a visit on a Northern Marine base. A U.S Submarine under the command of Commander Joe Glass (Gerard Butler) is sent into Russian water to save the Russian President and avoid sparking World War III. The cast includes Gary Oldman, Common, Caroline Goodall, Michael Nyqvist, Toby Stephens, Linda Cardellini, David Gyasi, Michael Trucco and Ryan McPartllin.
Indivisible
Opens: October 26
Fresh out of the seminary and basic training, Army chaplain Darren Turner (Justin Bruening) receives orders to deploy to Iraq, leaving his wife Heather (Sarah Drew) behind to care for their three young children. The harsh realities of war soon take their toll on Turner and his battalion, making it hard to stay connected to his beloved family. When Darren finally comes home, the Turners must decide if they’re willing to face one more battle — the fight to save their marriage. The film also stars Jason George, Tia Mowry-Hardrict, Tanner Stine, Madeline Carroll, Michael O’Neill and Eric Close.
Johnny English Strikes Again

In this sequel to the 2011 film Johnny English Reborn, a new adventure begins when a cyber-attack reveals the identity of all active undercover agents in Britain, leaving Johnny English (Rowan Atkinson) as the Secret Service’s last hope. Called out of retirement, English dives head first into action with the mission to find the mastermind hacker. As a man with few skills and analogue methods, Johnny English must overcome the challenges of modern technology to make this mission a success. The cast includes Olga Kuryleno, Emma Thompson and Jake Lacy.
