Archive for April, 2020

Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:

On April 6, the new Acorn TV 4-part series Deadwater Fell will debut online. Dr. Kendrick (David Tennant), a trusted, admired and much-liked member of the community, who is a doting father to three little girls, is seemingly the loving husband whose marriage to Kate (Anne Madeley) appears nothing short of perfect. But in one night the illusions of happiness and contentment are shattered as the community is drawn to Kate and Tom’s home in the forest by the flicker of flames and the smell of smoke. Amid the confusion, Kate and her children are found dead, and Tom, found unconscious in his bed, is rushed to the hospital. As more suspicious details of that night emerge, Jess – who was Kate’s best friend and closest confidante – becomes desperate to understand what could have caused such a tragedy, and what secrets lie at the root of this terrible act.

The new streaming services Quibi – for your cell phones only – will debut online on April 6. Among the dramatic series debuting on that service include:

* When the Street Lights Go On: After the murder of a beautiful young girl rocks a suburban community, the victim’s sister and her high school peers must struggle to find a sense of normalcy while coming of age in the midst of the murder investigation. The cast includes Queen Latifah, Cameron Bancroft, Kristine Froseth, Mark Duplass

* Most Dangerous Game: Desperate to take care of his pregnant wife before a terminal illness can take his life, Dodge Maynard (Liam Hemsworth) accepts an offer to participate in a deadly game where he soon discovers that he’s not the hunter… but the prey. This dystopian action-thriller explores the limits of how far someone would go to fight for their life and their family. The series also stars Christolph Waltz, Sarah Gadon, Billy Burke and Jimmy Akingbola.

* Survive: Jane (Sophie Turner) wants to end it all. Then a plane crash almost ends it for her. Now she’s crawling from the wreckage with the only other survivor (Corey Hawkins) and a new drive to stay alive. Together they embark on a harrowing journey out of the wilderness, battling brutal conditions and personal traumas. Based on the critically acclaimed novel of the same name by Alex Morel.
