Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:
On August 9, All Rise will air its mid-season finale on OWN at 8 PM.
Resident Alien will be back with the summer return of its second season on Syfy (and the USA Network) on August 10 at 10 PM; while that same day, the third and final season of Locke & Key will premiere on Netflix online.
On August 12, the Apple TV+ drama Five Days at Memorial will debut online. The limited eight-episode series is based on actual events and adapted from the book by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Sheri Fink. It chronicles the impact of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath on a local hospital. When the floodwaters rose, power failed, and heat soared, exhausted caregivers at a New Orleans hospital were forced to make decisions that would follow them for years to come. The cast includes Vera Farmiga, Michael Gaston, Robert Pine and Cherry Jones [among others].
The season finale of For All Mankind will air online on Apple TV+ on August 12 while that same day, the Netflix dramedy Never Have I Ever will premiere its third season online while the Disney movie Zombies 3 will debut at 8 PM [the movie has already debuted online on Disney+].
On August 12, the small screen series adaptation of the box office movie A League of Their Own will debut online on Amazon. This version will tell the story of an entire generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball, taking a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters as they carve their own paths towards the field, both in the League and outside of it. The cast includes Dale Dickey, D’Arcy Carden, Kelly McCormack, Nick Offerman, Abbi Jacobson, Alex Desert and Melanie Field [among others].
The Netflix film special 13: The Musical will debut online on August 12. After his parents’ divorce, Evan Goldman (Eli Golden) moves from NYC to small-town Indiana. As his 13th birthday nears, he must master the complex social circles of his new school and win friends by turning his Bar Mitzvah into the coolest party ever. The cast includes Peter Hermann, Debra Messing, Josh Peck and Rhea Perlman.
On August 12, Passionflix will debut the next movie in the franchise – Gabriel’s Rapture, Part 3 – online. The film finds Melanie Zanetti and Giulio Berruti back for the third part of the second movie in the franchise created by Sylvain Reynard.
The Hallmark Channel movie Romance in Style will debut on August 13 at 8 PM. Ella’s unique designs inspire publishing mogul Derek to include plus-sized fashion in his magazine. Soon, Derek begins to realize that Ella’s influence reaches far beyond the catwalk. The film stars Jaicy Elliot and Benjamin Hollingsworth.
On August 14, the following will air:
* The season finale of Evil on Paramount+
* The 6th and final season of Chesapeake Shores will premiere on the Hallmark Channel at 8 PM
* The season finales of Grantchester and Cobra on PBS at 9 and 10 PM respectively
* The second season premiere of Power Book II: Raising Kanan will air on Starz at 9 PM
* The season finale of Westworld will air on HBO at 9 PM
* The season finale of Bridge & Tunnel on EPIX at 10 PM
Also on August 14, the new series in the franchise – Tales of the Walking Dead – will debut both online on AMC+ and on AMC at 9 PM. The series consists of six original one-hour standalone episodes that will focus on both new and established characters within the walker apocalypse. Each episode will have its own distinct tone and point of view — but the stakes are high in each story, pushing new, indelible characters with relentless, life-threatening choices and situations. The ensemble cast will include Anthony Edwards, Daniella Pineda, Embeth Davidtz, Jessie T. Usher, Olivia Munn, Parker Posey, Samantha Morton and Terry Crews.
The UPtv movie Love, Game, Match will debut on August 14 at 7 PM. When economics teacher and new-in-town Liz challenges her high school students to create business plans, she has no idea that the class winners will actually start their own matchmaking service. Asked to set up her own profile to help them kickstart their careers, as well as team up with handsome tennis coach Ted to organize the school carnival, Liz must navigate the dynamics of this new school, as well as the algorithms of her own heart. The cast includes Cristine Prosperi, Sylvia Grace Crim and Dale Moss.
Lastly, also on August 14, the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie The Journey Ahead will debut at 9 PM. A famous Hollywood actress and a young wilderness expert drive from Los Angeles to New York. Along the way both women learn they can’t run from their past to create the future they want. The film stars Holly Robinson Peete, Kaylee Bryant and Mark Humphrey.
