Here is the list of the programming options to expect on TV this coming week:
On May 25, the new Acorn TV drama Summerwater will debut online. Based on Sarah Moss’s best-seller and set against Scottish loch-side cabins, the residents of Summerwater attempt to escape life’s problems in the serenity of isolation. However, far from a relaxing retreat, it turns out to be a mysterious all-knowing place where residents are confronted with their deepest desires and darkest truths. The cast includes Shirley Henderson, Dougray Scott, Anna Prochniak and Valene Kane.
The 52nd Annual American Music Awards will air on CBS on May 25 at 8 PM.
On May 27, the season finale of the prequel series The Testaments will air online on Hulu; while on that same day, the second season of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder will premiere online on Netflix. Also that same day, the NBC medical drama Brilliant Minds will return after its extended break at the new time of 8 PM.
The second season of The Four Seasons will air online on Netflix on May 28; while that same day, the fourth season of Criminal Minds: Evolution will air online on Paramount+.
On May 29, the season finale of For All Mankind will air online on Apple TV.
The For All Mankind spin-off drama Star City will debut online on May 29 on Apple TV. This new series is a propulsive paranoid thriller that takes us back to the key moment in the alt-history retelling of the space race – when the Soviet Union became the first nation to put a man on the moon. But this time, we explore the story from behind the Iron Curtain, showing the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers and the intelligence officers embedded among them in the Soviet space program, and the risks they all took to propel humankind forward. The cast includes Rhys Ifans, Anna Maxwell Martin, Alice Englert, Solly McLeod and Agnes O’Casey [among others].
On May 29, the HBO movie Miss You, Love You will debut at 8 PM. A blunt widow (Allison Janney) is forced to plan her husband’s funeral with her estranged son’s assistant (Andrew Rannells), leading to a darkly funny story about grief, secrets, and an unlikely friendship. The cast includes Bonnie Hunt, Suzy Nakamura, Oscar Nuñez and Lisa Schurga.
The new Hallmark Channel movie Haunted Harmony Mysteries: Key to the Castle will debut on May 30 at 8 PM. When a ghost hunter show comes to town, it’s up to Gethsemane (Tamera Mowry-Housley) and Eamon (Risteard Cooper) to solve the unexpected murder of the host, allowing the brand-new spirit to cross-over. Marco Grazzini co-stars.
On May 30, the Lifetime movie Where the Heart Lands will debut at 8 PM. A Los Angeles lawyer inherits a Kentucky horse farm and faces resistance from a local trainer (Jana Kramer) when he plans to sell it. The movie, which was directed, produced and co-written by Haylie Duff, also stars Tyler Johnson, John Schneider, Charlene Tilton and Jessica Szohr.
Lastly, the finale of the AMC drama The Audacity will air on May 31 at 9 PM.
