The story will focus on an editor Susan Ryeland (Lesley Manville), who becomes entangled in a new murder case while working on a continuation novel of the Atticus Pünd series, written by a troubled young author (Jamie Blackley).

In the fictional world of the novel, detective Atticus Pünd (Tim McMullan) travels to the Isle of Corfu, investigating the murder of Lady Margaret Chalfont (Patricia Hodge) with the help of a Greek detective (Zubin Varla).

Susan unexpectedly finds herself a suspect in the real-life murder case, blending the meta literary mystery with suspenseful real-world intrigue.
